Those are both great choices for Kratos, but if T.C. Carson(voice of Kratos) happened to be an actor, the movie would quite possibly be more epic than anything we've seen before. Djimon Hounsou, despite being black would probably suit Kratos's brutal personality much better .

God of War, it's the most fucking, epic, thing you'll ever play. All the gore and ripping out body parts, killing gigantic beasts, or powerful gods. You control sweet kickass weapons of DOOM as you traverse Greece finding ways to help the God. But after you find that you've been betrayed by the gods you go and brutally murder all of the others.
