i luv tortoises and turtles! they r ALOT faster than some people think! i also luv how they cant bite into round foods such as cherry tomatoes.... so cute!
i got a tortise in tunisia. i have him for about 4 years now. he is about 5-6 inches long now. when i got him he was the size of a golfball. i've tried loads of different food and calcium but he will only eat iceburg lettuce. i have in in a tank 3ft long 1.5 ft wide. he looks like yours but not nearly as big. the weather in ireland doesnt allow to let him outdoors. should i build bigger tank?
What you need to do is starve it. Iceburg lettuce does exactly nothing for sulcatas as it's mostly water, but it tastes good. It won't die from a few days of starvation, these aren't childrens. They starve for days out in the wild and still survive. Starve it for a few days and it'll start eating hay. It sounds cruel, but these are wild animals.
How about you post a video of your sulcata with the perfect shell. Lets see the proof that hay makes a round shell instead of just quoting misinformed websites.
Her shell had the pyramids when I got this turtoise 2 years ago. Her shell has rounded out a lot compared to what it was. She is happy, healthy and friendly. She feeds on grasses mainly but gets treats once in a while.
Cute! Nomz nomz....
