La kora est un instrument de musique à cordes africain. C'est une harpe-luth mandingue (Mali, Sénégal, Gambie, Guinée, Sierra Leone...).
Quant à La Casamance (« Kasa »), c'est une région historique et naturelle du Sénégal située au sud-ouest du pays, entre la Gambie et la Guinée-Bissau, partiellement isolée du reste du pays par le territoire gambien.
