  • Thanks for sharing. Keep it up!!!!

  • If you're going to insult "LIBERALS", shouldn't you at least spell what they are correctly?

  • I'm deathly allergic to peanuts; i will go into anaphylactic shock.

If i used peanut oil in my car, would i have an allergic reaction?

Serious question, i know if i converted my car to this, i would someday encounter peanut oil.

Anybody know where i can find an answer to my question?

Besides an allergy specialist. Let's not point out the obvious :)

  • hippies...

  • ...or you can learn how to run your car on water at: thegas4free.blogspot,com

  • Hippies...

  • its not free, it cost 50cent to buy the waste oil, in my area I offer to pay $1 per gallon, and the resturant still won't sell it to me

  • they might not be buying the oil, but someone is going to BUY it, and that oil has to be produced somehow - needing some resources right?

And in the end of the day, oil is used for cooking. If food is going to be used as fuel, which is the tendency, we will have bigger problems with starvation than we have with pollution...

So that's why I think that is not the way to go - the regenerating energy sources are though.

  • Another problem is that there is a lot more oil than there is vegi-oil. Unless someone makes it easier for Americans to drive up and fill up on vegi-oil, they are going to continue to be lazy.

  • You should know Brasil is cutting it´s jungle so people like you can ride your car.

  • "No harmful emissions", not totally true, its debatable, especially compared to low sulfur diesel, but its not worse. "Don't support war don't buy oil"? Ha-ha I only buy oil domestically produced, it the second pump from the left at my gas station with the USA flag on it. (kidding) MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF WASTE GREASE DUMPED IN SEWER? Really?

  • Can you start the car on bio-diesel(instead of petroleum diesel) to heat it and then switch to veggie oil.

  • Engines have been made that can switch between different fuels but they're currently relatively expensive because you have to change the fuel-to-air ratio for every different fuel type.

  • Thank you soo much for making this film! Ive been looking into using biodiesal since I am a poor college student. lol

  • as it is, a staggering area of bush is cut down to plant palms that oil is extracted from every year, it seems to me that if everyone was running their cars on it, this would become much worse

  • Has anyone experimented with veg oil AND HHO together? Why do it, you might ask... would virtually eliminate pollution

  • you know the idea of it is generaly good, but the fact is if every car ran on veggie oil it wouldnt work. There arnt that many fat kids eating mcdonalds. Its good to show that we have the technology to run on things other then gas but its not something everyone in the world could run on. But props on being one who does it. I dont think im personaly ready for the Mcdonals fris air freshiner

  • Hey how do you use water for fuel? That would be better than Veggie oil! I've been messing around with water electrolisis, but how do you completely run it on water?

  • how fast does it burn did he say 5 gallons gets him 250 miles??? shiiittt no joke imma look into this

  • This is pretty kool, my cousin also did this and took the car all over the states with it for his thesis. He kept a journal and put it on line too

  • Edd China could solve this serious environmental issue- he is a genius and knows everything there is to know about engines. Please remember his name because he's one to watch.

  • Yup, the idea is classic but only smart people seem to consideret!

  • well tink about the principle of conservation of energy, the amount of energy u need to extract the hydrogen from the water = amount of energy liberated when the oxygen combines with the hydrogen in ur engine to give back water. taking into account enerygy losses during each process, it will still be inefficient. however, if we use suitable catalysts, we might require less energy to separate the hydrogen from the oxygen in water n this might be a solution. but such catalysts are unknown!

  • But if enough people actually bother to stop using Deisel, more of it won't be made into fuel and we can start using an alternative source.

  • I think is a nice idea, with all the used oil there is, from kentuckys a stuff, hehe...but maybe it´s not the solution for all the "new mercedes coming out". but i really believe it´s a nice mitigation idea.

  • Problem is, demand for that kind of oil is going up and it's becoming a hot item for thieves. Who would ever have thought that people would steal used grease? But they do.

  • i may do this on my old mercedes-benz 300D!

my plan is to run it on 85/15 diesel and vegetable oil in the winter and 97/3 vegetable oil and whiskey in the summer!

if there are any suggestions to other mixes that are useful, please comment or message me!

    TY

  • if your winters arnt too cold then 85/15 will be ok,in the UK it can be used at 75/25 and in the summer 50/50. i doubt very much it will start from cold on 97% veg oil. whats with the whiskey idea? wont that seperate out from the veg oil? minerals spirits is a better idea for thinning it. i run a twin tank system so i have no starting issues from cold.

  • dude your a fucking cock master . thousands of people are dying and you think its good. GEorge bush led this country into a big black hole and hes leaving for the next president to take us out of it. So you fucking gay WAD dont talk shit if you dont know what its about

  • i just hear on the radio that you do have to pay tax to drive grease car on the road. By the end of the year you will have to pay $0.08 per gallon in California. Every state is different, some tax higher, some don't tax at all...

  • These people should be applauded for their efforts! I wish we all could do this. I wonder if it has to be a diesel car, or could it be a regular gasoline car? Also I wonder if they can use new clean veg oil,(cause someone said we might run out of french fry oil!! IN the USA ? AS IF!! I know it's besides the point,(because it's a win, win situation for the drivers and the restaurant owners,,people helping people, what a concept! I hope this goes all the way to the WHITE HOUSE!!!!

  • These people should be applauded for their efforts! I wish we all could do this, I wonder if it has to be a diesel engine, or would it work in a regular gasoline car! ALSO>>>>I wonder if they have tried new clean veg oil? Would that work the same? I know it's besides the point, but someone said on here we might run out of french fry oil...in the USA....AS IF!!!! The video is great hope is spreads to the White House..

  • Do u have to pay tax on that? I wish i could do that to my mercedes, but its 4 years old, and i think its electronic injection and i dont wanna screw up the engine! Might buy a cheap old diesel tho, as it seems it will soon pay for ites self!

  • i have a lot of that used oil screened and cleaned in my shed could i mix it 50 -50 with diesel and run it in my 1987 ford idi 6.9 diesel any help ?

  • oledodgediesel yes a 50/50 mix is fine,it will still start and run fine, in the winter you just increase the mix of diesel to 75/25

  • what was wrong with just using the stock factory tank instead of a special tank to carry it in?

  • Hey Dan! This video really inspired me...did you convert the car yourself or bought an already made system? I am sorry, as a female I want to make sure the convert will be simple.. Thanks

  • wow :)

  • hahaha only 2.99?!

    its 3.99 a gallon

    here in chicago

  • True , but you can use water gas hybrid with a very simple modification and get 50 miles to the gallon in a Ford Taurus !

  • Good for yall! I wish more people did this...I wish I had a diesel...

  • The question is, when people start using these "waste oils" will there be enough?

We also use Several million gallons of gasoline in a normal city.

  • earthmagekl7 short answer would be no. lots of people do it at the moment but not everyone wants to spend th time getting a bit mucky just to drive their cars. i do and i must say its great getting free fuel.

  • one week ago this vid had 20,000 views

  • PEACE BROTHER AND SISTER!

  • Interesting story, maybe we all will have to soon start using veggie oil. I would suggest if you heat the used oil to at least 250 plus degrease. It will filter much faster.

    skilber1

  • my teacher had us watch this video for ideas on how to give examples for our final exam i think that is neat

  • Hmmm. I thought it was mostly white trash that drove 18 wheelers.

  • sorry, but i don't understand this kinda of stuff with admissions, oil, fuel, and mechanical stuff... sorry, so its not amusing to me? lol

  • cool video, great to see people (specially americans ;-)) using their brains

  • great to see people making up their minds, and inventing alternatives... alternatives to fossil fuel, to inderectly support america's little wars.... sorry I don't drive

  • Outstanding!

  • man i love this!

  • plus once he's out he can NEVER be re-elected into office.

    THANK GOD.

  • veggie car for veggie brained people

  • is the engine just as powerful with the veggie fuel? how much does the special tank cost?

  • who says you have to be against oil if you're against war. oil is not a problem of itself, it's just a natural resources. if you have people fighting over land, do you have to be against land, too? Come on. give me a break.

tell me how to run my car for cheap, that's fine, but leave out the misguided political rhetoric, please.

  • You're very welcome, sir and/or ma'am.

  • hmm .... i think daryl installed that ! am i right??

    m

  • Not bad! Well put together.

  • People who accuse the oil companies of making record profits are either regurgitating from the uneducated or are themselves uneducated. Find out the difference between "gross profit" and "net profit". Since oil is more expensive for them to refine, they have to pay more, therefore they must charge more for the end product. They earn more money, sure, but they have to pay out more too.

  • The feasibility of driving the Veggie Car is based upon comparing the cost of a gallon of gasoline versus the cost of a gallon of V8 Juice, used to propel the Veggie Car.

  • I'd imagine that many decades ago, the owners of oil companies handed over hefty sums of cash over to owners of the motor companies and told the motor companies to manufacture their cars in such a way that the only way the cars would operate is if their gasolines were pumped into the cars

  • I wish gas was still that cheap. $2.99 those days are gone now

  • oh your against war? thats what humans do we could all have the same amount of something but we always want to be one up on each other. oil takes the same amount to burn and create as it puts out ethonal will create would hunger becuase everyone will move to farming corn and thats a main food in many countries. so oil will do the same thing. dur, you cant not polute when your population is this huge!

  • umm what happens when everyone starts using oil? then we have oil factories lol.

  • I own 2 restaurants and I would defintely give it away for free.

  • If a whole bunch of people started using vegetable oil, then there would be a huge shortage and rapid run up in prices. There would be shortages at fast food restaurants. French Fries would cost hundreds of dollars for a small, and thousands of dollars for a large.

  • its sustainable but less environmentally friendly, cooking oil produces more hydrocarbons and CO2 when burnt than diesel, weird how so many people believe "new info" videos without thinking for themselves

  • If everyone drove a veggie car then we also need to eat alot more KFC

  • You may have a point picaxe, however to me it seems that there is an environmental offset in the fact that they are using recycled oil which otherwise may have damaged our world in another way. Would you agree that the cost is good (compare it to the soaring price of crude oil)? I also see the benefit that using veggie oil may have in reducing the motivation for 'oil' wars.

  • Even so we need to stop relying on the Middle East for our fuel

  • Heh. Help contribute to global warming! Use vegetable oil today! XD

  • it is weird... think of the connected consequences of what your saying. is it environmentally friendly to mine for oil. do you think releasing more hydrocarbons and co2 into the atmosphere is worth being less dependent on oil? in this case, with such narrow differences, i do.

  • The amount of carbon dioxide emitted when this fuel is burnt would be the same amount (or very slightly less) as the plants took in during photosynthesis when they were growing. So using biodiesel is best described as carbon neutral.

However, using fossil-diesel releases carbon dioxide that was locked up millions of years ago.

Weird how so many people dont actually think things all the way through. Believe it or not, we dont actually need fossil fuels.

    Good video, thanks for posting.

  • You might want to give a link to support that statement. Perhaps I've been looking at different sources but all suggest that biodiesel and veritable oils have equal or higher mpg(depending on type of plant oil) and release less carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons then conventional petroleum based diesel fuel.If I'm wrong please send me information. I prefer to be informed.Thanks.

  • Great video. Thank you for posting. This really made me think. keep on keep'n on

    live'n phree!

  • Hmm... they have produced electric cars that can go close to 300 miles on a full charge, wtf are you talking about? that's like a car with a full tank.

  • he said 250 miles on a 5 gallon jug, not a full tank

  • Hmmmmm.. I've thought about this before man. And while electric cars would be the way to go, producing the electricity and storing it is the problem. Batteries are expensive, and they go bad eventually, creating waste. Nuclear Power Plants have to do something with the waste radioactive material, so eventually, it pollutes the planet as well. Veggie Oil and Petroleum based fuels are both hydrocarbons, they both produce harmful emissions. It's NOT greener, it's only cheaper for the few that do it

  • I don't care what everyone else is saying... I think this is really cool... thanks for sharing. I wish I knew someone who could help me get a car that doesn't eat up money and gas like the one I have now.

  • diesel is like 4.60 in new york, it's crazy

  • now with the rising prices of fuel here in Philippines, i think this invention really helps.

  • THAT'S GREAT !!!

  • So if this really caught on and everyone started doing it (and we should) do you think it would still be given free by the restaurants?

  • If everyone started and restaurants did start to charge i bet it would still be cheaper than gas.

    It's a great idea.

  • OH MAN, So they get 50 miles per gallon using oil? that's wonderful! I think I heard that they're using a 10 gallon tank., so they get 500 per tank! Great!

  • It's the diesel VW that does that. Most Volks Wagon cars that have a TDI engine and are in that size range get approximately 45 to 50 mpg on the highway. The fuel is not where they get the mileage. It is the torque/weight ratio of the car.

  • The gass is so low! In Long Island, it's up to like $3.40 for reg!

  • Really cool. Unfortunately, about the third trip to dip rancid grease from a dumpster into the car trunk would be about the limit for most people. Sure, sure... it smells like french fries...

  • Could you run a car using vegi oil AND diesel mixed together inthe same tank or must the tank hold vegi oil exclusively?

  • This requires a diesel engine to operate. Gasoline engines rely on spark ignition. Diesel engines run on compression. If you put vegetable oil in a gasoline engine and ran it you would crack your engine block in a hurry.

  • if you put veg oil in a petrol engine it would start smoking badly and run rough then die. but once flushed out and refilled with petrol it would run fine again. many idiot drivers accidently put diesel in instead of petrol at the pumps, they still run(just) and no major mechanical faults occur if stopped soon enough, it certainly wouldnt crack the block.

  • really? i wouldnt like to try it tho! lol

  • interesting

  • Now a real entrepreneur would get his own gasstation, and offer that to the diesel-cars for like 3/4 the regular price. Seeing how restaurants need to hire a company to dump it out, they'd prolly give it to you for free!

  • I SUPPORT THE WAR IN IRAQ/AFGANISTAN!!! even if u belive in clean fuel emmision it dosent mean that you cant support the war

  • I can see a few issues with this. For one, can you imagine how often you'd have to replace the fuel filter in that?! Granted most people in the US have never done this on their normal cars because they're knobs, but still, this one would dirty up a lot quicker I'd think. The long term effects on the fuel injectors couldn't be good either.

  • Gas is 3.94 USD where I live in Chicago.

  • Fuck, the gas prices at the end seem low compared to what I paid just today.

  • Why are there so many judgmental people out there?? These guys are improvising - changing their actions to better themselves & the environment, it doesn't matter about their agenda, they are taking action! The world (especially the USA) needs more action-oriented people.

  • what I'd do to have a diesel engine right now, but then again I was just jealous to see that your regular gas prices are between 2.99-3.08 down here in california we're paying any where between 3.85- 4.05...(so investing on a diesel) well anyways great vid very helpful

  • Okayyyyy. Let's all dance around a tree and celebrate the summer solstice. Gimee a break. Put up your bongs, put down your LSD, wash your head, get the knotted plats out your hair, bathe, and join the REAL world.

  • o you mean the delusion you call the "Real world". why don't you get your head out of societies ass and open your mind alittle bit.

  • its not illegal at all my friend who is a police officer runs his dielsel car of recycled cooking oil also was on top gear with no mention of it being illegal

  • no it isnt illegal in U.K at all a good friend of mine runs his on it and hes is currently training to be a policeman also it was on top gear and no mention tht it was illegal

  • I think the Mythbuster did something like this

  • yeah, i'm sure when we fought in WWII the real reason was oil, not trying to stop the mass murdering of innocent people. saying that all of our wars are really fought over oil is an extremely naive statement.

  • Amen brother, well done.

  • doesnt your car smell like shet?

  • It isn't illegal, you just have to notify HMRC if you are using or producing it.

  • It be nice if I could change my car to run on vegetable oil or some other resource, because gas prices are only rising and rising. If only someone would re-invent the EV1 (an eletrical car)

  • yummy fried chicken on wheels:D

  • what a cute couple, filtering oil together. haha

  • doesnt it ruin ur engin if you run on veggie oil?

  • what about the old ass dodge van that you drive around for the "contracting and finishing" you do???? Im sure that drinks UNLEADED GAS like its water.......I do not support war..but buying gasoline is something majority of society has to do to maintain a JOB.

  • I know you know what im talking about if you've tried to start one of those oldschool disel's in 20 degree weather, i guess if you dont mind running on chinese chicken grease this is the tightness for you but if you wanna drive a car which impresses your freinds its way out of the picture, THE SOLUTION, get a normal job and pay like every other normal person in the world does.

  • OMG i know people who do this and its so ghetto becuase you gotta dip a bucket in some dirty trashcan which smells like chinese chicken and get your hands all greasy, and then you gotta filter it with a t-shirt and it takes way to long, plus all diesel cars have that same noise like their making popcorn while your driving and they suck so bad in winter time with the glow plugs

  • My neighbor has one of these cars. You do not want to drive behind one of these cars, my dad calls them "stink-cars" because they smell like old french fries!

  • I totally support you 911insidejob91 !!!

  • WOW 2.99! gas is now 3 49!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO GIVE ME COOKING OIL!!! NOA!!!!!!!!!

  • *smells liek French Fries, sorry... ;)

  • even if it's cheaper, it's still not totally free (and illegal at some places...). But it tastes like French Fries if it passes-by... :)

  • gas is 12 dollars in france...

  • Yeah a friend of drives a VW on veggie oil as well. Restaurants give him the oil for free!Everyone who is thinking of doing it might

want to hurry before try to ban it...lol

  • Yer so full of shit to say that. 911 was caused by terrorists and we have caught many of them also and they have admitted it.

  • these are the first two vegetarians i came across that i like :-)

  • If it wasn't for war, this country would not exist and you would not have any freedom to put that oil in your car. Get your head out of the sand. Freedom is not free!

  • it not illegal to run cooking oil in uk you must pay tax on every litre you use it only 27p a litre all legal :)

  • An excellent video. Well done. Anything that keeps anyone from having to buy petroleum products is awesome. Biodiesel, hybrids and things like ethanol are the answer. Enough with the Middle East getting richer from us yet having enough nerve to hate us at the same time. Alternative energy rocks !!

  • fleeing Cuba to be sunk on the high seas; for a wave of violent terrorism to be launched in Washington, D.C., Miami, and elsewhere. People would be framed for bombings they did not commit; planes would be hijacked. Using phony evidence, all of it would be blamed on Castro, thus giving Lemnitzer and his cabal the excuse, as well as the public and international backing, they needed to launch their war.[13]

  • bravo.

  • This is directed toward the video poster...or anybody else who knows...

Where can I buy the stuff to do that? I have always liked doing projects to learn stuff, and this would be perfect. Are there kits, and do they come with everything you need, or do you have to make the stuff yourself? And where do I order these?

  • Over in EXPENSIVE England, running your car on cooking oil is illegal. Thats due to the gov not getting a tax return back on the fuel. SO yes Oil/fuel is the route to crippling any gov

  • Hey I KNOW YOU GUYS!!! Katy & Daniel!

  • Do the restaurants give the vegetable oil to you? If not, how much does it cost?

  • Your car looks like a SHIT-MOBILE, though I like it

  • I wonder how well would this work in a big diesel truck (like a ford F350)? Is there a power loss?

This would give me an excuse to drive the big rig more often.

  • Same here in Germany^^

  • Excellent video- that was fascinating!

    Thanks!

    Sunshine + laughter to yooo!

  • BRILLIANT!

  • They remind me of modern hippies! But yeah still a good idea!

  • that is so cool

  • There is not enough cooking for everyone

  • yeah running your car on cooking oil is illegal over here in the UK

  • lol

  • Why is running your car on cooking oil illegal in UK?

  • No it isn't!!! You can use 10000miles worth a year tax free in the UK. The law changed several months ago

  • It's legal if you pay duty on the fuel. You can run your car on anything, If you pay the duty.

  • That sux...why is it illegal?

  • all duty is payed on oil when brought so nothing can be done to you

  • ? its perfectly legal in the UK as long as you pay duty on the oil which i think is 26p per litre (much cheaper the petrol or diesel from the pump)

regardless I would still rather use normal fuel in my car... as I dont care for the extra cost enough to justify the hassle of filtering etc (and the cars producing more greenhouse gas theory is a load of crap)

  • It's only illegal if you don't notify HMRC.

You just have to pay fuel duty (fuel tax) on the oil, and you have to notify HMRC that you are using/producing it.

The duty to pay, depends on whether it is classed as a biodiesel or 'cooking oil'.

  • No it's not... You just are *supposed* to keep check on your annual usage. I know many deisal drivers that use it.

  • wow that blows its pretty stupid too, the UK should allow people to do what they want and be pro-enviromental

  • being from the uk is illegal over here

  • very good!

  • Thats what diesel engines were originally marketed for back in the early 20th century. so that farmers could make their own fuel instead of buying it.

  • not the easiest thing to do if dont have a house.....

    but a good idea.

i saw a site that sells DIY kits, under $1000. i thought u needed at least a diesel engine to even attempt this...

  • Gas and oil are causing a world wide food shortage.. speaking of ghetto's if it keeps up.. you'll be living in one too...

  • ew that bitch is fuggin disgusting.she looks like the dirtiest, fattest, ugliest hippie iv ever seen

  • Wow... I can see the intelligence just glowing around you..... people who say those kinda things are usually projecting what they think of themselves onto others.. in order to make themselves feel better about their own sad little pathetic meaningless lives.. Sound about right?

  • is that suppose to an insult.

    O_o

  • in the 70's a couple of Mexican engineers invented the car based on water. They disappeared misteriously. Look into it.

  • wonder what it smells like when they r cruising down the road.....is that mcdonalds? nope, that vw in front of us....lol

  • Good for you Aaron -keep spreading the word. Muckdonalds are putting gallons of the stuff down the drain apparently.

  • Wow! Mention something constructive, logical, highly efficient, and something that could jeopardise the whole fossel fuel industry and watch all the nasty little fascists come out to play! It just doesn't take a 'hippy' to spot the obvious logic in this -everyone should be doing it.

  • This is a good idea, if you get 250 miles per 5 gallon that really not too bad. Will gasoline prices going sky high, especially in California, and the ozone causing global warming this is smart. Hope you have approached the government or any car makers with this idea.

  • most of our wars are about oil? maybe 1 or 2 but what others? damn hippies

  • what do you do if you want to go from lets say

Los angeles to san francisco? Do you carry a 30 gallon barrel in the back seat. Great idea.

  • Stop along the way and refuel @ a restaurant by asking for their waste veg oil. They all have it, and it costs them money to dispose of it, they would be glad for you to take it off their hands

  • I meant it when i said great idea, it has been out for a while, my friend used to this in the bay area but he had to process the oil into diesel. The only problem I see here is restaurants not wanting to do it because of liability bullshit. In the USA everything is a lawsuit and a law. Maybe homeless people can earn some money by collecting oil from restaurants and making a few dollars, they make a living, you don't have to give the money, no excuses, they earn their $ everyone wins.

  • Yep, there's got to be a way to make it feasible, but so strange--if it is possible, WHY aren't more of us doing this? Why don't we have the choice of what kind of fuel to burn? It's just bizarre to me, that if this works, we are ignoring it!

  • good job guys good news small diesels are now legal for sale in the us again vw tdi is back!

  • Look in the tiny micro world that veg. oil exists now...it may be free to this guy. But real simple NOTHING IS FREE. It would not take much of an increase in the number of users to out strip supply of waste veg oil. Sure veg oil is cool but its not the answer and it isnt free.

  • using such oil releases poisonous gasses

    dont do it

  • Biodiesel has been around for a while. Its not a perfect alternative since gasoline powered cars can't use it, only diesel powered vehicles.

  • hi kind people in youtube please viset my site and click the underlined blue words on the right side of my site, even just 1 by that you will be help me to continue my studies..

  • "If you don't support war then you shouldn't support buying oil"? You're an idiot. Ask for your tuition money back.

  • i cant believe thats all it takes and yet we continue to use all this oil
