  • great plow, you could rent to the city to plow the side streets , if JOE Fontana would let it in his budget lolol ,, A london joke folks

  • i'm in the middle building a snow plow for my MTD, wish i can add the cylinders :( Too expensive! Good job!

  • Nice

  • Thanks; the blade has adjustable skid plates. They are only 2 1/2 X 3 inches square made out of 5/8 thick plate. I have some pictures posted of the tractor and blade on photobucket. Search " homemade 4x4 tractor" to find my album.

  • That's actually a Snowbear snowplow

  • @maximum1978 No it's not a Snowbear snowplow, it's homemade.

  • @benjaminwayneb -Hi i can say great work at ure tracktor, an heads up on the plowe is it missing skid plate on its back so u can set plowe hight so it does not where down the blade.Sry 4my bad Englich im from Sweden.

  • Are you using the former power steering pump as your source for hydraulic power?

  • @RustyCarnahan I'm using a belt driven hydraulic pump to operate the blade and a power steering pump for the steering.

  • @benjaminwayneb That makes sense. That way you don't need to have a priority valve in there. Good idea!

  • Totally awesome, not expecting to see this under "home made tractors". Reminds me of a baby log skidder. Anyways I was wondering if you could give me some more info on the blade you built. That things looks like you bought it from western! I really want one for my tractor, but it would cost $3000 alone to buy that blade setup from western.

  • @Starzandstrps I have some pictures posted on photobucket that show some more blade detail. Just search "homemade tractor" and checkout my album. The blade was made mostly from used steel that I already had or from a scrap yard. The 1/8th. inch sheet steel for the blade was sheared and stamped every 1/2 inch to obtain the curve at a metal supply and machine shop.

  • some good engineering in that! but I'd like to ask what are you using for your lift on the plow? I see a vertical ram and some sort of black rod. Most use chains, but is that just a steel rod?

  • @07ketnec The tractor is setup to use a chain or the steel bar that you see. I am using a steel bar to allow for down pressure, this works well when back dragging or when removing packed snow. Blade float is achieved by having a control valve with a float position.

  • How long did it take to build it?

  • @iOWNaFERGUSON Building the tractor took most of the spare time of one winter.

  • This is something else! this looks awesome!

  • wow, that is quite the machine. How much did it cost to build it?

  • The tractor cost about $3000.00 to build.

  • absolutly sweet,

  • whats that tractor made from 5/5

  • I am very impressed of your tractor. But i have seen all of your vids a 1000 times now. I need more videos!! :)

  • Very nice work.

  • Very beautiful welds on the plow and I would love to have a tractor like that with the 20:1 low range gear you have I bet that thing will push some serious snow.

  • Good job with the plow man. Cant wait to see the videos this winter. Did you get much use out of this in the summer? and I seee there still arent any mud videos of it LOL :P
