The reason its doesn't sound like will Sheff is an easy one.....its not, its Jonathan Meiburg singing (who was in okkervil River until recently I believe), both him and Will started Shearwater as a side project.

Aye. Both bands got famous enough, though, that Will's dropped out of Shearwater and vice versa. I think Palo Santo is their first album without him.

It's amazing how bare this song is when you pay attention to it. Everything is well-placed. The singer's voice is a little too majestic though. It's always a little sad when the singer takes the song seriously. I mean seriously, it's just a song, singer. SIng the song but don't sing it so seriously. Songs seriously sung sound sappy. If you have that much passion you should go do something that matters.

Shearwater is a side project of Will Sheff who sings in Okkervil river, he has obviously made a concerted effort to sing majestically and in a serious constrained tone, while if you listen to Okkervil river he sings with more emotion than i could ever cry.. Also I agree free the antelops/goats :)
