Mr Jackson convinced the New Zealand Hollywood pandering government to change the laws of the land and provide tax breaks so he and his Hollywood producers could make even more money from his little hobby. No doubt the New Zealand Prime Minister John Key will be first on the VIP list at the Hobbit's premier. NZ hero? Not in my and all free thinking Kiwi's view.
Do you believe in Harvey Dent?! .. Anyone? ... Anybody.. Well maybe you do but then again maybe you don't. Either way it doesn't really matter so check out my 5 minute Two-face fan film on my page. It aint half bad.
omg he's so skinny!! Well, good for him! I hope he's healthier and happy and SO FREAKIN HAPPY he's doing the Hobbit! Didn't know he was a kiwi either :)
No one is better than Peter Jackson. I agree that he was better when he was chubby but I think he is still a better and much nicer person than any other director.
@MOBremember because making a movie based on a book has gone a lot better than making movies based on video games there's no point making a halo movie if its not going to be good
wwwwwwwwwwwoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the hobbit!!!!!!!!!! YEAAAAA!!!!!!!!! NO LOVES IT MORET THAN I DO!!!!! =O HAHA.....
@Thisismytrollingface Well, he may be back soon, honestly. PJ looks like he's started to put the weight back on in the last few months. Not a lot mind you, but certainly chubbier now than he is here.
@Thisismytrollingface He's actually putting the weight back on, look at the 2nd production video of the hobbit, he's returning to the peter we all know :D
@angelofdarkness49 I just saw it and he should stay exactly how he is in that video, he looks really nice and cuddly, but not as fat as he was so yeh :P
@mekarpass7 I'm not 100 percent on this but as I understand it Star Wars is George Lucas' creation. They didn't give him a story and ask him to direct it. Lucas had a story that was too big and expensive to make. He'd shelved it, and actually wanted to do a remake of Flash Gordon. The studio said no because that was too expensive so he focused on part IV of the Star Wars saga because he figured it was the one he could pull off with the limited resources he had.
Star Wars was LUCAS' idea all along, he invented everything about it. he directed the episode IV, but he cudnt do it for V and VI because it wud be alot of work. he tried to get Spielberg to direct it but there was some problem with the directors guild and they forced him to pick another Director. he made it all, he just wasnt on scene everyday supervising things for V and VI
I pray that Peter Jackson will be directing these movies. It may be somewhat a fortunate thing that Guillermo Del Toro has stepped down as director. Its not that i think hes not suitable, but its best this movie to be as glorious as the Lord of the Rings movies. And whos better to make this true than Peter Jackson. We the fans all support you, and we hope you make the best for this movie just like you did with LOTR!
@RulerL0rd I for one certainly hope that Peter Jackson directs The Hobbit and then hires out 2, 3, 4, or 5 subunit directors for the many other scenes that the movie will require. Then Peter can pick and choose the shots and scenes into a more complete movie much like the style of the other 3 movies
Peter has lost a lot of weight, and he looks good. Though it is hard to get used to the new look, I am so used to him a little rounder as per the LOTR days!! Phillippa Boyens has also lost weight (see the lovely bones vids) and she looks stunning! Bring on the Hobbit you guys!
I disagree. Peter Jackson is still producing it. and Guillermo del Toro directing it.
I can pretty much promis you this will be a block buster. But with a directer that can portray such a sparkly fairy tale film like Pans Labyrnth coupled with Peter Jacksons legendary directing (now producind) this will be one film to look forward to.
@moneymayhem2000 yes, after i watched this interview, i checked out several more, and figured out that things are not as bad as i first thought. after i realised that this guy directed Pan's Labyrinth i gave up all my hard fealnings, cuz that is a beautiful movie. :) so i'm satisfied now, but thanks for your comment anyway!
This is probably because of my isolated Canadianess, but does anyone else keep thinking he's saying Christians when he says questions? "I know there's gonna be a lot of Christians about the Hobbit..." What? That can't be right...
@gringolazlo I always thought that Elijah Wood should come back and be Bilbo, if they used the right makeup and stuff they could make him look different, but I think that's just because I like Elijah Wood.
PJ managed to avoid those in the trilogy. One of the few positive aspects in his movies. It'll be awful if this turns out like narnia. In the book, even orcs make silly poems and songs, not good.
true, but if you watched the bonus material on how they did the movie...
IMO those guys NEED the break from Middle Earth
Not to mention Jackson intended doing LOTR first anyways...so Hobbit was probably not on their minds AT the moment. They knew they had to do it, but the question is when....

There are different types of intelligence.
Someone who isn't v. gifted in verbal expression could easily be a stone genius in the visual arts. And for that matter, someone can be a brilliant writer, but not all that eloquent in off-the-cuff speech, esp if they've got social anxiety issues, or even just a bit of shyness.
