If you want one shot kills no matter where you happen to hit them, play on hardcore mode. Switch to it in the server browser. You have way less health but if you're good you can easily get plenty of sniping kills.
I understand why you would think a sniper shot from 10 feet away would kil which it would. But most sniper rounds don't hit terminal velocity untill about 100+ yards.
i dont have a problem with the hit markers, it just means that you need to learn to go for headshots, which in turn means that you shit yourself that much more when you do get like a three hundred yard headshot. its good and stops retards from thinking that they are really good at sniping.
just thought you might want to know that was playing with a mate of mine on saturday (ZIGGY ROGUE) and he got a 1400 meter headshot on operation firestorm. i was happy with a 734 tho :D
the sniping system changed a lot from other battlefield series.. 4 example im a bc2 and a bf3 player, on bc2 quickscoping was pretty easy u just had to shoot from the stomach and above 4 one shot one kill, dice probably didnt like the quickscoping so on bf3 u need to fire on the neck or the area around the head .... i dont understand y they fucked up quickscoping ..... i loved quickscoping but this fags on dice destoyed it...
@Prove2205 its still possible if u cant do it u're shit, and BF3 is going more for BF2 style than bfbc2 style and in BF2 if u didnt have the m95, u have to hit a headshot.

Welcome to Battlefield, all of them need headshots for 1 shot kills. That's why snipers in battlefield games are so crazy, also, bullets have a weight to them, they are affected by gravity at long distances.

LISTEN UP. If you dont believe me on this go search it yourself. but at close range your sniper shot is traveling much faster than at long range, meaning it would go right through you and not cause a whole lot of damage unless hit in a vital area. At long range its traveling slower and upon entering the body would tear up and cause massive damage, almost instant death.
I always felt the 12x scope was totally useless on Metro, but that's kinda a good thing because it means there will be maps that are so big that you'll need a 12x scope. Sniping is gonna feel so good.
@lipslide101 You apparently don't the M40A5 is the best bolt action rifle in the game, the M93 wasnt shown in the beta, it couldnt be unlocked. but the M40A5 was the last unlock, and was exceptional and both closerange and longrange. I was number 1 in headshots with that gun for the beta. the semi auto default rifles for recon are being balanced anyways, because they were a little overpowered. 2 shot kill anywhere on the body, 1 shot headshot, with their rate of fire and recoil. littlebitOP.

i know only a couple of people will read this, but everyone needs to start somewhere. My HDPVR just broke recently right before i was going to make this channel :'( but thats not gonna stop me. I already have 1 great gameplay up on my channel that was recorded with my camera. Even tho the quality isnt as great as a PVR, its still pretty good. SniPinAtoR, man I love your videos but PLEASE. Don't play Battlefield like this if you snipe. It ruins the game for your teammates because I doubt even a god like you could get gameplay like this every game. I'd prefer somebody camping at the back of the map on my team to somebody running up and getting killed all the time. At least take the scope off for run and gunning. And if you want 1-shot kills you have to snipe like a sniper, not quickscope.
ya the beta your playing is 3 months old basically theirs a few glitches with snipers like its a 1hit kill if their running and sometime chest shots aren't 1 hit kills but ya most of that is supposedly fixed

the reason its not a one shot kill in the chest is that they didnt want the campy style that were in the last ones were there would be a whole team of jus siper and you would have those people that would jus sit in the bushes the whole game so they wanted it to be a little more fast passed. @DeadStriker12 Never like in COD. If you rush with a sniper, you WILL DIE guaranteed where as in COD, you can bust into a room full of people and take them all out with a sniper. That's not possible in BF.

Fucking lol, vests and armour can't stop sniper bullets. The Barret 50 cal is an anti-tank/vehicle rifle. Even the usual 50 cal machine gun round tear through vehicle armour. So a hitmarker even in the leg is ridiculous for that gun and the intervention. Also, sniper shots in the leg are never a one shot kill with any sniper on Mw2. Requires hs also? What's that?
@FinalEpoch1 Lol no it doesnt, a shot to the bottom part of the body is a 1 shot kill with FMJ/stopping power. and if you have both it's a shot to the leg kill. i'm telling you from expierience. cod is a game that's meant to have quickscopers in it. Battlefield isnt.
@FinalEpoch1 There is video evidence of a combat vest stopping an SVD shot to the chest. It is more believable that an SVD shot to the chest is not fatal in BF3 than a foot shot with an Intervention is a kill. Also, BF3 is more about balance and realism in that each soldier type fulfills a role SIMILAR to real like. CoD is about reflex and twitching. It's different play styles. However, in terms of realism, I think it would be hard to argue that CoD has a more realistic take on sniping.
@kankler CHALLENGE ACCEPTED Battlefield clearly has a more realistic take on sniping, because it contains most of the real life factors; such as bullet drop, spin drift, strike timing. true its kinda BS if you shoot someone in the chest and they dont die, but at the same time, COD is put your crosshairs on someone. and theyre fucked, no matter what range you are at. and a one shot kill foot shot with an M200 or L96, is bigger BS than a hit marker on a chest shot. long range Battlefield is better
That's how it is in real life I takes more than one bullet to kill even with heavier rounds. But the 50 cal it is very devastating and will rip you apart same as in bf3 u get a 50 cal and it's a one hit.

If you go into Battlefield with a CoD mind you will miss out. Diversify or die. That is the name of Battlefield. Although I will say this, bolt actions should be one shot kill regardless of where you hit as long as it is within 500 meters.
till date i have only played cod for a fps, but this year i changed to bf3 becuz mw3 is gonna be the same shit as mw2, which i really despised.......i would continue with cod if it would be a better version of black ops.....but tough luck cod!!!!

A lot of your complaining about hitboxes are the same as mines. Some shots have to kill instantly. But, its a beta, so u have to spect that have a lot of bugs, and errors.

Hey dude, the M95 is a one shot kill. Overpowered since bf2 =D the sv98 is the weakest of 5 bolt actions so its a pretty decent gun.

I agree to keep the damage for snipers the way they are, but lets not hate on quickscopers, I'm fine with them especially in Battlefield because it takes some skill so if your a good enough player like this awesome guy (love you snipinator!) You can defiantly contribute to the team and you don't have to be a "slayer" type quickscoper, this guy could defiantly be a team player with his skills. @FinalEpoch1 First of all, I'm not a fanboy, I love both games, so you cant tell me that. second of all, the sniper damage is not pathetic, infact with all the vests and the armour that the soldeirs wear, a shot to the chest wouldnt always kill. In cod a knife, or a sniper shot to the leg is almost a definite kill with a bolt action sniper, and I see atleast 20% of the players in mw3 and cod:bo trying to quickscope. Now I dont mind about quickscopers in bf, beacuse it accutally requiers hs.

Fucking lol, vests and armour can't stop sniper bullets. The Barret 50 cal is an anti-tank/vehicle rifle. Even the usual 50 cal machine gun round tear through vehicle armour. So a hitmarker even in the leg is ridiculous for that gun and the intervention. Also, sniper shots in the leg are never a one shot kill with any sniper on Mw2. Requires hs also? What's that?

@FinalEpoch1 There is video evidence of a combat vest stopping an SVD shot to the chest. It is more believable that an SVD shot to the chest is not fatal in BF3 than a foot shot with an Intervention is a kill. Also, BF3 is more about balance and realism in that each soldier type fulfills a role SIMILAR to real like. CoD is about reflex and twitching. It's different play styles. However, in terms of realism, I think it would be hard to argue that CoD has a more realistic take on sniping.

@kankler CHALLENGE ACCEPTED Battlefield clearly has a more realistic take on sniping, because it contains most of the real life factors; such as bullet drop, spin drift, strike timing. true its kinda BS if you shoot someone in the chest and they dont die, but at the same time, COD is put your crosshairs on someone. and theyre fucked, no matter what range you are at. and a one shot kill foot shot with an M200 or L96, is bigger BS than a hit marker on a chest shot. long range Battlefield is better

That's how it is in real life I takes more than one bullet to kill even with heavier rounds. But the 50 cal it is very devastating and will rip you apart same as in bf3 u get a 50 cal and it's a one hit.

If you go into Battlefield with a CoD mind you will miss out. Diversify or die. That is the name of Battlefield. Although I will say this, bolt actions should be one shot kill regardless of where you hit as long as it is within 500 meters.
