  • very very nice

  • Nice!!

  • Who wrote this then? I thought it was by Matthew White the Euphonium player. This is version is much tastier.

  • @PersianWater It's Nat's piece

  • "Better quality"

    Highest is 240p -_-

  • The tube has the best multiphonics for sure. This is awesome.

  • guys thats not a tuba, thats a susaphone

  • @101nike1 they are the exact same but one goes around your body it is a tuba or a sousaphone

  • nice

  • Awesome! That was very Bela Fleckistic!

  • This would fit into a Aphex Twin song. :D

  • Жёёт сюзафонист, по кайфу !!!

  • Does anyone know if there is a transcription of this song ANYWHERE? Or anything that can show me how to play it? I've been looking forever.

  • un figo assurdo

  • Nice...

  • really funny jajajajaja I like it!!

  • how do you make that sound at 1:32?

  • @plane15man it's called flutter tongue where yoy blow into the mouthpiece with an effect of making an raspberry in your mouth

  • @piesporky2 thanks. I'll try that, sounds pretty dificult.

  • how does he do that thing at 1:03

  • i plan on being the next best susaphone/tuba player... remember this name (jon nouse) for in a few years he wil be dotting the I in an ohio state football game :P

  • nat mcintosh is my freaking hero lol

  • The Youngblood Brass Band is god damned incredible.

  • epic win

  • I already wondered how Butterscotch manages singing and beatboxing at the same time, but how can he play a CHORD on the tuba?? Awesome, Thanks for the video!

  • what brand is that tuba??????? looks like a king

  • I got inspired by this guy to make up my own beatboxing routine. It's less of a song, and more of a novelty thing. I used some of the same sounds that he did, just because they were so epic. (I can also play Baadsvik's Fnugg quite well.) I'll try to upload videos of that stuff eventually. (I'm pretty much a celebrity in my school now that people have heard me play it.)

  • #ROFL

  • This is the most incredible display of music I've ever seen. How the HELL does he play CHORDS ON A TUBA/SOUSAPHONE???

  • @undiscokidd42 i can do that i just run out of air reallly fast

  • @undiscokidd42 multiphonics, play the note and hum either higher or lower at the same time...I used to mess around and do it with my Euphonium and Baritone

  • I miss him in the dallas brass

  • This is not higher quality or sound. Find your own content.

  • O_O

  • Nat McIntosh is a pimp.

  • someone should make a video of nat mcintosh vs. oystein baadsvick

  • no one compares to nat. hes got chops beyond belief

  • Super!!!

  • his brother is my highschool orchestra teacher

  • @HollyDeth Jealous! :D

  • Mcintosh is a tuba god.

  • funny and very good!!

  • okay, you could have used some of this as sound effects for the Gremlins movies!!!!!

  • oh gotcha

  • whats that technique called n00bzaurs?

  • As far as I know it doesn't have any other name than "multiphonics". There are just different ways of doing it.

  • I took private lessons with Dr. Micheal Forbes last semester, and I got to meet up with him this last week, and Mike and Nat are in a Tuba Quartet named Sotto Vocce. Check them out, crazy stuff. But worth listening to.

  • how does he he play that part that sounds like a DJ's disk?

  • a technique called multiphonics, very difficult to learn and apply, involving the buzzing of a pitch into the mouthpiece while falsetto humming another pitch. Crazy hard.

  • There's also a technique where you vibrate half of your lip at one speed and the other half at another. That's what hes doing. Better sound. I know a kid who does a 5th harmony, and the third vibrates out due to the overtones, so he gets a full chord. It's crazy

  • Nat is not using the method you speak of. My studio had a master class with the Dallas Brass and I specifically asked this question. He is singing and playing seperately on his mouthpiece and via his vocal cords.

  • Really? I was told differently, but not from him. Thanks for that.

  • No problem. Up to the point when Dallas Brass come to town, I was still under the assumption he was in YoungBlood Brass band, so When I opened up the program I was pleasantly surprised.

  • Sick, sick , sick!!!

  • i played with this guy a couple times he is sick!

  • MOTHER. FUCKING. AWESOME.

  • Played with this guy live on stage. Pretty sweet.

  • The DJ-effect is by singing in falsette trough the mouthpiece. Really a cool effect..

  • Does anyone know how nat does that high squeaks and the dj stuff? I know he uses multi-phonics but yeahhh. this man is a total genius. who said tubas cant go high?

  • ya they can lol i can go close to that and its his voice plus him playing as u said multi phonics he buzzes a tid bit then uses his voice

  • This is amazing!

  • just figure it out its not hard

  • Right, its not like multi-phonics are unbelievably hard to control or anything.

  • does anyone know of a place where i can get the music for this? anybody?

  • I'd get on the Dallas Brass website and ask (e-mail) Nat yourself. Musicians, particularly tubists) tend to be nice about questions about that stuff. I doubt it's published, though. I'd say just listen and watch his fingers, and try to write it out yourself. Good ear training practice!

  • I have it.

  • It's not written down anywhere, I spoke to him during a masterclass at my college.

It took him about a year to perfect the skills he uses in here, but he said it took him about 15 minutes to make up the basic "warrior".

  • I have it.

  • transcribe it! He nvr plays it the same twice anyway.

  • This is what is sounds like when someone is finnaly having a bowel movement after being constipated for 5 years.

  • awesome!!!

  • EXCELLENT !

  • IMPRESIONANTE!!!

  • i wish i could find the longer video of this stuff he plays....theres a video that is a slideshow of pics with this playing in the background can someone help me find it?

  • he preformed at the UW Madison Varsity concert last april... Would be cool if they brought him back again this year

  • That was awesome!

  • OWNAGE

  • I wish I was this man!!

  • how can this be higher sound hq????? you just rip it from my youtube... i have the original so pretty much your claim is a lie
