It would have been so much better without the wasted 53 seconds at the beginning.
I only watched through that to see how many seconds I should skip on any other videos in the series. Why put the Rumores and half the Asturias on one video with no link to the second half of the Asturias, and THEN claim the Rumores is to long‽ Surely easier and more sensible to have a single video for each piece. The combination doesn't inspire confidence.
@uneedtherapy42 he really wasn't rude about it, he was just sincerely asking them to quiet down. He's playing on stage in an audience of who knows what size with know amplification imagine trying to sing outloud across a room with no microphone now try making the guitar be heard a much more difficult feat.
@AlexM1979 The difference in tension with nylon strings would be negligible, to be honest, however operating the strings at a slightly reduced tension reduces inharmonicity in the higher register and allows increased sustain of the high end harmonics, which increases overall articulation. It's particularly noticeable with heavier steel/bronze strings. i used to do it routinely with Martyn Joseph's guitars because he always plays with a capo anyway.
Apparently the "shoosh" annoyed some folks over at the AGF also. I have an Olson guitar and you'd be amazed at the craftsmanship. People at the concerts I play come up to me and want to play it. I let them. Some people ask me why I do that. My reply is always, "Why wouldn't I?"
Nice tone, but I don't agree completely with the interpretation. I think the Meno Mosso section of the main theme should sound more lyrical and legato.
you are my favorite forever

I wonder why he has his tuned his guitar down a 1/2 step(to Eb).

@MrShadowKitty This guitar is a particularly delicate instrument. Higher tension might be detrimental both structurally and tonally.

@uneedtherapy42
I have no problem at all with it. The guitar is best heard when the audience is quietly listening. Excellent playing.

Imagine....La Leona!
Amazing, that "she" can sing that well after all those years.
I understand why she is famous.
Analphabet 118, I once had a set of Savarez strings, where third string was
plastic wound, - white. It sounded a little less "dead", but very scratchy.
