  • I think this game makes a bad sequel but if you rate the game as a solo story it's okay. Yeah, they failed on the mapping and exploration, and don't even get me started on the "revamped" Anders, but overall it isn't that bad. I was hugely disappointed at first but then after a few plays I decided I still like the game. It's not perfect but it has it's own strengths too. I thought your review was very well thought out and even if I disagree with you on some points it's still a good review.

  • not trying to disrespect anyones opinion but personally i could care less about the fighting style. what REALLY blew me away and made me agry about this game was the graphics. the elves are absolutely horrible. whoever took over the character designs should have been fired. i was soo so sad to see what they had done to zevran and some of the other firmiliar faces of origins. also had a dalish elf character and it was so disappointing to see the old clan again XC. thumbs up if u agree XD

  • i dont see why everyone hates on DA2 and think DA:O is some game from the gods. honestly i liked DA2 over DA:O

  • @reaper1545 my reason for hating DA2 is because several things(talking to your party members, choosing your race, armor/inventory system, a combat system that actually works) were taken out. Sequels should add, not take away.

  • @alondite345 talking about the combat system, DA2's combat was made for more console gamers not pc gamers. so they did add. added so it wouldnt be another sucky game for the consoles

  • @reaper1545 the only good thing added was being able to command party members to move to specific locations. Taking out lots of other things is just unacceptable.

  • @alondite345 okay play DA:O on console then play DA2 on console and tell me whats better.

  • @reaper1545 I do have DA: origins on xbox360, and borrowed DA2 from a friend. Origins was better. Origins lets you explore more, rather than just being stuck in the same city for 10 years, and the class you choose makes people react to you differently. Example: playing as an elf, the Dalish elf clans will be more welcoming to you than a human character.

  • @alondite345 yet if you payed enough attention to the story of DA2 youll know you dont need to travel all over the world for the story. since most of the story is about the political state and being for or against slavery, and templars vs mages you dont need to travel all over for it. story wise DA2 beats the crap outa DAO originality wise.

  • @reaper1545 If you open your eyes, you'll see that BioWare got lazy. The last game had exploration, what's the logic thing to do when making the sequel? Keep it in, but BioWare decided to make a half-assed sequel. If you like this game, awesome. But I still say it's a bad sequel.

  • @reaper1545 Dragon age 2 doesn't beats DAO in storyline , lol u gotta be kidding , DAO had 100 times better storyline then DA2 ,

  • @SkywinII i agree but thank goodness it let you import some of the saved material from origins.and i don't know about you but seeing some of the old gang from origins was far from thrilling once you saw what those character designers had done to them XC.

  • @darkvixenkillu1 True but didn't bother to buy the game after played the Demo and watched Gameplays , hated that they used the new dark spawn , liked the old one's better and alot more stuff =p

  • @SkywinII oh yea because your the last gray warden and the only one who can kill the arch demon makes for a good story. hell even ign says the plot of DAO was sub par.

  • @reaper1545 That's a great story but idk you got no taste and You aren't the last Grey warden in DA:O lol stop write and start read more, your taste is dumbed down game with Same Cave , Same Town , Not a good storyline boring as shit and Nothing doesn't change at all ingame

  • @SkywinII lol oh your funny. XD the whole plot of DA2 is about the political and religious battles of would be leaders of kirkwall. I will agree the same caves and town was lame, but since the story is for that area you dont need to travel across the world to advance the story.

  • I agree, I enjoyed it, but as you said the let down was the reuse of the areas, by act 3 i'd had enough, and simply because of that I find the game a massive disappointment, and haven't bought any of the DLCs and won't be pre-ordering the next instalment, I might end up getting it, but not until I see reviews, i've lost alot of faith in it.

  • DA2 is nothing up to par with the original, I loved that game so much..now I have given up on the franchise :(

  • Wow an accurate review of DA 2, I'm impressed! If I've said it once I've said it a million times, DA: O and DA 2 are both great games they just appeal to different types of gamers, imo if you combined the best parts of both you'd have one of the best rpg's ever.

  • Not sure what all this hate is about, I like it so far.

  • this game flop

  • THE GAME IS A TOTAL CRAP , DONT BUY THAT SHIT

  • Great layout for your vid!

  • I keep hearing the best way to play DA2 is with a Mage. Is this true? Can anyone backup that opinion or offer an alternate? I'm still finishing DA Origins and am a Mage there. I like it because I have a few tanks with me. I wanted to try a Rogue in DA2 though.

  • @clovis2012 The game is twice as fun as a mage in my opinion.

  • @clovis2012 Rogue is the strongest in DA2, followed by mage, then tank.

  • @clovis2012 Well I think what people ment is it seemed that Bioware envisioned Hawk as a Male Mage. Especially with how the main story progresses being a mage is a very interesting experience. However being another class does not detract from the story, but all previews show Hawke as a Mage so my guess is that Bioware wanted people to be a Mage

  • @clovis2012 You know that the best tank in origins is a mage right?

  • must admit i recently bought the game on the ps3 and i am enjoying it so far how many playable character's are there anyone tell me?

  • I don't get how people can hate this... It's amazing, aldo not as good as Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age II is also great... Great review BTW, I subbed :3

  • I love DAO and hate DA2, the gameplay may has been improved but there is less tactics and the world which only includes kirkwall and a few boring locations arround it, sucks, the story is also soooo freakin boring -.-

  • personally i played dragon age 2 first and after i beat it the first time it was like i kept getting drawn into the game i personally give it a 8/10 because of the areas getting used over and over

  • What's the lvl cap

  • i like ur reviews. gives me a very good insight. i think i might try this game... too bad i didnt really like DA1

  • @OmfgWhoStoleMyName you didnt like dao? your crazy. I heard this games way better

  • @MrAlexR123 not from this guy from a bunch of friends.

  • @MrAlexR123 yea... i didnt like DAO. the story line and dialog was amazing. but the game play was lacking. it felt as if i was playing single player wow except i had to control 4 people... In addition, the environment was terrible, as if i was playing a game made 7 years ago. The enemies were also lame, and fights were boring.

  • nice job best review of the game

  • I think you got this review pretty much perfect. Great game, shame about the overuse of the same cave/dungeon layout.

  • I am debating whether to get this game for $14 for xbox (presuming I am ok with xbox graphics) Is it worth playing if I didn't finish Dragon Age Origins?

  • @StopFear Good question. DA2 has practically nothing to do with DA:O. For $14 is actually not a bad deal for this game, although (in my opinion) I find DA:O more superior.

    DA:O = Dragon Age: Origins

    DA2 = Dragon Age 2

Hope I helped you out. ;)

  • @StopFear for 14$ HELL YEAH!

  • The graphics may be better technically, but I find them ugly; it's just an uninspired brown backround. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the game, the story was great, the fighting was better than Origins despite the lack of the strategic camera view (you have to play in the hardest difficulty to fully apreciate it), but the game feels rushed. It could have been a lot better. Bioware missed a chance to create a masterpiece.

  • Also, the one thing I'm having trouble understanding is how they justify putting horns on the Qunari now.

  • I haven't played it, but from what I understand of my friends telling me about it, it's a good game, just a bit of a letdown after Origins.

  • lol he said massive when the chick with the big bobbies came out 6:00

  • @TheRebirth95 The 560m is a laptop card. The "m" on the end of 560 means mobility. How did you put a laptop card into a desktop?

  • ****** not try to be that douchebag but i built a desktop with the same specs but i have a nvidia 560m graphics card. but i cant run this on very high or with any AA higher that\n like 20fps -___- very confused and disappointed since i just shelled out all my money. suggestions?

  • i want a free ps3 :'(

  • yeah the recycled maps are annoying. It only takes place in one city... thats like saying every single building in New York City is the exact same. Since bioware decided the entire game would take place in Kirkwall, im wondering why they were so lazy about that, otherwise, decent game.. but DA:O was better :P

  • The gameplay was a great change. But the plot, graphics, sound track and the size of the world you could explore were an extreme disappointment

  • This is scary! Our characters looks exactly the same! Cept mine was a warrior

    Elf fetisch haah! Thats good.

I simply must say that when a RPG game got equal amount Action, exploration and story...it is not an RPG but an Action-RPG and people did not want that out of the Dragon Age games. Dragon Age was proclaimed to be the successor of Baldurs Gate. So Dragon Age 2 was a heresy on the old. Also Bioware made one big mistake, by making Dragon Age II into Action RPG, the Witcher 2 slapped it hard.

  • I agree when you said that despite all the faults the game was great.. It indeed was, cause dragon age gameplay makes it damm addictive... Having said that, dragon age 2 was a good maybe great game while DAO was an epic amazing game, that will remain in RPG history

  • My thoughts are that it is a decent game but it is NOT DRAGON AGE, it should be renamed and sold as something different. to call this dragon age is just absurd.

  • @TheArcaneSanctum Agreed. They should have just called it Dragon age: the champion of kirkwall instead of DA2.

  • I think you missed the big reason this game fails a lot of the people that complained about it...there is no toolset. Dragon Age Origins vanilla is a great game, modded, it is legendary. That's the biggest problem. We cannot fix the game, we cannot change or add environs, we cannot change character models, we cannot fix flaws or add to the storyline. If they do release the toolset it will be too late at this point. Swotor is right around the corner and has all of the best Bioware staff with it.

  • one thing im going to majorly disagree with you with is the graphics, I can play Origins on highest settings no problem, i can only play this on medium settings and it looks like shit

  • @spartandud3 Do you even realize what you said does not disprove anything he said about the graphics? Try thinking.

  • @TheArcaneSanctum how doesnt it? it means the graphics for this game are poorly optimized and even on full are'nt that good tbh. try thinking?

  • @spartandud3 Because you stated you did not have settings on max so it is no wonder the graphics will be of lesser value.

  • @TheArcaneSanctum of course i have them on medium, while i have hardware capable of running Witcher 2 on medium settings, DA:O on high settings, Crysis on high settings, Fallout 3/NV on highsettings, much better looking games i cant for somereason run this on high settings. therefore its poorly opimised (no good reason for that) and even on highest settings it doesnt look all that good tbh

  • I really agree with you. This game is great, and the main plot is fantastic. The only downside is the low variety of places, but i've played my way through the game several times, enjoyed it every time and simply can't wait for the third game!

  • @kanwulfNL

So you're saying you would like youtube clogged up with more videos of the exact same thing.

  • Truer review has never been told. The game play was great compared to DA1 but the overall lack of scenery killed this game for me, but to be honest the major issue i had with this game was the gorilla hands on the "hot" females. Within the first 3 minutes of the game my mind was in loops at the deformed beyond all reasoning hands on the character that is supposed to be your sister and then later at the other 80% of female characters of the game and one would think that should have been fixed.

  • I don't understand why everyone has to be such a jerk to you, I personally like your reviews the best.

  • @Ragingbeast345 It's the internet, it's expected.

  • @ZeitgeistReview yea well imo the world need a better of understanding of eachother stop the hate feel the love and im not a pot smoking hippy lol im a boxer father son uncle (see the picture)

  • @ZeitgeistReview

Don't get me wrong I wasn't trying to throw you under the bus or anything because I agree with most of what you said regarding this game. It is true people trashed it without giving it a fair chance. I find the game fun and i actually like it. However there were a few things that you said in your review that weren't quite accurate and you forgot to mention what I brought up. You just made it sound as there isn't that much to do is all.

  • It is extremely rare that you have to pause the game during combat. And what he said at 05:37 - 05:41 it's nothing like it was in origins, which is totally untrue other than not being able to get the camera high, it's exactly the same as Origins

If you have to pause the game during combat then you aren't playing the game correctly because the tactics make the game different from pausing...Don't believe me then just ask anyone I've fully detailed explained how to use the Tactics menu/system.

  • Doesn't anyone understand how to utilize the tactics menu/system properly? The same exact thing happened with Dragon Age Origins. When people couldn't undesrtand the tactics or didn't care they simply went solo and destroyed the games playablity. Seriously people resort to using a rogue to solo the damn game and that's not actually playing the game, that's just being stupid.

    @degunshow

he wants to actually play the game itself. Using a rogue is useless for playing considering Varric is a rogue.

  • @degunshow

he doesn't need all that crap there is an easier way to play.

  • @MPC4Utube k

  • @MPC4Utube You sir are a idiot.. go make ur own review if u think u can do better

  • @MPC4Utube So that gives bioware an excuse to be lazy instead of creating MORE areas for side quest?

  • @MPC4Utube That's not true at all. Most of the quest have entirely different settings, especially when starting new acts, and yet they still use the same places. Bioware recycles the hell out of Dragon Age II's areas.

  • Be rather interesting to see what'll happen if DAO becomes a mmorpg.

  • tbh I'm abit of a freak and played Dragon Age Origins for a total of 340 hours, I played threw several times on Nigthmare and each time I tried to do each room perfect without using heal/mana potions, so at the end of each play through I had 100+ health pots in my bag. I bought Dragon age 2 even after reading the negative reviews, played it for 6 hours and havn't touched it sence. I just couldn't see myself replaying it on nightmare over and over.

  • @degunshow Nightmare? I die alot apparently on normal <.<

  • @degunshow how do you do it on nightmare i ind it hard as fuck on normal. any tips??

  • @Ezza232499 be a rouge and spec into backstabbing, also make lots of bombs

  • I have Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition from Steam and I am loving it, I'm glad my PC can take it ;) I like the actiony parts looking at Dragon Age II and hope that this was an experiment for Dragon Age III; That's kind what they did with Mass Effect 2 in making it more shooter than RPG rather than Mass Effect 1 that was more RPG than shooter, and Mass Effect 3 looks to be more shooter and RPG than both combined. I will buy this is EA gets back on seam and i can get it cheap.

  • The first Dragon age was just a LOTR clone in comparison to this. why does every story have to be the same? This game's story actually built up to something. Unlike Dragonage 1 where the arch demon is unthreatening, generic and suffers from Sauron syndrome and just sits on its ass the whole game and does nothing but get killed by whoever. The only plot threads i cared about in the first game were Denerim and Redcliffe.

  • @Syranus66 LOTR clone? Thats like saying star wars is a star trek clone just because it has space ships.

  • @Trollgamingnews ArchDemon= Sauron, why? they both sit on their ass and do nothing at all

Darkspawn= Mordor Orcs they look and act like mordor orcs

    Alphas = Urukai

Why is it a LOTR clone? The plot is essentially the same, save the world from a demonic force that has a vast army that covers the land in darkness.

  • @Syranus66 That is applied to wayyy toooo many things, that would be like im calling movies b-z clones because they have main characters like movie A.

  • @Trollgamingnews SO every story has to have an idiot antagonist with no motivation or personality and sits on its ass the whole time just to be killed in the end.

Its a weak story telling tool and shouldn't be a fantasy staple. Can't an antagonist, especially in a rated M game HAVE A DAMN MOTIVATION! HAVE A DAMN CHARACTER, HAVE A BLOODY FIELD PRESENCE! HAVE A VOICE AS THE BLOODY LEAST. I don't call sitting there and roaring dialogue, i don't call sitting on ass menacing.

  • @Syranus66 Its a demon a demon has no purpose but to destroy mankind, a leader doesn't constantly stick his neck out just to "amuse" your apparent ADHD. Do you think hitler would have been around long if he was out there fighting on the field?? Do you want the game to tease you but having you constantly fight him yet not kill him until the very end? Apparently you have a very odd taste in cinematic storytelling that causes you to bitch all the time.

  • @Trollgamingnews and you seem to be ignoring the fact that its a weak story telling element if all you can do is copy Tolkien every time. When playing through origins the darkspawn don't pose enough of a threat to cause concern. Why is this? you barely fight them at all. YOu fight them at ostagar, Barely in orzimar, and at the end only.

    (to be continued)

  • @Trollgamingnews What do you fight throughout the game? People in the pocket of Logain, humans who were cursed by an elf on his period, a blatantly good vs evil rivalry situation in Orzimar, Monsters spawned by an apostate child, Abominations taking over the circle tower. Point is the darkspawn are a threat in word only. We don't see enough of the Horde to really see them as much of a threat. Instead they just appeared as gruntings who looked like orcs. (continued)

  • I had no problems with most of the characters, for the most part they were fine (save the spanish elf that barely develops at all) (Ogren was ok, i liked Varic better though) To be fair i think Fenris in this game could of been adjusted so he doesn't come off as a FF7 character, however surprisingly the only dialogue that made him tolerable was his banter with Anders and the others.

    (continued)

  • Btw, does every story need to have some characterless monsters who want to destory the planet for no reason or explaination as to why they are doing it?

I would of been fine with the story of Origins if the Arch Demon had A CHARACTER! If the Darkspawn had a motivation or if perhaps the darkspawn were more present. Maybe if Logain wasn't such a pride and vengance consumed idiot for trying to kill the grey wardens which i might add...ARE THE ONLY THING THAT CAN KILL THE ARCHDEMON!

  • @Syranus66 The darkspawn are mages fallen from heaven they aren't these complex criminals with some practical goal. The main point of the story isn't the premise either, which you seem to be focused on. It's the characters and backstory and smaller quarrels happening around the world.

  • @Trollgamingnews The plot-story is all i am criticising. Everything else is FINE! My argument is that Dragonage 2 had a better story that focused on something that actually impacted everyone and everything within the setting. And no i am not blind to the fact that the blight was a prominent plot device but With dragon age 2 we actually get to see whats going on and what the consequences of either side killing the other will cause. Btw, the ending to DA2 got me more excited for the next game

  • @Syranus66 Dragon age 2s story is little more than doing chores for everyone (at least all of act 1) and going through the deep roads was dull, I liked the idea of someone else telling the story but in the beginning of act i am bombarded with people saying "hello hawke whats up!" when i don't even know them. The characters aren't as enjoyable either, all the men are whiney. The only really strong character is varric

  • @Trollgamingnews Again i ask DOES EVERYTHING NEED TO BE A LOTR CLONE! Dragon age 2 was about alot more than what you described. It was about the breaking point between the mages and templars. On side its a revolution, the other all hell has broken loose. It was the events leading up to what was bound to happen. In the first game we were presented with the tension between mages and templars. Now we get to see what happens when the peace is shattered. Acts one and two were building up to it.

  • @Syranus66 If i analyse it further its the ultimate extent between racial, religious, power and chaos within the Dragon age universe. The Kunari served as an example of a foriegn race with a different custom from ours and the majority of people treated them like monsters. Do i agree with the Qunari? no but i see the point of having them here. The reason it was all within a city was because it was a demonstration of what happens when the Mages, Templars, Qunari, People collide.

  • @Syranus66 Act 1 was about your PC character rising out of the slums and into the Hightown. Act 2 was about the threat of public opinion and the Kunari. Act 3 was about the fallout between mage and Templar. And because of Anders everything went to hell. Now the Mages and Templars at war with each other. This is just my opinion but Anders was an antagonist of sorts for this game. No matter who you side with Anders ignites the flames of hate between the two groups.

  • why the hell aren't there more extensive console controllers designed specifically for RPG's? this genre shouldn't be just limited to the PC.

  • and 8 out of 10

  • How much did they pay you to do this review??.....just joking....

  • Buy it?

  • i hated this game, it was so boring the entire game is in kirkwall and i couldn't finish it because of how repetitive it was, what a waste of money. if you want a good game buy fallout 1 and 2.

  • This should not be called dragon age 2 . That's a disgrace, this game blows compared to origins.

  • 2:55 looks a hell of a lot like Natalie Portman

  • i have only one thing to complain about with this game....there is a huge repition of stages on it....but everything else is badass...i absolutely loved it!.....

  • @JavaSpitLava You sir may be the reason why I will buy this game or just stare at it until the store closes and then put all my cash in a parking meter even though I don't have a car and I wouldn't park it in such a dangerous neighbourhood. Wait who are you again?

  • @whitehawk1997 dude get it....its a long ass game....and so many different things you can be....there are two different types of rouge, and warrior.....and like 5 to 8 different kinds of mages you can be

  • It's a good game but I'm looking for more Baldur's Gate esque game rather than a Dynasty Warriors esque game. Unfortunately, Dragon Age 2 just went on a different direction than what I would have liked.

  • Some one else who really enjoyed DA2!

  • @RomeoCo raises hand

  • Pc gamers are such babies, this game was fun

  • "Only when compared to the original does the game come up short." The came is a sequel, therefore it has to be compared to the original. If they took out the Dragon Age part of the name then it could be looked at as a standalone game. However, the game is more adventure than RPG, and its repetitive nature of having to visit the same half dozen small areas over and over kill its fun. The game was made for 360 fanboys. Give me back my PC RPG.

  • @dwcai81

This game was amazing. The writing crushed Origins. But, Origins was admittedly more fun. When I sent alistar to the final blow, I was like 'Meh.' Cause I really didn't care for him at all. The writing in this game made me feel for the characters. When something bad happens i felt like shit and needed redemption. I spent a good 10 minutes thinking between each major decision. Bitch and cry if you will, but this game was awesome.

  • still playing through this one. And totally agree with all you said in your review, its an excellent game and only over shadowed by the original - which is defo better

  • stop bitching, shut up and play the game. Like it? Buy it.

  • After playing the Witcher 2... I just cannot play this game anymore :L

  • Taking Origins out of consideration, DA2 was outstanding. I like the way the story is told. The battle system in hands of an epic gamer on nightmare mode is astonishingly epic and brutally satisfying. This game must be played on nightmare to get the most out of this game. My complaints are minor. Repetitive level design, no nudity, female Hawke being more badass than male hawke, Anders (that guy...i hate him so much, I mean I'm on your side already shut up about being oppressed already.)

  • i still think that the witcher 2 was the best rpg game i have played yet.

  • @djBC10000 lucky basterd :@ i've been wanting to play witcher 2 since before it came out because i know how amazing the first one was. But unfortunately, my pci-e slot is dead, and the onboard gpu is crap, AND the cpu has gone haywire meaning I can't play any new game for pc. forking out about $400 for new parts is just too much for a couple of games. I wished they released witcher 2 for ps3 :(

  • seems like there's alot less freedom in this game...translation...gay.

  • @1982patriot It's not a lot less, its pretty much the same as origins in terms of freedom. Well actually there are a few less areas than origins, but you get my point.

  • @Crashandburn999 what about decisions that create branching story line? How does it compare to the original in that regard? That was one of my favorite parts of the first one.

  • @1982patriot It's about the same in that regard. One thing that disappointed me though, was you know the ending of origins? you know how it tells you what happened after the events of origins depending on your personal decisions throughout the game? well that ending part is almost non existent in dragon age 2. That was extremely disappointing for me. Also the games story isn't as good as origins, and is kinda boring during the first act and first half the second. But dragon age 2 is a good game.

  • Thinking about getting this game. Never beat the first game. Enjoyed the demo of DA 2 on Xbox. So if I play 2 will I be completly lost?

  • plz i wanna know this game can be played multiplayer or not and plz if you know some multiplayer games on xbox 360 plz say to me

  • I enjoyed both, but the combat in da2 made dao's look like shit

  • Dragon age Origins is just a higher quality game overall, but DA2 is still pretty good. It has what a 82 on metacritic? That sounds about right.

  • I'm in no way disappointed by DA 2. Yes, there's a single city instead of a continent, yes, the fighting is somewhat simpler than in the original installment. Still I'm having lots of fun playing it. The game is as absorbing as the DAO

  • = = i felt DA 2 its alot better than DA 1 , like ME 2 its 10X better than ME 1 lol

  • i dont get it if people expected a sequel that was exactly like dragon age origins, then play dragon age origins. i have both, and they are both amazing in their own right.

  • SUGI PULA

  • 7:55 - 8:11 i had no fucking clue on what yuh were saying.......

  • @KjvYaBoyIsHere Then that part of the review was not for you ;-)

  • @ZeitgeistReview Is your favourite word "Badass"? It seems to be in all your reviews buddy

  • @KjvYaBoyIsHere Lol that was pretty basic stuff you know.

  • dragon age Origin was to linear to me from the beginning they told you what was going to happen.

Dragon age 2 surprised me.0 Me I've played alot of RPGs, and I really dont want to fully customize my team mates. I just like to change their weapons. Both of the DAs were fun.

But if you look at DA2 it is a guy telling the story, look at as if he is very descriptive in the story.

  • @lilbladeknight I agree. I was really impressed with the story in the second game while I like the more classic epic feel of the first one, too.

  • ok,I had fun with this game....and now,Im STILL thinking about Playin Origins again...Damn I WANTED Dragon age ORIGINS 2... :((

  • I've just started playing the game and am only a few hours in, I'm liking it so far but I'm losing some of the experience I think because I'm comparing everything with it's Origins counterpart and so far Origins is winning.

  • You know, I get the impression that complainers think they're some kind of noble defenders of true gaming. They're not. They're just people who complain. And complain. And complain. And it gets bloody annoying.

  • @Audioepics Same could be said about the defenders aswell.

  • @veach78 Maybe about a few of them, there will always be offenders on both sides. But really I think many are just people who want to enjoy and discuss the game they like without having others ruin it for them by souring the mood in the community. It's like I'm trying to watch a movie I happen to like but there's someone sitting next to me who is constantly whining out loud about how bad it is. I know that's not the same, but the feeling becomes a bit similar to that.

  • @Audioepics Ya them complainers need to shut up and let companies dish out money grabs. Yes a lot of complainers go to far but they have as much right as you do. But if there were no complainers out there i would hate to see what companies would produce just for the quick buck.

  • @veach78 Everyone has the right to complain when they don't ilke a product but a lot of what I've seen has little to do with that anymore. There's a line where it's no longer about opinions and it becomes very arrogant and haughty. By the way, I'm not suggesting you are one of those people. Anyway, I love both Dragon Ages but have criticisms to both of them, too. If you ask me, the third one could be truly incredible if they put to practice all the lessons they've learned.

  • This game is not as bad as people are making it out to be. If you nerds actually stop comparing this to DA:O than you will realize that it is actually a good game with a few issues. Why do people always compare? Recycled environments, some bugs and glitches and less RPG elements are the major problems but if can be tolerated than this can be a really fun game.

  • @fan977

Because it is simply fucking boring to go through the same dungeon over and over again? Most important aspects of a RPG is the world and that is the biggest failure in DA2. So of course a lot of ppl, not only nerds, are simply pissed. Because some stupid casual gamers think DA2 is fine doesnt make it a good game. It has shitty graphics, stupid dialogs, worst world ever, boring story, ugly UI. Only the combat is better, but that is only because the combat in DA1 was not very good.

  • @miro1985 You're calling me a casual gamer? I've been playing video games since the genesis days and have played games of almost all the genres and beaten a large n.o of them just because i still like a sequel when it has been toned down for casual gamer doesn't make me a casual gamer it just doesn't make me a sad fanboy. DA 2 still had a good story, graphics are better than DA:O despite a few bugs , voice acting is decent but the music is still good. Its not an great game but its not awful.

  • @fan977

The graphics are shit. The story is boring. And the voice acting is ruined by a very bad script for braindeads. DA2 IS awfull.

  • @miro1985 you, sir, are an idiot.

  • @fan977 The reason why people are comparing it to DA:O is, and yeah pretty simple here, because it´s Dragon Age "2". It was advertised as the great sequel of DA:O, so you should think that Bioware would produce something at least equally good. I could agree with you that this game on its own is ok to play and fun, but they made DA:O fans think that this will be "the great sequel" for so long that I, like most others, am just pissed. No hate if you like it, just sayin´.

  • @fan977 Yeah, why did so many people expected a sequel to a game they loved I mean just because it is called Dragon Age 2 that doesnt mean it has to be a sequel, why do people keep comparing it to its superior ancestor?? And really an RPG with less Rpg elements, can only be a good thing right?

  • @pizzapicante27 There is a difference between toning down rpg elements and completely removing the rpg elements DA 2 clearly had better combat than the first the ones who are butthurt over the fact the game's rpg elements have been reduced are rpg nerds. I had no problem with them reducing rpg elements in 2 considering they made the combat better in some aspects.

  • @fan977 I totally agree and I am one of many people who did not like the first game at all.

  • @fan977 Hey hey, don't sugar coat it. The combat in DA2 is better than DA:O in every way. Say what ya mean bra!

  • @pizzapicante27 I'm not sure what you mean by "less RPG elements". Leveling up? Check. Talent/Skill trees? Check. Tons of armor and weapon options? Check. Various classes? Check. Tactical combat? Check. What exactly is missing from DA2 that was available in DA:O, aside from a larger world?

  • @BeerTimeGaming to some people customizing their team mates.

  • @BeerTimeGaming

-Because Leveling TOTALLY makes an RPG

-there are no skills, i don't think it means what you think it means

    -fair enough

-that means nothing, many NON-RPG games posses classes, and even some RPGs don't posses classes

-not exactly, it was there, but it was nullified by stupid waves which throw tactics out of the water, Regular enemies with STUPID amounts of health, etc.

also put things like Crafting(it's barely there, you won't use it), no team customization from Origins, etc..

  • @WillyWallace100 When did I say leveling was the only aspect of an RPG? All of those aspects combined make it an RPG.The terms skills, abilities and talents are interchangeable. It all depends on the game you're talking about. Having waves of enemies is harder than knowing exactly what to expect, and having to readjust your tactics on the fly takes a degree of awareness most people don't posses. I never used crafting in DA:O. Poisons weren't necessary and potions were easy enough to find.

  • @BeerTimeGaming having waves of enemies is not a way of making the way harde, it's just cheap to prolong the game, like making the enemies have ridiculous amounts of health.

there are abilities in DA2 but not Skills, and yes it depends on the game we are talking about.

neither game had a good crafting system but DA2's was just beyond horrible and useless.

  • @WillyWallace100 Rune crafting was a lot easier and more useful in DA2 than in DA:O. As far as crafting goes, runes are the only thing worth mentioning, making the crafting in DA2 better by default

  • @BeerTimeGaming false, the rune crafting made DAO's a lot easier, while in DA2, i never ONCE used it, not to mention there are things in DAO like trap making, whichi means it has more.

but whatever, let's drop this, experiences may vary depending on the gamer.

  • @WillyWallace100 Fair enough. I liked both games. DA:O is overall better, but I still think DA2 is a good game.
