  • @Myrtle791- I couldn't stop laughing about your message of not a paloma blanca

but instead a condor negro...I don't know why it struck me so funny...LOL!

  • E

    S

    P

    ECTACULAR...ABRAZOS DESDE TEXAS !

  • I am a cider drinker!

  • RIP Jimmy

  • R I P Jimmy ...............

  • R.I.P. Jimmy Saville forever in our hearts </3

  • Haha. BBC stock footage obviously has no dove in flight in their archive. They do do their best.

  • @vordman

Not only did BBC have no dove picture, remember Jackie Wilson said by Dexys Midnight Runners? I ask you , a picture of Jockey Wilson!!!

    dexys

  • I am zyder drinker, i drinks it all of the day

  • @SarahSmith666 Oo arr oo arr oo arr ey

  • 1975, pik-up, discuri de vinil, 11 ani si o fata la o reunine pionerească, invățam să dansez...

  • Is it me or does the beginning of the song get people wanting to watch the Flinstones

  • Jimmy Savile's dance is hilarious!

  • George Baker sang "I can smell the new-born hay." JK sings "new mown" hay. Now ask you, which makes more sense? :-)

  • I remember being in my car seat as a toddler ridding around with my mom in her 1970 Ford Maverick while this played on her AM radio!

  • The song itself is garbage.

  • wasn't born when this came out, but it was on in the pub the other night on some 70's cd. we could of sworn he was singing "ooohhh you'm-a you'm-a wanker". still a terrible song though, you can see why northern soul was so big back then when this shit was the alternative.

  • well done Mr Archangel

    How I agree with you

  • SierraAnkaria1313...R.I.P. My Father also loved this song.,They are both in heaven..... LOOKING down on us.

  • Quite a good version but think i prefer the original by George Baker Selection.

  • george baker is better

  • my father just passed away, this was one of his favorite songs. Rest In Peace daddy

    David Edward Stone Sr. November 12, 1956-June 25, 2011

  • @SierraAnkaria1313 what lovely memories, my dad liked this one too, vey much so. Bless our dads ,rip.

  • Buckwheat rocks it better.

  • I see Jimmy Saville was being a wanker as usual :) gotta love his hair!

  • who is better baker or king????

  • @sjmmrcrdd Baker in my opinion.

  • @sjmmrcrdd King !!!

  • una panocha blanca!!!

  • An absolute shit song. Fit just for Germans having "fun" in beer halls. Jonathan King (who could never sing) showed his "talent" to jump on the band wagon

  • @pinchold 100% agreement!

  • who is this guy at the beginning?

  • @Outsid3 It's Jimmy Savile. He's famous for having spent about 40 years doing what you see here.

  • To be honest, having the same song in the charts performed by different artists was not unusual into the 1970s.

It was still a bunch of old europap all the same.

King did some interesting stuff in the 60s though.

  • Dave here. The song may be "Una Paloma Blanca," but the bird in the video is Un Condor negro que Pasa. };-]

  • @Myrtle791 Thanks, yes. What's up with that condor as a paloma blanca? No stock footage of a white dove over the Andes, I guess.

  • good song, but I like the Wurzels, I'm a zider Drinker, a good cover version

  • thanks for posting this video buddy...!!

  • he recorded some rubbish this guy

  • melodi de neuitat din ani tinereti mele

  • but it's a condor?

  • @herrtrigger77 Nope, it's a Bald Eagle.

  • George Baker sang the better version. MUCH better..

  • This song just popped into my head today after reading a book about the Passenger Pigeon. I probably haven't heard it since it was a hit in the 70s. But the first few clips of a big dark bird flying are of an Andean Condor, which would probably eat a white dove.

  • man, that hairdue is just awesome. LOL

  • One of my favorite "Get Drunk With My Euro Friends" songs.

  • Q idiot the video .. it is called a white dove and they show a condor of them walk. Ajjajajjaja---- que tonto el video. habla de una paloma blanca y muestran un condor de los andes. jajajajajaja

  • I used to think its paul mccartney.he's so much like him.

  • Stackridge blows this poof away!!

  • alguien tiene este tema en español?

se lo agradecira que lo publicaran

  • rest in piece andrie my best friend

  • this is a big rip very sad

  • shite

  • Thanks very much qalbi ... Oh I love it I feel so happy :)))

  • omg this is amazingwaw

  • this is great i love it

  • its a shame, dont get to hear his records played anywhere now, wonder if we would hear m jackson played if he was found guilty?

  • claudair pedro apresentando o programa

  • Love this song. Reminds me of being a kid. Was whistling today and wondering what it was any why!

  • It's amazing how music brings the world together :) I remember this as a tiny child!

  • Una paloma blanca... ce bine e sa speli banca!

    Romani pe aici? Nimic?

  • It's not a stupid question quehanna but no, they are not the same person!

  • So, this may be a stupid question, but is this singer the same guy who is playing drums in the George Baker video????

  • @quehannaband ...... Err .... No it isn't!

  • una =1, paloma =dove ,blanca=white. dont know where pigeon comes into it they are not white any way...

  • oi!!

A dove is in the pigeon family..

  • This version is great!

  • Beautiful song!

  • I remember them both. George Baker gets my vote. Just.

  • ME gusta y me hace recordar mi epoca en que no tenía ni un solo problema ha..............!! , que hermoso. solo un detalle de video, jajjaj ahí hay un condor volando y ese es un ave rapiña , jajjaja, pero esta lindo verlo volar

  • doesn't he look like the chap from Peter & Gordon?

Anyway, it's a lovely song and he Jonathan sings it well. I remember seeing it on TOTPS back in 1975 .... just like it was y'day!!

  • Gadverdegadver!!!!

  • I heard this on a show called barry scotts lost 45s other then that you will never hear this on a us oldies station atleast not that I have ever heard

  • paloma=pigeon=galamb(the last is in hungarian)

  • is paloma a pigeon or a dove?

what's the difference between a pigeon and a dove any way?

  • I'd say a pigeon.

White female one in this case.

Dove is smaller and has collar around neck.

  • One stands for peace,

the other pees where you stand.

    [joke]

  • good one!!

  • @jackspratt1971

very funny but it really explains a white dove is nothing like a pigeon

  • paloma =dove doves are clean birds and pigeons not

  • dove

  • @simhopp Dove is the mother and pigeon is the baby dove,

  • @simhopp thet belong to the same family basically

  • Comment removed

  • This is a rip off of the United States Marines theme song.

  • have just listened to the theme song- you're talking out of your ass! this is similar but not the same. this version is crap though- "i am a cider drinker" by the wurzels far surpasses any of the others! :P

  • George Baker rocks! This guy stinks.

  • first time i heard this in years and forgot how bad it was!!!,not all seventies music was good!!!

  • ya this version is horrible, this isnt the original, GEORGE BAKER from holland is, it was a huge hit on the American Top 40 in the 70's, this version is a joke!!!!!

  • This is total B.S.!! Who the hell is Jonathan King?! The song that was a huge hit on the radio (and sold millions of 45s) in the mid-seventies was by The George Baker Selection, not this lame-ass!

  • @JohnnyS001 King always did stuff like that. Who should give a shit?

  • "Oops a daisy" That is good.

  • That's one BIG paloma flying there in that video. Glad they're not that big at the town square.

  • So, we met here, a bunch of nostalgic guys, to remember gladly of what music used to be like when we were kids?...In my country, Romania, this was a big hit...Together with Abba, Bonnie M, Smokie...Good ol'days...

  • @MrArchangel7 yep, I agree with you! was the same in the UK too, cheers!

  • His resemblance to Jarvis Cocker is uncanny.

  • .

The original song is from the one and only George Baker.

He still is a famous Dutch singer song writer.

  • i love this song in memory of my best polish friend.

  • For Mike Flower Pops fans

  • Una paloma no es un condor

  • this not the real one the real one is singing by a Netherlander (Dutch) one.

  • You can stone me, but IMHO it's a cheap copy of a great Dutch hit.

  • even better than the original one, anyway, the bass line is far better.

  • this is so great I like that

  • Hows about that then! Now then now then!

  • Me trama el peinado del man....es familiar de He Man?

  • Thanks for posting. The 70s had the best music ever!

  • nerd

  • You fucker! The original song is by a Dutch guy named George Bakker.

  • the backing vocals on the single, that was recorded at CBS Studios, were by Ann Simmons and Clare Torry.

The arrangement was by the late great Johnny Arthey.

On this TOTP, the middle girl singer is Joan Baxter !

  • that video is a shit xd una paloma blanca means one white pigeon.....not black eagle xd !! hahaha

  • the george baker selection version is better

  • JK done this for a bit of dosh and a laugh.

Once this was a hit and his name known he went on to do some awesome classics.Take the time and check out.

  • never mind the song the singer fuck all...whats with jimmy fuckin savilles shoulder shuffle ???

  • He was trying to make the singer look cool by contrast.

  • this is nazi circus music

  • haha :D

  • Ripped from the mouths of Hitler-Jugend.

  • Una condor negra. Pedro Almodovar captured the culture of such collaborators well. His films reveal the neurosis of German tourists are sport for 'sunny' Spaniards. Rich, idiosyncratic traditions of Spain are in fact antithetical to all such nonsense marching songs.

  • It just shows how it can happen. Thousands of decent honest volk parted with cash to prop this up. The public at large eh!!!

  • Don't call me a moron Wesley. My version was better.

  • it's certainly louder

  • @7oundof7 your version was a complete rip off of GBS, about as original as Pepsi. You saw an opportunity for a few quid with a quick cover of a Euro hit. Good business but don't say your version was better. By the way, at the start of this video when you bring in the stereo version it's a terrible edit. Not your strong point. Jon

  • es una paloma blanca when the sun shine... quiero contarte de algun modo lo que en la laya me paso era muy blanca era muy bella y sobre mi hombro se poso....

  • una paloma blanca y veo un condor negro volando jajaja....

  • de hecho !

  • Uuu napalona Blanka...

  • my name paloma gracias

  • moi paloma gracias

  • hahaaahahahahahahahhaahahaha

    xD

  • Is that Noel Edmunds at the start

  • NO its Jimmy Saville! HOW COULD YOU NOT KNOW ?????? :P

  • He looks different now.

  • he is 80 years old thats why!

  • Una paloma blanca, el condor pasa, el condor herido, condorito, NICE!!!

  • y la paloma blanca??? jajajaja...I remember I sang this when I was like 11 years old...so many old memories.!!!!

  • je m appelle paloma et cest vrai

  • hehe the reporter is just funny guy :D and Jonathan King? Hes got this classic 70s look :)

    happy song ^^

  • That's Jimmy Saville, only Brits know him and he's great and funny too!

  • Its on LimeWire

  • Is he out of prison yet?

  • Omg the memories, I baught a tape when I was on holiday in Spain called 'Mallorca Holidays' That was about 18 years ago when I was about 7. I had the tape on every day, drove everyone mad and this song was on it. I have the tape in my hands now, hehe.

  • Does anyone have Slim Whitman's version?

  • Ah - The Irony........

  • Hee! Hee! x

  • What a nerd.

I bet one of those cows singing backup is is mom

  • Mom is spelt "mum" silly!

  • no one can take our freedom away!! (from dutch cauze the muzlumz are trying to take capture Holland)

  • They're singing about a dove and put in cut scenes of an eagle

  • Isn't this the song that Eddie Murphy sung as Buckwheat on SNL that was unintelligible?

  • he looks like a 70s serial killer

  • You know, when u hear record companies shafting some of the band members cuz they're not star material and such, u get annoyed, but watching this guy u now think that may not be such a bad idea after all

  • Is that Biil Gates Singing? LOL!

  • it's he himself, wearing a disguise (such a little bastard) :)

  • I Like Jimmy Savilles "Page Boy" haircut lol.

  • Nah, if is isn't Slim Whitman in his cowboy suit yodeling the word Blancaaa--aaa--aaa it just doesnt sound right.

  • "Noone can take my freedom away". Ironic.

  • his best song was "everyone's gone to the moon "

  • Looks like a condor.

  • Uh...The title of the song is "Paloma Blanca" ("white dove"), so why do they keep showing a black raptor?

  • heh...year its quite funny , properbly just to keep uthp e comic level. Well maybe.

  • stylish, my idol

  • I'ts a total pile of dog poop. King was the arch master at recording toons to appeal to the masses, and this was his nadir, but ironically probably one of his most commercially sucessful. Its terrible...but the masses bought it...thats the recrod buying public for you...

  • he really really lame.

    george baker is way better.

  • Who wants to listen to Dutch singers .

  • it has nice rhythm and meaning

  • oh my Gosh this sounds so famaliar

  • Jonathan is nothing compared to George Baker!

  • This guy looks like a queer. Oh that's right - he swings from both sides of the plate.

This looks so fake and contrived. And didn't Slim Whitman have the bigger hit? I know he commandeered the airwaves in 1980 on WTBS.

  • I know what you mean "bateador zurdo"

  • One of the most horrible and stupid songs which ever topped the UK charts. I hate the boom-boom bass playing, the atrocious female backing vocals in the chorus and in the end. King is very dumb and sissy in his singing. This is the best example of muzak made for houswives and masses. The Dutch Band George Baker Selection recorded it also and it's damn stupid too.

  • Yeah but PC, cast your mind back to 1975, it was all the rage back then along with crimpolene slacks, bad hairstyles (Sorry Sir Jim and Mr King) and cheesy muzak. Listen out for it the next time you step into a lift or tune into the radio on any Aircraft. Enjoy.

  • I totally agree. I fucking hate 2/4 time signature and I was in the armed forces. lol

  • good point

  • I love this song- always have... but lol the announcer!

  • Great song!

  • great rendition of this song, love it man. :o)

  • OPPSY DAISY!

  • Incredible. Someone is able to

  • That's good Desh; I can take it as a compliment then! I do hope Flapsssster has checked out Wilde About Boys!

  • I have a horrible feeling flicker may be a Dutch insult - do let me know!

  • Flikker means gay!

  • wat een flikker

  • A white dove is not a eagle or a falcon, doesn´t it?

Anyway, from the producer of From Genesis to Revelation (first album of Peter Gabriel band)a music for the summer...
