This "doctor" knows everything about everything. Hey doc - my leg hurts - can you help me out? I'd like to buy your video - "Presentation for dummies"
Its funny he uses a .001 cent bottle of H2O inflated a thousand fold to $1.00 to sell you the NEED to "optimize your water"..."and MAKE SURE its ecologically sound"...
How about he uses his NLP skills to give FREE Life Necessitating Resources to all Citizens. Maybe then focus on catch words that will enable Life Necessitating Health Resources to all Citizens for free. After that pitch these "innovative enterprise applications" to malnourished consumption hogs for profit.
There's a problem with an iris implant. If you had two of them and they were hacked, you could effectively be made to see only what somebody wanted you to see.
As for Internet 2.0, wouldn't that be more prone to censorship than the regular internet?
For a 'futurist' this guy has the conceptual sophistication of an infant. 1) No mention of contingency or unintended consequences. 2) His idea that the future belongs to innovators is simplistic: sometimes innovations are misguided and become unprofitable mistakes. Patrick Dixon's far more substantial.
15 years old on Facebook downloading videos, that don't make any sense? 2 things Dr. Canton that you should know, 1-You can never change the hormones of those teenagers and 2- we have a corrupted society, and your romanticism doesn't belong to it, this is reality.
One of my current counselling clients is a 52YO CEO- it was all going well, but I fear I’m losing control of his increasingly wild fantasies.
For example, he has commissioned a 30ft high bronze statue of himself for the company foyer, with arms lovingly outstretched like some Stalinist father-figure. The way he talks about it, employees will be pressured into ritual ‘offerings’ to this image of food & money, with ‘vigils’ being maintained 24/7 (“They’ll lose their jobs if they don’t!”).
The "business" mindset has no place in a sustainable future. Give us your technology, but keep your profit driven, waste creating, money inflating, socially paralyzing, consumerist, capitalist poison. We don't need it. Lets start thinking about a resourced based economy.
@AgeOfScience its not gonna happen until we run this planet dry of oil and other resource, until the government runs us completely dry of income and we will be too poor to sustain ourselves. People dont realize how fucked the monetary system is
@AgeOfScience The thing is, entreprenuerism IS a resource. The "business" mindset coupled with innovations in technology is what drives us to prosperity.
I'll tell you what would be innovative: publicly financed health care. In fact, many governments in other developed countries realized this long ago. Your assumption that entrepreneurs have a monopoly on innovation is a crude untruth. You can't honestly talk about what "drives us to prosperity" without paying close attention to your health care system. And in the US, the free-market health care model obstructs widespread prosperity.
Money inflation is caused by our banking system, which is controlled by a central bank--the opposite of the free market. If people labor to create technologies, they deserve profits from it. What needs to be ended is our massive government, fractional reserve banking, fiat currency, and the central economic planning activities of the Federal Reserve.
Wrong! The legal status of corporations is what needs to change. Government is necessary, as it provides a means to negotiate competing interests. The debate in the US over the role of gov't (pro-government vs. anti-government) misses this key point: sometimes gov't should intervene, sometimes it should not. What we need to think about is when and how gov't intervenes. To reduce it to your zero-sum terms can only be a bad thing.
The free market provides amean to negotiate competing interests. The government is the zero-sum game for it is all about redistribution of tax dollars from poor to rich or rich to poor depending on the program. Everything I said in the above message is correct. You ignored completely my point about our banking system.
