I liked his one the best, then 1 and 4 are tied then 3 then 5. I dont hate any of these movies, but that's just the order i like. I liked the story about Harry going against the vigilante cops and it was filled with so much action. THe "Man's got to know his limitations." line is also my favorite.
I love Hal Holbrook in this movie, especially when his true colours show and he reveals himself to be the leader of the vigilante cops. I love his American flag pin too and how it's all wonky when he turns up looking like shit after Harry beats the crap out of him lol. "Just hold it right there Callahan!"
I think that's why they had the character wearing it - the irony of it. The American flag symbolizes fairness, justice, democracy, freedom and truth. "No person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process"............a concept this flag pin wearing cop seems to have brushed aside lol
@englishguy2010 Yeah, and this character should constitute a lesson to all the contemporary politicians and political commentators who ostentatiously wear the flag pin as some fatuous guaranty of their patriotism and values yet may risk acting in a hypocritical and unethical manner.
Great flick! I loved the point Harry made at the end of this: "if cops start become judge jury and executioner, where's it gonna end? soon you'll execute people for traffic violations and jaywalking then you'll execute your neighbour because his dog pisses on your lawn." great words.
I love Magnum Force but I hate the audio effects remastering job they did to it, Dirty Harry and The Enforcer. 1980's sound effects in 1970's movies, not good.
I can't disagree with anything that you said! I am fortunate enough to own all 5 of these fine dirty harry movies. "the enforcer" is my least favorite.... sorry.
I loved the original and despised Magnum Force until I watched it a few times. Magnum force is now my favorite. Like you said, it has a lot of good action, a well flowing plot, combined with appreciable glimpses of nudity.... What's not to like?
The guy who plays Harry partner in this flim plays Johnson in the ROBOCOP flims its like i told him in the first flim''YES! thats the way you do things in the big leagues you see a opening you go for it''-Miguel87 lol! cool first part i enjoy this score too as well as the score in Sudden Impact as well.
"A man's gotta know his limitations" Translation: Don't fuck with me. By the far the best and coolest Dirty Harry flick. Great stuff.

@SheriffTankStoner Yeah, not enough people are concerned with historical authenticity.

@ChandlerPol I'm at the moment seeking old VHS tapes of Dirty Harry, Magnum Force and The Enforcer with their original sound effects intact

This is my favorite of the series, as well. The theme by Lalo Schifrin is incredible.
