This scene proves that wrong, and shows us that everyone in this show is mortal.

Omar goes from limping badly right outside the store to not limping at all when he walks in the store. Terrible continuity from a normally flawless show.

This reminds me of that old saying “He who seeks vengeance must dig two graves: one for his enemy and one for himself”. Omar was like a horse with blinders on since he went after Marlo, the last second before he's shot by Kenard he looks over his shoulder and see's him, now the Omar from previous seasons wouldn't of let the fact that someone (kid or not) from a rival organization with a 200k hit out on him slip by

@88infinity20 he didnt know he was dead, he looked at the kid and didnt think the kid was a threat thats why he continues on to say "let me get one of them too" because hes carrying on as usual, he has no idea hes about to be shot in the head.
Kenard's the only one that could have done it. Notice how Omar looked directly at him, but didn't view him as a threat because he was just a little boy. No one can creep on Omar.
The game changed though. Game got twisted. Enter Kenard and the new generation like Marlo.

I've never hated a fictional character like I hate Kenard. Watching him being arrested after he kills Omar, I wished nothing but absolute hell for him in jail. I hoped he ended up the bitch of some fat kid named Bubba. But I guess the only person capable of killing the legend was a little child that Omar would never have suspected. Omar gives Kenard a glance as he enters the convenience store, but eventually dismisses him. Shows how fragile life is and how easily it can be snuffed out. Poor cat.
I lost all interest in the final episodes after this happened. It lost all the momentum. And then I was incensed when Marlo is left standing. FAIL. This ending was as underwhelming as the series finale to LOST. #OmarComin
I was glad they caught Kenard in the finale. With the cat and all, he would have had "more bodies than a Chinese cemetery."
It also makes sense that only Kenard could have gotten to Omar. You can see that Omar hears the door open and checks it out, but I would guess he just sees a little kid and doesn't worry. That was the only way to get to Omar: to be a little kid.
i wasnt a fan of how they killed omar, but i can understand why they did it this way. they did it to show how fragile life is and how quickly it can end. also theres a lot of irony because someone as small as kenard was able to kill a legend like omar with a pull of a trigger. man i love the wire

@LDreamerDude Not to mention that in Seas 5 he'd become a tragic figure, solely focused on his revenge for Marlo. It had to end this way for him, with a seemingly insignificant kid killing him. Omar might've been on the side of good but he still lived by the sword (violence) & it caught up with him.

I've never hated a fictional character like I hate Kenard. Watching him being arrested after he kills Omar, I wished nothing but absolute hell for him in jail. I hoped he ended up the bitch of some fat kid named Bubba. But I guess the only person capable of killing the legend was a little child that Omar would never have suspected. Omar gives Kenard a glance as he enters the convenience store, but eventually dismisses him. Shows how fragile life is and how easily it can be snuffed out. Poor cat.

I lost all interest in the final episodes after this happened. It lost all the momentum. And then I was incensed when Marlo is left standing. FAIL. This ending was as underwhelming as the series finale to LOST. #OmarComin

I was glad they caught Kenard in the finale. With the cat and all, he would have had "more bodies than a Chinese cemetery."
It also makes sense that only Kenard could have gotten to Omar. You can see that Omar hears the door open and checks it out, but I would guess he just sees a little kid and doesn't worry. That was the only way to get to Omar: to be a little kid.

I think Kenard is the only one who could have killed Omar precisely because he is a child and Omar is some kind of black sandman.
Omar is a spooky tale to frighten children at night...he's not only a man he's a myth.
You can see this when he goes to the dealers' houses and threatens them from the outside, just like the wolf did with the three little pigs.
It makes sense that all it took to finally kill him was a little child.
