@MKsearchlight Haha. Thanks. I like statues better though. The action figures needing joints to make them move make the figure look funny to me, especially the head. The action figures I see the heads look good, but the necks usually look a little skinny because you’re trying to work in the movement.
@hellofloyd Thanks. I tried my best to get the likeness. I think it's off a little but not too bad. I did it as a request from someone. My Hulk and Terminator were personal projects though if you haven't seen those you can check them out on my channel.
@Kimoraman1 OH GOOD FOR YOUUUU!!!. Thanks. I actually sculpted it for someone else, so it wasn't really a personal project that I was going to paint and display.
@AdamBeaneSculptor Thanks Adam. I admire your work as well. I’d like to try some of that material you work with. I’m the next state over from you, maybe I can stop by and pick some up.
@sxephlI Thanks for the nice words, taking the time to comment and thanks for looking, but sorry you can never be as good as me because I won't allow it. Just kidding. You could surpass me easy because I'm lazy.
@MIGUEL2005LIMA Thanks. I make perfect joints using zig zag papers, just kidding. I'm not sure what you mean by perfect joints, this figure doesn't have moving parts if that's what you mean.
@sinnersaint007 I rolled out thin lines of clay for the stitching on the skirt part. Then I laid them into position on the skirt and pushed on the space between the stitches with a sculpting tool. Hope that helps and you get what I mean.
@ladieshunk217 I hope not, because I haven't got to answering any prayers ever and I'm sure they are backing up. Plus I think earth took less time to make if you go by the bible. I'm lazy and slow.
@radicalevolutions Haha. I don't know about that. I try my best and it always seems to take me longer to make something then I'd like it to take. I usually think masters of a craft have an easier time whipping things up.
hey can you help me? I've started a clay sculpture of a person sitting on a rock (for art class) but I've never done specifically a human before. I've made the base of the rock but I'm not sure how to start working on my person. Do you start with the body and add the arms and legs and finally the head using slabs or coils? if slabs how do I keep it from forming air bubbles? Id appreciate it sooooo much if you help me :)
@ColourofFame I know it's a late reply and I have a feeling your project is finished now, but I'll still answer your question. If you already have the rock as the base for the figure, I would have made a wire skeleton, I suppose, for the body and pose it the way you like. There are many websites that can show you how to make a good wire armature they call it. Then you add the clay to it to form all the human features. Using polymer clay you don’t have to worry about air bubbles.
@ColourofFame Continues reply...It doesn’t explode like the clay you cook in a kiln. You might be using different clay then I know how to use. I never used the clay you had to worry about bubbles. How did your project come out?
@MUNKVIDEO No need to apologize. I try to give enough info though so people don’t have to wonder things. It does annoy me when there’s a video of something specific, technical or complicated and there’s no info about what you’re seeing.
@Chillidan24 Thanks a lot. I hope it doesn't inspire anyone too much though. I would feel bad to have influenced someone to do something so time consuming and kind of boring haha.
@spideyfanatic Thanks. I don't do it for a living though. I don't know if I have it in me to sit down and make other people's ideas or other people's requests on a full time basis. At least for me I liked Christian Bale and this Batman so this wasn’t too bad, but I did procrastinate a whole lot on it. Although, if I had to sculpt baseball players of something I wasn't interested in it might drive me crazy.
@spideyfanatic Continued reply..Actually my paying job has nothing to do with art at all and I’m not sure if I like it that way or not. I feel I’d like to save my creative energy for my own creative ideas. If I had a job doing something creative I think it would be just that, a job. I wouldn’t like a job that would take so much of my energy. On the other hand I would like to make a living making my own things and being able to sell them, but I wouldn’t call that a job because I’d like it more.
@spideyfanatic More continued reply ...It would be more like a paying hobby. A job to me is work and I think no one really likes to work because it takes effort to work and people use the word work when it’s something they don’t like to do. “I can’t go out tonight, I have to work.” It’s something you have to do instead of something you want to do.
@spideyfanatic End reply.... I look at it as no one really likes their job, but if you do like your job then it’s not really work to me, it’s still takes effort but it’s more of a pleasurable effort, so I refer to it as a paying hobby. The only problem with that is I don’t really want to be a salesman I only want to make things.
Did you send your work to Disney or Pixar? I think they can be -have to be if they are not blind- interested on your skills as a modeller. Absolutelly great.
@tiojoio Thanks. I never really thought of doing that. I don't know if I want to do that or do this work full time or do work for someone else like this full time. I think it's more for my own projects. I have a feeling I wouldn't be right there or if they even just have modellers.
@jerryflack4eva I probably won't be painting this one. I can't paint the wax but the cast I have of it isn't really too good either. I made it for someone else and I wasn't planning on painting one myself.
@knightslade2007 Thanks. I probably won't be painting this one. I can't paint the wax but the cast I have of it isn't really too good either. I made it for someone else and I wasn't planning on painting one myself. I don't know if the guy I made it for ever painted it either. I haven't seen anything.
I'll see what I can do. haha. I'll be making some other sized bust of him. Maybe a full size and a half size bust since I already have a lot of reference. I got his face a little off here so I want to make some better likenesses.
WOW!! this is SURREAL!! How long did it take you to make this!?
