  • you should have sewed the pocket onto the lining/interfacing when you sewed the center seam. then you should have done the sewing the lining to the jean

  • Wow, she's good.

  • how old is she? I'm proud of a young persin doing this

  • legit im gonna try that with like moccasin material (Y)

  • I really like this, it's awesome, and its actually in fashion :D

  • you did a great job ! Coming up with an inspired design just from looking at an item, many seasoned sewers cannot do this!

  • oh my god. when shes sewing shape of my heart is in the background!!!

    favorite song

  • For the pocket you could have sewn it to the lining before you sewed the lining to the actual purse

  • you also just made yourself a pair of capris :)

  • maybe u should have sewed the pocket in first, and then you could have reinforced it to the lining, but anyhow. i LOVE purses like this that are made from leather or suede!

  • Luv it :) gonna make this 4 my sis's super late birthday/Christmas gift XD

  • I personally think that it would have been easier on you to machine sew the pocket by flipping up a fringe and then just sewing the pocket on the top. I know it sounds a little more complicated but I promise it's not all that hard

  • I tried this out at home and the outcome was amazing! Thank you so much!

  • really nice

  • the random music blurps were distracting. and some of it could have been thought out a tad better or done diffrently but it is a good idea.

  • Cool and very different than the jeans cut into a mini converted into the purse. purse!!! :-D

  • nice little tutorial. if you want to add the pocket, add it to the liner before attatching it to the body of the purse.

  • Jessica, keep alert for a used sewing machine at either a Goodwill or yard sales. I have 5 and only paid around $10 for each of them... anyway, you did a great job , cute idea to use old jeans for lots of things... I think I would have taken the top off of the bottom of the shirt and then you would have had enough lining for another purse of project... like a smaller purse done the same way, Hope you find you a sewing machine.. It is really neat to sew your own projects

  • Thats a great idea, I never thought to look in yard sales or goodwill for that matter. I'll keep that in mind. I'm actually going to use the top part of the shirt for another project :)

  • Good I hope you find a machine. I am a costumer for a small theatre group... Like I said , I would have separated the top and the bottom of the shirt.. when you layed the pattern down for the lining , you did it in the middle., but if you had taken the gatthers out of the top of the material... it would have been enough to do 2 projects.. I hate wasting material.. cutting out of the center ruins or makes 2 small pieces.. Keep up the good work... and find you a machine...:0)

  • very good tutorial!!! Keep up the good work!

  • This is really cute and I can't wait to make some for my granddaughters. Thank God I can sew and figure out what size to make mine cause there weren't any measurments to go by really, but nonetheless, you did a great job and I'm glad you can sew. There aren't really alot of girls your age that enthusiastic about sewing, so I just know you'll be an inspiration! You asked about how to sew the pocket in? Sew it on the lining before you sew it together, ok? Thanks, I'm glad I found you! Good luck!

  • A threadbanger grandmom! That is awesome! Go you!

  • Great job! i totally love fringy things ;) Good luck!

  • loved it I have a lot of jeans I don't even use this is a great idea for them =)thanks

  • Not my style, but very cool nonetheless.

  • wow, i really like! (i cant sew though)

  • I've made jeans purses and have tried a few different variations...but nothing like this! LOVE the fringe!! Can't wait to try...thanks for the inspiration!

  • Ahhh, this is great since I have a number of jeans I'm itching to get rid of. Cute and simple. I love it!

  • i like the jean purse better

  • nice

  • It would help if there were some measurements.

We know you used the original purse for a pattern, but you never said how big it was.

  • I think you can be quite free about measurments, you can think of how big you would like yours and draw a recatngle accordingly.

Or simply stick to the width of the jeans leg you are going to use.

  • me gusta¡¡¡

  • as my dog loves to destroy my pants, I have a pile of blue jeans that I can't wear... I am definately going to use one of those pairs for a purse like this!

  • this is a really good idea.

  • so pretty, that very cool girl ¡¡¡¡¡

  • Very cute!

  • i love the nineties music:) MEMORIES!

    oh, and great tutorial

  • i love thisss.

  • you couldve sewed the pocket in before you sewed the lining to the jean, then you wouldnt have to hand sew! (:

  • oh perfect! i have jeans i need to get rid of cause they got holes in them. lol

but i think i might make a skirt too! with fringes....hopefully it wont be weird looking

  • ***** :)

  • Thats really good. Thanks for that.

  • you can just sew the pocket onto the lining before you put it all together

  • This is really CUTE! I think I will try this!

  • probably should have sewn in your pocket onto the lining with the machine, and then sewn on the lining.

great tutorial, endless possibilities with an old pair of jeans.

  • well I'm deffo going to try this!

  • This is a cute project! I think I'll do it this weekend!

  • sew the pocket on one side of the lining before you sew it on to the front

  • LOTS of mistakes but totally cute:)

  • It was my first time ever making a purse, working with jeans and practically sewing a project on my own. I think I did good for a beginer :)

    -Jessica

  • It's not my sewing machine, It's my moms. Once I move out I will no longer have a sewing machine. Plus she only let me use it for this contest. Shes pretty materialistic, it would be much easier if I had my own.

    -Jessica

  • @TheMangoqueen It belongs to her mother....=]

  • @TheMangoqueen she state that its her mothers

  • @TheMangoqueen It's her mom's. She might need one of her own for when she moves away. :)

  • Try stitching the pocket onto the lining before you attach the lining to the outside of the purse. :)

  • Yes I realized that after, thaks for your suggestion. Many more comments like this will come.

    -Jessica

  • @GirlWhoCameToStay i was gunna say that too but i don't even sew so lol sew so
