This is not an iPhone problem!! This is an AT&T problem!! The AT&T signal strength is so poor that not only the iPhone drops calls. No such problems in Poland.
You don't have to hold it with your palm to lose reception, you just have to touch the lower left metal bands to start the shortage. Your hand is actually conducting one electrical current between the two antennas. In your video I saw you accidentally touching the affected (in 1.13 and 3.39) area because you claimed that the way you normally hold your phone.
ok seriously it shouldn't depend on how you handle your phone at all. Everyone has different grip styles and signal strength shouldn't be determined by grip position.
I have always had dropped calls with my 3G it was very frustrating. If you thumb is covering the left bottom it will lose reception on iphone4, i have tried many ways, but the iphone4 is for my wife. Dropped calls was one of the reasons why i did get rid of my iphone. Thanks for the response.
@mrbit10 Yeah, I've only had the 3G and never dropped a call in my life. But I know, I was just giving my "bit" on this. Haha. I still think people are blowing this up. nexus one users are having far more problems but they haven't had this kind of media spot light.
A user should be able to hold their phone in any way and it still do it's job. I have never owned a phone that I couldn't hold any way that I want. My iPhone 3GS is not affected by any way that I hold it.
I don't have an iPhone 4 but to have to avoid holding it certain ways is just ridiculous. (even if you wouldn't normally hold it that way)
@alfredbooth Did you bother checking the links? Its having the same signal issues..

If I pay money for a phone, I expect it to work like one. What are the left handed ppl going to do, huh?

@FWIW1337 A handgun is a $200-300 device. There's really only one way to hold it right.

@sc0pl355 That was classic.
If Apple made an iGun, people would complain that the bullets didn't find their mark when they gripped the gun with one hand in front of the barrel.
