I am sorry, i love her songs, and she has a great voice, but not for this song, she should not have tried it imo, but to each his own taste...

You're absoluely right that this performance is not that great but she absolutely NAILS Chain of Fools on a live version that's included on the British version of her Singles/Live 2cd release from 1996 I believe. I really think that version rivals Aretha's!!
