  • this happend to me to what is it and how can i fix it it cannot be playing to much, if its that the the light for the wii would be blue (the power button light) here are the codes

    green :good

    red warm

orange good and playable its alright

    blue over heated

  • why does that happen does it happen cuz u play a lot someone answer me ??? D:

  • i have the same problem

  • youtube.com/

    watch?v=1XKKLkqdZ34&feature=related

should help it maybe it too late since it was posted 4 years ago haha

  • That is not normal the wii should load game's in a softer way.The disk drive is dameged.Call nintendo.

  • it's the little plate that holds the disk down rubbing against another plate/the disk. All you have to do is take the cover off and bend the metal plate up so that it doesn't rub...

  • sounds like motorcycle engine

  • POINTLESS YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @antMANscochiey fuck up

  • It's got a Hemi.

  • i have the problem

  • Comment removed

  • I have the exat same problem and it is really irritating.

  • Sounds like an internal disc alignment problem... Sometimes the disc drives a placed inside the mechanism crooked, so just like an unaligned car tire, you get that noisy vibration...

  • Mine has like almost the same noise when im running a disk, its OK when im not but if im playing something from the harddrive not a sound. But when I run a disk it is LOUD. Almost louder then my 360!! Does anyone know how to fix this???

  • Mine gets this. Very annoying. Anyone know a link for steps to follow to DIY fix it? Cheers

  • men that are very normal the console are reading de C-D

  • Duh ! ur wii doesnt like red steel thats why -_-"

  • Respond to this video... my wii makes that sound... and scratches the top of the disk and leaves axle grease on the bottom :/

  • That is not normal.

If it's new, call Nintendo for a replacement, as your Wii is dead...

  • When i turn on my PS3, and put in a CD, it makes 3 giant clicks like its jamed!

  • 3 things that scare me in video games 1 wierd clicking (PS3) 2 error messages (wii) 3 THE RED RING OF DEATH (happens on Gran Turismo 4 for PS2)

  • I think I know that sound.... it's the sound of your Wii telling you to trade it in for a PS3. Mines starting to hummm that tune right now.

  • mai wii does tht

  • Mine makes that noise during bootup and when some games like Call of Duty are running, it gets very hot and noisy. But otherwise, it's normal for it to be quiet.

  • that's not normal at all, myn is as silent as a mouse, you guys prob played too much and it overheated or something, a wii cant just be defective like that, its pretty well made if you ask me

  • Wow, that is pretty loud :X Sounds like when I start up my hard drive, and I believe I need my fan cleaned :/ Did you get the problem solved? :O

  • sometimes my wii makes a LOUD sound like BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP like dat until u get up and turn it off manually

  • im not even sure if that beats my ps2 when u enter in bad disks to that bitch she coughs up a hurricane with a horn louder than thunder

  • My Wii just did that so I turned it off. Now it won't turn back on...Help!

  • @Flabmasterj Did you try plugging it out and back in?

  • @AlyssaElric Thanks! Now it works!

  • mine does it while anything

  • Sounds like the CD isn't getting in the drive right.

  • Smash it with a hammer it will probably keep quiet

  • Mines louder :( I dunno what is wrong... it freaking buzzes all the time.

  • Damn, sounds like that thing is about to blow up. My Wii makes no noise.

  • it took me the end of the video to realize thats not a 360

  • aaaawwww its singing isnt that cute

  • haahaha. wait but if you send it in will they just give you a new one or fix your old one? because that would stink if your wii memory all went to waste D:

  • Sounds like a car XD

  • that happend to me everytime

  • My wii is making these strange clicking noises... like, here's what happens.

Insert disc. -Wait 3 seconds- Then, "click-click-click-CLICK" -Wait another second- "click-click-click-CLICK" Then it runs silent and, perhaps, just gives up. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It won't accept any of the games, not even the GC games. Please help!

  • @TheBigStupidHead mine does that to with Super Smash Bros. Bwarl and it won't work anymore so if it does that to every game you have you need to get a new wii.

  • your wii has no vantalation room in the back that makes it overheat or eventualy crash that why its best to give it as much open space as possible that goes for ps3 and 360

  • mine did that i sent it in to nintendo for free.

  • mines done that once too but mine was caused by a power outage

  • Well my wii sorta had an accident, my cuz knocked it over, and every since then it's been making this same noisy not only is it annoying but for games that have a lot on them it will give me an error message, that sometimes WON'T go off till I push the power button or completely unplug my wii! Causing me to lose my progress! Oh what to do?!!

  • MissTiffany77

same thing happened to me, i literally slapped it, it fell over again but it stopped lol

but it ran fine even with the noise

  • @MissTiffany77 i have the same problem i found a fix though where you run water over the disk and dry it off with somthing soft, but my wii makes the same noise but it plays games just fine i get error messages but i have to keep playing games over and over again or else it crashes

  • i have that also too but the mine is louder then yours

  • it the fan

  • Take it apart. On the drive theres a little piece of metal that rubs against the disk. Bend it so it no longer rubs against the disc. Problem solved.

  • My Wii's been doing this since last week. It's driving me absolutely insane.

  • Read open senses forum. See scottnics idea of removing the white plastic hub to have a look and see if it was worn, I found mine wasn't. So I cut a piece of thin clear stiff plastic from a toy wrapper about the size of a button and sandwiched it back in between the metal bracket and the plastic hub - this has the effect of pushing the hub a little closer than normal and it works! It's only plastic so it shouldn't cause undue wear on the hub and it's smooth enough to not afford too much friction.

  • I believe its the Lazar. But...I'm not sure cause thats what my wii did.

  • My wii makes that noise too D: and after having it like that since December 2006 it gets annoying. Can I still send it to Nintendo to fix the noise?

  • I put in a gamecube game and it still buzzed :(

  • have you gotten it fixed? do you know what is wrong with it?

  • same here its fine as long as you have a pair of headphones. but i no it sounds like it is gonna EXPLODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyways the wii is very very futurist and has trouble do stuff i think... i dont no i am stupid!

  • this is like the 360

  • the noise isn't normal but it doesnt mean anything bad either

  • Comment removed

  • $75 down the drain for launch day wiis...

  • Well judging by when this video was uploaded im sure ur way past this problem now but currently mine is making that exact noise too. it sucks......-_-

  • got a gamecube game? I put one in and started playing it then swapped back to a wii game and it fixed it somehow

  • Mine also does that sound. But it's strange that not all the games make this noise. I.E: I insert Metroid Prime Trilogy and it has noise. I insert Brawl and it doesn't have noise. Sometimes it doesn't make that sound. Hitting the Wii makes the sound disappear a few seconds XD

  • thats loud

  • my wii doesent do that but it makes a lous sound when it is reading the disk what should i do i have had the wii for like 3 yr and if it is broke i doubt they will replace it?? comment BACKK!!!

  • my wii made that sound before too -_- it's annoying

  • my wii made that noise but then it died and had to be sent off o nintendo

  • is not as worse as a 360 noise from the fan

  • I have the same problem but mine is for a short time, is that noise bad?

  • wow more louder than a cut -machine.

  • my cousins wii does the same thing but they never do anything about it. i think it just the games.

  • Hey my wii makes the same noise but only when a game is in it happened ever since i play pokemon battle revolution ( i think something is wrong with the disc)

  • same shit happens to me but, now i cant play no wii games

  • holy crap! it sounds like a lawn mower!

  • Hmm, my Wii made a kind of similar sound once (not as loud) which was really irritating, so I turned my Wii off. I then inserted a Gamecube game and started playing that, and the sound was gone! When I played a Wii game again the noise was also gone.

  • =D I LOVE YOU!

that saved me from buying a triwing screwdriver to take my wii apart. lol.

  • haha, glad to be of help.

  • Hey Snarkie -- I'm having that same sound from my Wii. What saved you from buying a triwing screwdriver and taking your wii apart? Were you able to fix the sound?

  • Hi! I found the solution. Thanks -- I'll try to find a Gamecube disc.

  • my wii makes that noise too

Its so loud it hurts my ears

    Have you found a solution?

If you have please let me know its a real bad problem!

  • lol KiteMaster2 u made me laugh

  • lol its a louder version of the 360 start up

  • Ok here are things you need to do

1:clean ALL wii games with alcohol

2:use all wii games and make sure its not only one

3:are any f the games scraced?

and finally if it still mkes the noisce call nintendo...

  • @KiteMaster2 r u dissin the 360??????

  • @timmy3339 he dissin' the 360!

  • is the CD scratched?

  • mine has the same problem. so what exactly is the solution to this?

  • sending it to Nintendo is NOT A OPTION

  • It happens when its hot.

  • mine is different when i played red steel it kind a disk is scraching, but not very often, but when i plyed wii sport it was so vry silent,do u think we have same problem later on,pls reply,so i can return it and change it for a new one tnks

  • i have the exact same problem, just that IT'S NOT THAT LOUD! like it seriously sounds like it's gonna explode in any second lol

  • I have a problem with mine too, sorta.

Sometimes when I play CoD:WaW online, it'll freeze randomly, causing me to have to hold the power button, but after that, it'll start working. Also, it doesn't freeze all the time, It'll go like 1 week without freezing, then all of a sudden it'll freeze... its really random, and ONLY happens to me online... D:

  • me too. thats wxactly wut happened to me

  • nope , that happened to me too

i was playing , then it freezed once

  • My Wii is doing the exact same thing. Do I really have to replace it? Because I can't back up Brawl/NiGHTS data no matter what I do.

  • i unscrewed the screw on the drive and it worked silently.

  • does it get hot after a while

  • you have to take the wii apart, take off this metal piece, bend it STRAIGHT, put it back on.put wii back together,,, then all you can hear is the fan.

  • it like an xbox 360

  • Lol "i don't know if this is normal."

  • True. Wii position doesn't matter. go home and check the right side of your wii. Are there feet? Then IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW YOU POSITION IT!

  • There is a very bad problem with your Wii. I recommend getting a warranty repair on it from Nintendo. OOOh, This video is from 2007. Well, I cannot help you any further.

  • This started happening to me after buying Super Smash Bros Brawl

I think my Wii isn't prepared for double side DVDs xD

  • That's not normal....I had that promblem. My problem was that Wii was spinning hte disk so fast it was making somehting next to it rumble, thus noise. You didnt have anything there, so you might have dust inside your wii. What happens is that the dust becomes harder after the heat of the wii and coolness of the fan. If more dust gets in and it reachs the magnetic strip of the laser lens, your wii is fried. Buy an air can cleaner and spray the interior with the air, should help.

  • so you stray the can where a person usually puts the CD"s?

  • yeah just stick the straw into the cd slot and spray all of the interior. Just dont stick the straw too deep in. They sell that can in office suplies stores.

  • Great analysis. I am impressed.

  • happened to me got a wii sent to me cuz it was freezing up (happened 2 days after i got mine) and wen i got the new wii it made this sound, probably cuz the ups guy shoved in my door then my wii worked fine for some reason...then the hard drive crashed in may 2008 lol got it fixed...lost everything....

  • " hard drive" The Wii doesnt have a hard drive !!!!!!

  • oh srry i meant mother drive, at least thats wat the nintendo guy said

  • chain saw

  • thats weird noise is very strange

  • I have that problem, but I rarely notice it for that I play my games loud or with headphones. ^^;

  • I gave it a final permanent fix for THAT noise (there's a small area up at the "top" (or behind the power led if you figure it that way) that you can stuff something under

In my figuring, however, I think that I ended up messing up the brake for the drive, because it makes a funny noise when it first spins up or down. only cure I saw for that was pushing the area where the disc is inserted, but can't figure out where to get it to stop making the noise. Doesn't effect the drive reading though

  • y'know, my wii made that noise for about 3 months, and then it stopped reading any disks. so that pretty much means my laser broke. I'd send it to nintendo before it stops reading the disks (like mine) and get it fixed. mine is getting fixed today.

  • Mine did the same thing when I got on GH3 and started having a match against someone. I was 1/3 into the song when it cut me off and made that sound. STUPID WII! YOU MADE ME LOSE AND YOU HAVE AN ANNOYING SOUND!!! (but I still love you!) XD

  • Mine started the noise after I loaded Guitar Hero III into my Wii and it ran an update... I think once you get an off-balance disc, the Wii is pretty unstable inside.

Fixed mine much like the others on here by loosening the screw on the front left of the drive and inserting something between the plate and the drive itself.

  • mine make a buzzing noise but not nearly as loud and only with certain games... is that normal???

  • U broke ur console dude

  • Yeah Wii got a general problem:

The disk drive is running without a disk too. And it increases the disk speed to reading speed whatever channel you enter...

  • that's the exact same noise my wii is making! did you get the noise to stop?

  • i smashed my wii. no jk

  • hey can you hear it when you are far away from it, and can u hear yours over the tv

  • me too but after awhile it doesnt make that much sound anymore. not too sure though

  • mine makes noise too.i dont worry to much,as long as it doesnt scratch my games

  • dude this happens to me too but only for the new games like brawl and world tour but all the old games like wii sports doesent it sounds normal please help!!

  • made in china

  • lol thank you

  • mine too :(, have u figure out wat to do?

  • my wii would freeze sometimes and then make a REALLY loud noise like ZZZZZZZZZ and im like screw this

  • i had that problem 2 in the begin it had no effect but later my wii reportet an error when i was playing brawl. after that it happend more an more and in the end i coudnt play any game. so ive send my wii to nintendo

and i hope they will fix it

  • mine too! i noticed it when i got medal of honor heroes 2, before i could shake my wii a little and it would stop, not it just goes not stop. maybe i should pop in my older games to see if it does the same

  • the only game this does it for is mysims and that just cuz it loads but that sound ir different!

  • the origanal wiis didnt werent built to read newer discs and for some reason causes them to "hum". we got smash bros. brawl and had the same problem. call nintendo and they'll help you.

  • my wii makes a BUNCH of beeping noises when I play Call of Duty:World at War

    is that normal?

  • OMG i just noticed that to when i was playing COD:WAW (just got the game like yesterday) i can hear low noises like you said when im playing and i can hear it pretty loud when up close to the wii (kinda wierd but i havent played twilight princess for a day yet and my wii was just knocked over so i dont know

  • the beeping noises are normal. thats just the disk drive moving its reading head

  • me too

  • omg i got this problem to

  • its only you disk drive, tell nintendo to get you a new drive

  • it soundz like a chainsaw...

  • mine does that but its so quiet its like basically pressing a button on a phone it very quiet u probably got somthing styuck in the disk drive.like maybe 1 of ur discs had bread crums and that got stuck at the back.

  • its probably made in the USA that is why they make that noise .

  • idk it might be that something got stuck inside the disk drive thingy or something is under it making it vibrate

  • mine does that recently, do u get disc read errors?

  • THE DEMON Wii FROM HELL!!!!! lols

  • no its nnot i have the same problem its not normal at all

there is tons of videos on how to fix this man look it up

    IM WITH YOU

so niteoftheozone and all trhose other fags who are saying this is spam and its supposed to happen then you guys are complete idiots

  • my dus tht to but not tht loud

i wus lookin on the internet to see if i could find anyone else with this problem and aperntly it happens alot idk y it happens but mine stoped and now its doing it :<

  • I had the same problem. Just flip the Wii right-side up. Right now it looks like it's upside down

  • My Wii does that too, but it's WAY louder! I just have to leave the disk in for a while and it stops....

  • mine makes noises to but not that badly id get it referbished if i were u.

  • mine makes noise to like that too but only for mario galaxy its weird

  • roach in the fan.

  • the wii will be vibrating on the glass table which would make the rumble noise

  • mine doesn't make any noise ok a small quiet noise that you can hardly hear when you put a disk in

  • It sounds like a raceing car lol

    vrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom

  • mine doesnt

  • My Wii does that from time to time. I just pull the CD out and put it back and it stops.

  • erh I'm pretty sure that's not normal! Mine makes no sounds...

  • mines make that buzzing noise noy your noise though the buzzing noise to my wii is actually vibrating through my shelf maybe that`s what yours is doing.

  • its not much of a problem at least it dont blow tvs like 360s lol

  • mine did that it ended up not reading my discs so i sold it 4 a ps3

  • Has anybody who has had this problem found a solution for it other than sending it to nintendo?

My Wii does this and I am worried that it will eventually damage the hardware

  • wait how did that happen cuz my Wii is fine but im scared it might happen to me hwo do i prevent that form happening

  • It's not normal. You just need to have it fixed.I accidently dropped my wii once,it did the same thing, except for when I put the disc in the second time. When put in the disc the second time, the damn drive jammed on me!!!!I had to have it fixed.Dude, once it's fixed,it will work like new again.

  • Don't worry. its fine. i have a the same problem m . its just the wii spinning the disk around and it vibrating.

P.S Try Lifting it of the surface and the noise should stop.

  • no, its not normal...haha

  • sounds like a refrigerator

  • its becuase its th surface it is on. as the CD spins the wii vibrates on the shelf/table.

  • my don't make that sound maybe it's the fan?

    well i don't know

  • .....-_-
