америкосы, вы зажрались! вот наши бомжи каждую баночку в ручную прессуют, в мешочки складывают, и несут на себе за несколько километров в пункт приема цвет мета!... блеять...!
A family, a beer drinker OR a family With a beer drinker can go through many cans in a week --- anyone that says their foot works as good/better smashing cans with your foot doesn't use many cans, gets old fast, not to mention it's not real good on most houses floors.... And don't tall me you take each one outside each time you need to smash them!
So Right on NICE, Prox swx that works on Aluminum cans?
Very nice. Don't worry about the haters out there --- In America we can throw cans out, pays a company to collect them or recycle them ourselves and get a couple bucks while "saving the earth."
Hey i am making a can crusher for my senior design project, im assuming you used a pneumatic piston here, what kind of sensor did you use? anyway you can send me a message with where you got your supplies?
Impressive Build Lars, but i'm puzzled over what kind of sensor you used. I don't think it's optical because it doesn't resemble an optical sensor on your other video. Aluminum is not ferrous so it cannot be a hall effect sensor. not shock because someone might bump the device, so what is it? None of my cans are heavy enough to trigger my micro lever switches...
One note- unfortunately your toggle switch isn't going to withstand that kind of abuse for long.
@Morkvonork It is mainly out of the need for something that will last. I have searched high and low for a can crusher that will pay for itself in the aluminum recycling it does. Nothing on the market will withstand the abuse necessary to turn a profit. Cheap, highly priced junk is all you can find when it comes to can crushers.
Please make a vid on how to make this. it would make crushing cans a lot easier because every month or two i have to crush an average of 2000 cans and i don't have a can crusher
No hopper yet. Tried a few simple ideas that didn't work, then got tied up with other projects. As of now, I just load them by hand. Can still crush a garbage bag of cans in about 1 minute.

what is the cost of compressing air? potato3004

Would'nt feet also be good at this?

Step one... step on $150 worth of cans to raise money to build this.
Step two... step on enough cans to pay for the energy to run this. :)

Now build a magazine to load the cans in.

drinking problem?? I guess since you were able to construct this device its not a problem but a motivation tool.
bobiana289 3 months ago
If you used a worm drive you could put a crusher at each end and it would be blistering fast and not require compressed air.

i am curious as to what sensor you are using that detects aluminum metal.
also want to know what air piston you are using@ how much pressure, thanks

Why do so many people on youtube build can crushers? Is there any money in it or is it just for fun?
Morkvonork 5 months ago
@Morkvonork its for fun, recycling companies shred the cans, so these are for
A) showing off engineering talent
B) proof of principal
C) for small-time recyclers

"The sensor inside only detects metalic objects and will not activate on fingers."
haha, can you make a video of your hand after it happenes?

Any material list or drawings etc? I'd really like to build one but don't know where to start. Thanks in advance.
