  • Great scene! But they remixed the music for some reason :( ....Only people who have loved this movie since before the DVD release will understand.

  • Ahahaa.. the Good, the Bad and the Crazy. One of the best scenes in the movie.

  • Its got one weak point, its ass. You gotta hit em' point blank and from behind

  • whats the song called?

  • @MuzzBuzz789 Quick Draw Kelly

  • I thought it was kind of weird how he got out, they could have just shot him. oh and the fact that he was driving the tank and operating the main gun and coaxial gun all at the same time, by himself..

  • @sharker1234

ISTR it's heavily implied in the movie that the rest of the Tiger's crew was waiting inside. They later speak of trading with "the Germans" and the Panzer commander talks of "our share" or something like that.

  • You gotta love how Oddball has a german Luger in his holster...

  • Been in the SS is he loyal to Hitler?...BOOM....no

  • One of the best cuts in movie history. ".....all ya gotta do is crank this turret around and blow a hole through that door." Short pause, Cut to door....BOOM! Classic. And yes, the movie is full of all kinds of plot holes, implausibilities, outright errors and blah, blah, blah. It's a freaking comedy for goodness sakes, and a damn funny one. Suspend disbelief for a couple hours, have a few good laughs and quit taking life so seriously.

PS Nice job TheFunFlicks, thanks for posting.

  • love the way you hear the spurs on their feet rattling as they walk....oh but wait, they're wearing any!!! Still a classic film. woof woof

  • the germen but ugly

    big joe big nose

    kelly stone face

    oddball f******* awesome

  • "All you have to do to have an equal share of this money, is crank this turret around and blow a hole in that door."

    *staredown*

    *contemplation*

    BOOOOM!

  • "To a New Yorker like you a hero is some kind of weird sandwhich, not some nut who takes on three Tigers."

  • Good deal.

  • Always loved this scene! The Hugo Montenegro "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" (esk) theme just plain WORKS great!

  • @Scroungeman I keep expecting Lee Van Cleef as Angeleyes to pop out of that tank.

  • 4 people are hitting me with negitive waves

  • @TheK2dragon they need to eat some cheese, drink some wine and enjoy this beautiful sunshine

  • In real life the hull would rotate together with the turret,

then the gun will be aimed at the target very fast!!!

  • @Weibkoln In modern tanks yes, I'm not so sure about WWII-era tanks though. Besides, the engine is off because "ze fuel zyztem iz rhotten, we have gazoline all over ze place"

  • in next two months i'm going to this little town... :)

  • put the tiger in todays armies with modern electrics it would be unbeatable

  • tigertank turrets move a little faster then that! I ensure you!

Its just dumb to see the distance between the Americans and the German commander.

and thats not the only thing which is awefull, they carry guns, and the tank doesnt evin shoot.

In real life 1 of the Americans whas allowed to come close without uniform, naked!

Only something that covers your penis whas allowed with your hands in the air,

and then they would have a conversation at a save distance between each other 100meters!

  • @Weibkoln stop with the negative waves

  • @TheK2dragon whahahhaha L O L

  • @Weibkoln- No true German would ever disgrace his country- and the English language- by typing it so badly. So. Very. Badly. You're in no position to lecture anybody when you can barely complete a coherent sentence in English.

  • @Jurassic0Al What ever, like it is the end of the f*cking world...

    Wake up man!!!!

  • @Weibkoln- I dunno, you sure were making a big deal about something earlier.

  • @Jurassic0Al I did not make a big deal at all, telling what the difference is between this movie and reallity,

is not making a big deal, you have to know that this movie is like the A-team, with other words, awefull crap...

And my answer to you whas some sort of self defence

  • @Jurassic0Al making a big deal of someone from a other country his quallity of writing words, is making a big deal, its like a american who tries to type in dutch, with as end-result that the dutch man says

-=((No true American would ever disgrace his country- and the Dutch language- by typing it so badly))=-

No true American would ever disgrace his country by beeing that rude to someone, while he himself cant type ANY text in dutch, with out internet help.

That whas how dumb it felt for me

  • @Weibkoln- Christ almighty! On an on with the negative waves. I can't stand these negative waves so late in the evening.

  • @Jurassic0Al

Then send me some of those positive waves please...

...This life must be a crewl hell for you, because life is one big compilation of negative waves, the positive waves, are nothing more then less negative waves...

    xD ^^ :D

  • @Jurassic0Al Life is one big compilation of negative waves combined together,

positive waves are nothing more and nothing less then, less negative waves......

...which is a positive wave combined with a negative one...

Just pretend like everything is positive, a lot of people do that!!!

  • @Jurassic0Al nothing wrong and there is with my english, type I man perfect, wrong nothing with typingstyle my...

know everyone what mean I, else or I got comments bad more often....

    :P

  • @Weibkoln The idea is that upon seeing their brazen approach, the commander is curious about what they want, and so goes outside to talk to them. Why would the tank waste its ammo shooting at them as they walk up, anyway? It's obvious their intention isn't to attack and besides the guns they have would be useless against it. I guess you've never heard of the concept of a parley before.

  • @Kooshmeister3 What we see here, didnt happen in real life!!!

This is against rules, a armed enemy gets shot in 1 instand!!!

Evin when they approach a tank with friendly faces, these would have been dead meat!!!

Only WITHOUT a weapon they were allowed to speak, did you carry a weapon anyway, you will be seen as a danger, an enemy with weapon will get shot.

So if the Germans wanted to talk, then that would be with hands in the air & no weapon,

the same story for the Allied soldiers!!!

  • @Weibkoln Uh... so what? The concept of people as individuals who react to situations different from the norm is alien to you, isn't it? The idea that this Tiger commander would find their brazen approach admirable and worth meeting them face to face is so unbelievable? Anyway it's fiction. In real life Americans never left their army to go and rob a bank of Nazi gold. So why quibble over the details of what the fictional characters would and wouldn't do in a situation like this?

  • Comment removed

  • @Weibkoln Of course it wouldn't happen in real life. It's a comedy, fictional. I bet you threw a hissy fit when "Inglorious Basterds" came out. Shut up.

  • @Trashcansam123 You choose the right name Trashcan

  • @Weibkoln You know what my dad says when I point out the plausibility of a movie? He goes, "well it's a movie..."

  • @Trashcansam123 Im glad that your dad knows what a movie is,

but the fact that it is a movie, does not mean that it is forbidden for me to tell what would or what wouldnt have happend in real life...

  • @Weibkoln There's this thing called Artistic license and "Willing Suspension of Disbelief". A director can do whatever the #$@% he wants in a movie as long as people can be entertained by it. So nitpick all you want.

Of course you could just remake this WHOLE film to be more realistic but... then again, the plot itself would have to be changed correct? No one would believe 10 soldiers and 3 tanks could steal that much gold that easy?

  • @Trashcansam123 "No one would believe 10 soldiers and 3 tanks could steal that much gold that easy". I guess you could say that "It could be the perfect crime!"

  • The German Tiger tank operator looks like the lead singer from Level 42.

  • Comment removed

  • I think an 88mm gun would have taken out the entire bank.

  • Of course it's not a real Tiger, this replica is far too small regarding Tiger's measurements, but well made (especially the turret).

  • Telly Savalas and Clint Eastwood were badasses!

  • @tp10488 nice german imataion

  • interesting how Donald Sutherland's character is using an iron cross as a zipper pull on his jacket

  • @nathanamorley and he has a Luger as well

  • Thank God, the german guy wasn´t a communist.

  • @Eyyoh77 *lol*

  • Great scene from very entertaining movie. I love western tribute.

..however, why aren't they carrying white flag if they want to negotiate? What is the point in tank rotating it's turret towards them when it's machine gun has allready clear line of sight?..

And even I came to see this because the "Tiger" is quite clearly T-34.. just because it's impossible to get operating Tiger to any movie - because there are not any. One can move but even it is not fully functional..

  • @pehmomarsu That's actually wrong there several Tigers that a still operational to this day there are 6 in the National war museum in London

  • @omega7628 There is no National War Museum in London. There is not even operational Tiger tanks. Only Tiger that is in moving conditon is in Bovington Tank museum, UK. Still it is not enough for film making. So we will see much more Tiger replicas in future films or then film makers use more common German tanks like Panthers. Later would be also historically accurate.

  • @pehmomarsu the funny part about the tank in this movie is it is a real tank built on a t34 chassis i think four of them were built by the Yugoslavian government for reenacting purposes and movies like you see here the cool part is that the tiger tank in saving private ryan is one of these tiger replicas some guy in Pennsylvania owns one of them

  • @MrNelsonb2 ..yeah the saving pvt ryan tanks enginme smokes alot..a real tiger in bovington..runs like a dream...wish somebody would get a real tiger body from russia..and rebuild another

  • @pehmomarsu This was shot in 1970. Not sure if any were operational back then.

  • @pehmomarsu I don't know why they didn't carry a flag, but I can answer the second question about why rotate the main gun when the MG is already pointed at them: to try and intimidate them.

  • The tigers look good, but they are not real, they were built in Yugoslavia by the army based on t-34's

  • 4 of the world's best actors in one epic scene. i love the 70s

  • Immaculate!!! Best sequence in the whole film.

The whole scenario is so totally improbable, off-the-wall and downright wacky that it might just have happened sometime . . .

They sure don't make 'em like that anymore!

  • I love the way Sutherland is trying to keep a straight face

  • the hull MG wouldve started firing immediatily, lol

  • @12togo34 Why do people assume the crew would've immediately fired on them? Clearly the tank crew came to the conclusion the approaching Americans wanted to parley. They were armed, yes, but not making any hostile gestures. They didn't back off when the main gun rotated so clearly they intended to speak not attack, so the tank's commanding officer got out to see what they wanted.

  • I love this movie so much. Every single scene holds somehing precious. On this one, I just love how the german's eyes crack open and begins to sparkle like a beatiful, tiny little star. Ain't no negative waves my friends. Ain't no negative waves.

  • The sound of the spurs they're not wearing!

  • Oddball with his Luger!!! LOL That guy was awesome

  • Love the hint of The Good The Bad The Ugly especially at 1.00 :D

  • and not a single fuck was given that day

  • TO BE ACCURATE THE PIPING ON THE TANKERS UNIFORM SHOULD BE PINK!! A TRUE THING!!DON'T DARE LAUGH!! C.I.A. WAS STARTED BY A MAJOR GENERAL OF S.S GESTAPO HEINRICH MUELLER! TO HELP US FIGHT THE "PINKO BOLSHEVIKS!! PAID $50,000 YEAR & A COOL MILLION FOR HIS EUROPEAN DOSSIERS ON SOVIET AGENTS &DOUBLE AGENTS, BRITISH COMMUNISTS IN MI-5, SOVIET SYMPATHATHIZERS IN FDR'S ADMINISTRATION LATER TO BE PURGED! OPERATION "PAPERCLIP" DEATH CAMP TORTURERS IN CHARGE OF THE C.I.A. & LOOK WHERE IT'S GOTTEN US!

  • This is a tiger tank with a 55-60 mm main gun. One shot would wipe your from existence in this world. And you dont know how many rounds he has left. So you gotta ask yourself, do you feel lucky? Well?! Do you Clint?!?!

  • @greenpeices The Gun is actually an 88mm Kwk 36 L/56, not to be a troll, just correcting you.

  • the german sounds like Tommy Wiseau

  • Balls of steel. :)

  • tiger blast door with 88mm shell rips through inside gold blown all over town !!

  • @cdawg2474

Doors probably made in Germany, I supprised shell didn't bounce off...

  • wow hard germans and yanks

  • These Tiger mock-ups made a great impression on me when I saw this film in'68 - a great improvement on the usual M48s with German crosses on, seen in such rubbish as Battle of the Bulge, Tobruk, etc.

  • @cosycleaner lol, first of all this film was made in 1970... so how could you see t in 68? and secondly its a t-34 not a real tiger, its looks like it though

  • @MrGetsomebaby Thats why he said Tiger mock-up.

  • @MrGetsomebaby

Nope, that was one of the real reconstructed Tigers which where used during filming (Turret shape, and many other details which would be impossible to recreated on "converted" T-34).

I think there is somewere in Yutube video of such "converted" to Tiger T-34 used in Saving Private Rayan final battle scene so you can easy compare both "versions"

  • we will have our turn soon people revenge on the banks lol

  • how is this soundtrack called?

  • Coole Szene, aber kein echter Tiger.... no real Tiger Tank!

  • "You, ze American army?"

  • @goreziad "No baby we aint"

  • that german has a massive head but its a dutch actor

  • @whitewaxa69 Nah he is German, born in Berlin

  • @ooogaboooga172 of course it takes a berliner hard people mate

  • brilliant would really like to think that in all that mess this could have happened, different sides, but just men, top!

    woof woof

  • Why does the german guy look so....weird? His eyes are...

  • @Trashcansam123 It's John McCain

  • @Trashcansam123 If you see him in the battle of britain, he looks normal.

  • @Trashcansam123 Because they were smoking weed in the tank. The bright sunlight is hurting his eyes. They had a black light in the tank though.

Also before anyone says anything I do not like drugs or drug based humor, but I couldn't help it.

  • Never underestimate the power of 16 million dollars

  • @Stevezom: In gold bars.

  • Brightened my day......

  • I love this film, if you cant see the humour in it you're taking things to seriously!

  • did you guys already knew that this tank was made of an Russian T-34 :P they've did it really great :P

  • @DeTooR94

How did they get a t34 during the cold war? Must've been captured from the Korean War.

  • @Trashcansam123 Yogoslavian army still had some kicking around as reserves.

  • Woof,Woof!

  • chuck norris was born because clint said it was ok

  • Thumbs up if you watched this plus the Longest Day on Mermorial Day

  • even when clint eastwood doesnt do a western they have to have a high noon showdown somewhere

  • 啥米汰膏戰車

  • Haha Oddball is ridiculous.

  • this is justa bad ass scene here !

  • The Good, the Bad, the Ugly....AND a fistful of dollars ...literally ! Great classic scene, props for loading it !

  • This scene is where perfect casting meets perfect dialog. I love it!

  • Yes, they had no choice but to use a T34 with a Tiger shell on it. Back then there was ZERO running Tigers in the world. Even today there is only ONE running Tiger (out of the 6 known to exist), at the Bovington museum. And I doubt they would lend it to make a movie anyway, its priceless. With that said they did a pretty god job, and were careful not to show it's side as the road wheels are a dead give-away.

  • Well then. It seemed that Tiger tanks built from T-34s were present before SPR.

  • @MHXDownfall You should see the one they made for the movie Ballad of a Soldier, it's a Soviet movie, the Tiger's made out of T-34's are hilariously made.

  • i like the war of the world tribute as well

  • Great movie and actors. Top stuff.

  • Love this movie, love this sequence. The spaghetti western tribute is hilarious.

It's the type of movie where you get the feeling that everyone had a good time making it.
