My puppy will not go poop or pee outside I have had her for 4 weeks and she has only gone outside 4 times. Every time I take her outside all she does is eat grass or leaves or just sniff. And I was told to keep her outside 5-8 min and then if she doesn't go take her in and put her in her kennel for 5 min then try again and she always just goes in the 5 min I put her in the kennel. @kelsienoodle Yes it does work. My dog will do both on command. It does take time and you must distinguish between the two.

I have a bigger problem. My dog goes outside all the time; never an accident in the house. But I want him to go in the morning when I take him out. I do not want to go for a walk! So far he only wants go to for a walk to pee and poop. He will hold it all day, yes 24 hours when I can't wait anymore and take him for a walk. I'm from india. I have a yellow lab & a rottweiler. Both are female dogs. Yellow lab is one and half tear old and the rottweiler is 6 months old.

Waiting sometimes a long time, and in the inside is where they have been going so they probably can smell the scent of where they have been going before so as soon as you are bringing them back inside they are ready to do their business. It is difficult to wait in the beginning, but it is crucial.

If it doesn't work by this time next week I am going to hire this trainer I found for $500. It's a Lot but it wiLL be worth it in the Long run. If I don't just pay the $500 we wiLL probabLy end up hating each other.

@craziPayaso yes go potty is what my mother in law started telling her dog and it works great as soon as she says it bella (her dog) runs to the yard and goes but you wanna make sure you take your dog or puppy to a place you know you wont walk to so you dont step in whatever they just done. hope it helps:)

My dog pees and poops on command. I take him outside and say, 'go potty' and he does. It's much quicker. I used to take him out on his leash while I was toilet training him and say, "Go Potty" right before and after he went with lots of praise. Now when you take him out and say 'go potty' he'll pee. I didn't even realize I'd trained him to pee on command until a while afterwards. Pooping takes longer but if I tell him go potty and he'll find a spot quicker.

I need help. I have a pitbull about 9 weeks old that we got for my dad. We also have 5 cats. She knows how to pee and poop outside, and she's learned her name. Only problem is, my parents think its okay to throw the dog with the cats (unsupervised) and they say that over time the cats and dog will learn to tolerate. Let them free in the room and supervise, when your dog starts chasing the cats, say no, but don't yell, be firm, he will not get it at first so don't say no to many times, go after him, touch him and say no again, if he don't stop with a touch you need to put him down on the side and bite his neck with your hand until he calms down. Repeat the process until he ignores. And never say his name when you say no.

this is really helpful....but how do i know when my dog usually has to go? yes, i do put food in her bowl in the mornings, but unfortunately i must leave for school right after. usually, she doesn't eat her food. when i come back from school, i take her outside immediately and leave her to do her business, but i watch her from inside the house. at night i do feed her too...usually around 6 or 7 PM. but i never know when she has to go.

I agree, my german shepherd eats on a schedule and myself works on a schedule. I have to feed my dog every morning based on how much excersize i am able to give her, I have to feed her every evening also based on the amount of exercise i give her. She pees and poos both once in the morning before i leave and once in the evening when i get home. i then feed her extra water and let her out to pee again before bed time. This works for me and my beautiful Von Der Hause german, Sophie.

Then i see whats on tv that day, by this time the coffees gone right through me and i need to pee again. By lunchtime ive pooed and im ready for a sandwich, hmm what to put on it, this questions always stumps me, but i pull through. After lunch i sometimes have a nap then im up in time to cook dinner.
