@nimlil ACCTUALLY if you look at when these comments were made i was responding to the statement referring to a GSXR600, i have never seen a GSXR600 with 141 hp. With my 13 years in the motorcycle business mainly dealing with Honda and Suzuki there isn't such a thing.
@wraith137 Just noticed your post. My Mistake as I figured you were talking about the 750. Yes the 600 does indeed not make 140 ish hp. Figured you were comparing apples to apples (800 to a 750) which even in that aspect is still like comparing apples to oranges on the types of bikes and what they each represent. The 600 still makes a smidge more peak power but can't compare to the sweet 800 power band which obviously you already know. I was talking about the 750 at the time. Enjoy your riding!
anyone who thinks this sounds stock is an idiot i have a stock one in my garage and this sounds so much better and to the gixxer 750 phenom i have and rc 51 that will run circles around your 750 so why dont you make note of the fact that the vfr wasnt designed to be the fastest bike at the strip or the track. to the OP nice vid bike sounds mean
If you know anything you can't compare a VFR750 exhaust to a VFR800, totally different engines and totally different exhaust setup. Plus the 750's didn't have the restrictions that the new ones have and that video was taken outside and in an open garage. FYI I owned a 750 as well, so I am shocked at your absoulute stupidity! Wow!
To the guy who thinks the VFR is the fastest thing on wheels, its not. I own a 08 gixxer 750 and a 02 VFR800 and my 750 will run circles around this on corners or acceleration. You cant expect a 500lb+ bike with less then 98rwhp beat a 400lb gixxer with over 130rwhp. Both are nice bikes for sure but they serve their respective purposes.
Im curious as to why it sounds like those crappy ducati's when hes revving it. Im just wondering since its a V4 but sounds like a twin. I know its not a CBR but is there really a difference besides the V-TEC engine?
Because its essentially 2 v-twins jointed at the crank. Its the nature of V engines. Its really a nice unique sound, it doesn't sound like a typical rice patty I-4 you are used to hearing.
Ohhh wow 2 v-twins jointed nice! Yea cuz i know its a v-tec engine so i figured it would kinda sound like the cars atleast. But either way i like the inline 4 sound maybe cuz im young
Both bikes have about the same power but the GSX-R is alot litghter which makes it faster but if it was an endurance race the VFR would win because of it's longer range on a tank of gas :-)
@wraith137 Actually the GSXR is rated for about 141 hp and the VFR is rated around 107 hp from the manufactures. The GSXR routinely cranks out about 25-27 hp more at the rear wheel on dyno's. That being said, they are 2 totally different bikes designed for different purposes and thier power curves are executed ( VTEC not withstanding) pretty much with thier design functions in mind.
Hell yeah VFR 2002 OWNS! IT IS THE BEST. As soon as a test rode my VFR I brought it. I haven't riden a GSXR and I dont think I would want to? someone told me a GSXR600 would out run my VFR800? can anyone say this is true?
Yes a GSXR600 would out run your VFR800 easily...I own an '02 VFR800 and have ridden other SPORT bikes back to back with my VFR and there's now comparison when it comes to speed, braking, and cornering of the smaller 600's vs. the "beast" of the VFR...I love my VFR, but the 600's will spank it...
those colours are awesome, interceptor style

Sounds stock, weak. Used to have a VFR750 with a D&D that sounded pretty awesome.

Kick Ass. Bike
To those who are not familiar with the VFR.
VFR800 have faster 0-60 mph times than the 2008 600's , 750's and 1000's .
But after that the race bikes have a faster 0-100 mph times.
Vfr will go across country in style and comfort. V-4 power rocks
Don't let a $ 300 vtec valve check every 16k worry you. This is a world class streetbike, that will go over 100k miles.

The VFR is a great bike, but you can't compare it to a GSXR. you should ride it first.
I have a 2002 VFR and love it.
