I am a hard core Wings fan. But I must apologize for the way these fans are acting. Beating Columbus is not a big deal. It is to be expected. Have some respect when you are in another teams arena. You would not take that kind of behavior if someone acted like that at the Joe. Columbus is NOT a rival of Detroit. And for those of you who say Wings fans are "bandwagon" fans you need to check your facts. Even when they were the "dead wings" Detroiters still supported them.
The Detroit Red Wings fan are the biggest banwagoners in the league... u watch soon as they have a year where they will miss the playoffs they will jump off
@deftonesrule311 um, excuse me but i believe that we just totally swept the coyotes last round so why dont you go post your irrelevant comments somewhere else.
I'm a neutral observer here (from Boston). When you're in another team's building, you gotta behave with some class. You can wear your team's jersey, you can cheer for your team, but do not taunt the home team's fans (by waving that blanket in the direction of other fans is a taunt). Long story short, I don't agree with people throwing objects at other people, but you kinda deserved it.
Wow what an asshole. Im all for supporting your team and all. But waving the flag and bragging in their faces is just pathetic fanhood by that Detroit fan. Get some manners bitch
thats not showing team pride.. Thats holding up a beer, waving a flag in their faces and pointing at the fans making fun of them.. OH WOW, you beat the bluejackets.. BIG DEAL.. Act like youve been there before... I go to road games as well and when we win, I dont act like that.. I actually try to engage with fans..
I don't mean to disrespect, however why is this titled "Dumb Columbus fan"? Shouldn't it be "Columbus fan throws beer can at fan" or "Dumb Detroit fan sparks incident"? I mean, you don't come into another teams arena and act like a jackass to them, I understand you probably weren't with that group of RW fans but still, guy probably had bad aim.
@OwnagePlayer740 Wow. So waving a flag makes someone a jackass? I'll remember that next time I see Jackets fans waving flags. The attitude of you Jackets fans is borderline prejudice. You act like it should be illegal to be a fan of the visiting team. Throwing a beer at someone makes you a bigger jackass than waving a flag. I'm glad we made your first trip to playoffs a short one last year. GO RED WINGS!!
@OwnagePlayer740 Agreed I just went to RBC center to see my Isles vs Canes I kept my mouth shut and there fans and people that worked there were all Class Kudos to The Hurricanes fans
columbus is a rivalry of detroit?hahahah i dont think so buddy. i do respect what columbus is doing, they are trying to become a forece to be reckoned with, bit a rivalry? dont get ahead of yourself, your talking about thee detroit red wings, come on.
your fault dumb bitch. "yeah lets bring a wings flag and wave it around in a rival city in a playoff game. WHAT COULD HAPPEN!" if you went to canada and did that to a canadian team, you would not be alive.
the entire red wings organization will never overcome the " baby shit in the stanley cup " so as far as im concerned nothing is worse.....or more disrespectfull.....that would be like destroying the Daytona 500 trophy after winning it......detroit never was a respected town.....
Looks to me like they threw the beer can at the Redwing fan that felt the need to turn around....face the Blue Jackets fans in their arena.... and wave her Red wings flag in their face instead of "acting like you've been there".
wow you guys fucking deserved it how about showing class in the home teams arena instead of waving a blanket at the cbj fans WHO YOU KNEW were already pissed at the call. why cant you be like classy wings fans like A LOT of the people in detroit. correct me if im wrong but i bet your not even from Michigan because the fans in Detroit are the only ones who ever show any respect. everyone else just jumped on the bandwagon in the late 90's.
delete this comment it will just prove my point more
i have no idea who those people are waving the flag. i am from detroit, michigan and the columbus fans around me were really nice. i didn't have a problem with anyone besides the beer that was thrown at me. anyways when salmons teammate was waving the cbj flag i was applauding because i knew the story and after when the whole team had the standing ovation i was once again applauding.
ight sorry just the description pissed me off, and i thought you were with those people in front of you. i just dont want people to think that columbus fans are sore loosers b/c were not and trust me over the past 9 years we have gotten used to loosing. ill admit that i did throw something on the ice but you just kinda get caught up in the moment.
so yea sorry again and good luck in the second round.
@skatesnow1118 Sorry for showing our team pride. I guess that's a foreign concept in Columbus. I bet you wouldn't complain if a couple of Jackets fans went to Joe Louis Arena and start waving a flag at Wings fans. If you get this pissed about someone waving a flag, that's pretty sad. I've seen Jackets fans at Joe Louis Arena cheering. You don't see us throwing beer at them. You tell us to show some class yet you defend someone throwing a beer. Pathetic.
Well, since their team hasn't ever made the playoffs before, they don't know how to act at a playoff game. The bitter taste of defeat. Columbus's first playoff appearance was a short one. GO WINGS!!!
if it was in europe you'd be dead.

I consider them a rivalry, mainly because its the closest team to CMH in the western conference, plus the passion of hockey in both areas.

Penguins. But I support the Jackets since I live in the Columbus area. Supporter since the days of Ron Tugnutt and Tyler Wright.

When you're in their house, show some respect. Scratch that, ALWAYS respect your fellow fan.
Cheer for your team, but don't rub it in.
