"God bless America" is not patriotic.

You can´t expect God to be patriotic, let it to the citizens of the nation.

And being "patriotic" isn't exactly a good thing, because it closes your eyes to the bad aspects of a country.

USA are a great example.

You should really read over your comments before posting them. There is no need to deride other people's beliefs in such an insulting way.

Patriotism in its purest sense is just loving your country. If we don't require people to be perfect in order to love them, why should we require a country, which is made up of people, to be perfect in order to feel patriotic? I believe true patriots, and really all people in general, simply want their country, and the world to be a better place.
