IFS is not a bad set up for the majority of people who use/buy the chevy/gmc truck. I only do light towing (3500lbs) and moderate yard work (pulling trees and chopping wood). For my need the IFS is perfectly fine suspension. For heavy duty work/towing/offroad, Id opt for the ford superduty with the solid front axle. I think dodge has also done away with the solid axel in recent years?
