  • 7 dislikers are jalours

  • now ive seen the movie

  • It reminds me Shadow of the Colossus a little bit...

  • Oh no i hope the us dosent remake this.not all americans are stupid.

  • where can i see the film?

  • @orlanduce buy it!!

  • @BeastlyRig where?

  • Don't remake it. They will fuck it up and the original will be buried under it. I really want to see this. The ORIGINAL as showen here before Hollywood rape it.

  • Amazing movie. I was pleasantly surprised. It is a shame they are remaking it here in the US. This is so good as-is.

  • Utrolig.

  • @cervisa3 bæsja på leggen!!!

  • What are all the programs u used

  • @TFnemesis95 We used Maya for modelling, Zbrush for sculpting, Maya for animation, Houdini for dynamics, Mantra(Houdini) for rendering, Syntheyes for tracking and Nuke for compositing.

  • @Gimpville

Hey i just saw the movie and i gotta say i was impressed. But i'm wondering were the hair and muscle systems also done in Maya? I know you said you used Houdini for dynamics but when i think dynamics i think of cloth and other vfx so sorry if i am making you repeat yourself.

  • Awesome vid!!! What software did u use?

  • @thetripodification We used Maya for modelling, Zbrush for sculpting, Maya for animation, Houdini for dynamics, Mantra(Houdini) for rendering, Syntheyes for tracking and Nuke for compositing.

  • @Gimpville did you not also use 3ds max for certain shots, I was looking at the animated rig in the vfx video and I could see it was in max, just wondering..

  • @shaunberry1982 Sorry to say but Max was not used in the production of this trolls animation. Maya and Motionbuilder were the weapons of choice.

Though there are one other troll in the movie (wich we did not create) that were done in Max.

  • oh my GOD! Holy Shit!

  • You guys did an awesome job on this, with a relatively small team, amazing.

  • Name of the song? Please!

  • @FractalBolt

"The march of the trolls", by Edvard Grieg (quite obvious...). It is usually played faster on piano, and is also known as march of the dwarves.

  • sez

  • I just saw this on demand last night. Now I want the blu-ray version to come out so I can go thru frame by frame... this kicked ass

  • Faaeen så lyst jeg har å se den filmen! Men jeg bor i usa så jeg kan ikke! :(

  • Mind = blown. MUST SEE.

  • and i thought i was going to see a documentary in the theatre.

  • The intro songs is the ''c4 song'' in the game Splinter Cell :D

  • I love Norway, trolls and edvard grieg. The only thing this movie lacks is some blackmetal. But it still blows your head.

  • 500million polygons! NICEE

  • I would like to watch this movie, where can I find it , rent it or buy it

  • @joecoz26 BUY FOR SURE!

  • Dont feed it

  • i wanna forget everything about usa!!!! NORWAY JUST TOOK A STEP!!!! this movie is like cloverfield.

  • @PBdarkraptor the originl is called REC

  • Filmen var mycket bättre än vad jag förväntat mig. Riktigt schyssta riggar på trollen! Big up! :)

  • Trolls are very much real. Just look at youtube

But god, I hope that big troll at the end doesn't a youtube account

  • it was a fantastic movie! saw this at sundance just last week. it was actually pretty long, but i loved it. definitely enough troll scenes to keep me happy! :)

  • @devianaut it only last 1 and a half hour. There are many movies released today that last 2 hours

  • @krollaostmedburger lol, well of course there are. sorry, i'm not sure if your comment was sincere or sarcastic, but i guess i should elaborate... the movie definitely FELT long. it was also a late show at sundance, so perhaps that's why. i've definitely seen 3 and 4 hour-long movies, before, so i guess i wasn't meaning to say that 1.5 hours is long. for a "mockumentary", perhaps that helped lengthen it? either way, it was a great film :)

  • @devianaut yeah. I don't really care about the lenght as long as it keeps me entertained through the whole thing

  • Badass.

  • Magnet releasing is giving away exclusive Norwegian Troll Hunter posters to celebrate our Sundance screenings!

Head over to the Magnet Releasing facebook page for a chance to win!

  • I'ma a bad troll. A very bad troll!

  • @Bidmartinlo oh no... a troll in central park.....

  • @robbern54 Actually, I live in Norway's garbagde can! D:

  • 500 million polys was reached through zbrush´s "HD sculpt" and a very highres displacementmap. It was rendered in Mantra (Houdini), wich enables it to render with less than 6 GB of ram even with this kind of polycount.

  • @Gimpville holy crap.

  • @Gimpville Hi Gimpville, I love your introduction.

  • @Gimpville Do you mind if I use it?

  • 500 MILLION POLYGONS. Wow...

  • nice ass

  • renderman / mantra ?

  • @818283848586871 Trolltog av Grieg med RFCM symfoni orkester

  • 500 Million Polygons? How much RAM do you need/have?

  • @GMLSX Im pretty sure it was rendered on multiple PC's with 24 RAM.

  • Wow!

  • Finally it's reached Scandinavia.

  • @martinmegazor what do you mean "FINALLY IT'S REACHED SCANDINAVIA"?

  • @jippiandy

What I mean is that it's great to see that these kinds of movies are finally being produced in Scandinavia. Monster movies are rarely produced here, and I guess that's been a budget issue. But with this and Rare Exports and Let the right one in things are looking brighter :)

  • dette er nok de beste spesial effektene noen gang i norsk filmhistorie

  • @Fredrik951753 Bästa effekterna i en film från Skandinavien!

  • @Fredrik951753 Slår ikke Flaaklypa :D Beste Norske noen gang
