they can run these engines on a mix of kerosene and bio-fuel now, therefore making them much more efficient, they are also working on these engines so a much ricker quantity of biofuel can be used. not sure GE or Pratt and Whitnney can do that with their engines
It's well secured to that structure behinde it? Maybe I don't know... I just think it's evident lol. They don't want to let that big engine fly like a rocket... also the A380 has four of those engines. One of them is not enough to move it... ;)
What are you crazy it is no were near as power full as a GE-90 115B which produces around 120,000 lbs. of thrust were this engine only produces around 70,000. This engine is tiny compared to it and it doesn't guzzle gas like the RR engine.
Ur are missing the point completely, the GE-90's were designed for twin engine config aircraft and are widely used on Boeing's 777
The A380 is 4 X config, so it uses smaller, less powerfull but far more efficient engines.
The whole topic of this video isn't to bitch about who makes the better engine, it's to show the fantastic capability of an engine able to withstand fan/turbine damage without blowing itself to pieces, as is almost always the case with blade loss on jet engines.
Great video about the Airbus A-380; but still can't flight the airlines.

Airbus... we salut you for creating an amazing and fuel efficent plane that holds almost 600 people in 10 years with almost no delays. xD

It was delayed more than two years, if you didn't notice. Just so you know.

WTF fuel efficent it burns 1 gallon of fuel a second.

yeah sure but did you factor in the pollution it puts out and the total fuel capacity of the A380?
raymondissmart11 3 years ago
your dumb. That engine could swallow a city bus, and you think a gallon is a lot? A gallon is freaking peanuts for an engine this powerful!
