And i think the coolest thing about slap bass is that is was started (if you believe Larry Graham was one of the first, if not THE first)...due to lack of a drummer...all those percussive fills and ghost notes and funky slides and mutes fill the drummers spot...done right, its like an orchestra unto itself !

PROTIP: Record the audio off YouTube, slow it down using an audio editing program (just the speed, don't lower the pitch), get your bass and tab this out by ear. I believe that it's just a lot of improvised hammer-ons. The trick is in your right hand's movements. You can absolutely play this, just practice your slapping and popping.
