The pussy in this was liambus for hitting a player from behind. Take a second look at thiseven when Fanelli turned his back this bastard didn't even slow down....HE SPED UP !!!!

Clean Hit.... he didnt hit with his elbow. Its ben fault, first of all he didnt wear his helmet properly and he also turned his back completely knowing he was about to get hit. he tried to dodge the hit but completely failed.

However, I must say that there is only one reason for a check and that is to 'separate the player from the puck' if this was an open ice check and both going for the puck at the same time, there are no boards and the impact energy would dissipate.

@tavini15 His helmet broke on the play. I was standing right in that corner when he was hit. He was wearing his helmet correctly. Also, Liambas used the goaltender as a shield so Ben never saw him coming. Ben thought he had lots of time but lost the puck in his feet.. He turned to see where it was and that's when Liambas came out of know-where. And the reason no one jumped Liambas is because the ref was protecting him...

i dont think he shoul have been gone for the season. thats a little harsh..Liambus wa finishing his check. there was nothing wrong wth the hit itself, but the fact that finelli turned at the last minute screwed him over...he had a loose helmet, and his head hit the ice. Liambas couldnt help that. The authority figures in sports needto look at te intent of the hits more then the outcome. Injuries happen. This was not by any mean intentional.

it was a hit gone wrong, ya it was bad but suspended for a year? maybe banned for life, thats too much. Ya he got hurt pretty bad but the rules say u can hit another player as hard as you want, it just ended up unfortunate. Charging is the best penalty you can take in hockey... besides you can come around from behind the net with your head down and not expect to be hit. He would have been fine if he didn't turn his body at the end. Good hit dont think the guy below me has played hockey for more than a few years if that.
