lol nice screen but not iphone killer anytime soon, im sorry but the touchscreen doesnt look capasitve at all, and it has the same boring interface as evry other phone out now lol, the camera doesnt have much 2 say same crappy camera, and the design it ugly man, why did they made it look like that, its just horrible
Nice review. Which one is better the Nokia N86 8MPix or the HTC Hero? I was reading that the HTC have very good GPS system, is it true? What about new Operational System? What about the quality of pictures with the 5MPix HTC Hero camera? The HTC Hero looks much better.
Straighten out that dead space chunk of plastic on the bottom and I'd trade my iPhone. That UI is wicked but the phone itself could use a facelift. I don't get what's up with the G1 and this having that bent portion on the bottom. Just ruins the look.
The only reason iPhone doesnt support HD video is because it was kill the battery life so apple made a decision to limit it. I personally like the original Android UI compared to HTC Sense...hopefully Google is making some good money on these phones.
OK, the full length video is up. HD when it's done processing. YouTube is having trouble with some AVI files all of a sudden, it seems. This is an MP4 version.
But to be accurate the iPhone 3G S actually IS capable of 720p.... ^o^ not that Apple and the mighty Jobs will allow anyone to enable it without jailbreak, but .. XD just to be technically accurate.
Well, to be technically accurate, the chipset in the iPhone 3GS is capable of it, but there could be plenty of reasons why the phone doesn't record HD right now. I'm sure Apple will allow its users to have HD in a couple of years, just like they waited for video (or MMS, or copy/paste, or a host of other things) that they *could* have supported from the start, but didn't.
There are plenty of phones that don't support many of the features the iPhone has. And regardless of whether or not the iPhone didn't support those things before, it does now, so there is no point in continually complaining about it.
You are missing the point. You were the one talking about how the iPhone *could* support HD. My point is that what the chipset supports doesn't matter, as is evidenced by the past features Apple didn't include. I'm just pointing out the problems with your "to be accurate" statement. You aren't being accurate at all, you just use any chance available to say how the iPhone is better than whatever it is else that anybody else is talking about. I'm blocking you.
In terms of the UI it is a very different thing. I still think the Apple iPhone UI is better packaged overall and easier to use, but the Hero's UI is so much better than standard Android, it isn't funny. It's very good, but probably not quite up to the iPhone's level.
Well, it is still the Android OS. But I think the changes are more tightly integrated with the core OS than TouchFLO 3D is with Windows Mobile. But still, the bulk of the changes appear to be related to the home screen, though HTC has tweaked very many aspects of the device.
is it going to be for t-mobile though ??????????

Is the HTC Hero the exact same as the T Mobile G2 Touch do you know?? :)
RIKKIWOZEA 2 years ago
It is, but you also have the sprint version, which is a bit different. :)

If this phone goes to sprint it will single handedly keep sprints network alive wow amazing phone

I put the HERO OS on my G1 yesterday. I love it. However, it makes you realize that it is the Hero operating system that is stunning, not the phone.
It really made my G1 into a totally different phone. For example, they have different "themes" you can select for your home page. They are uber cool.
And the "expanded desktop" is nice too, rather than the 3 the G1 comes with.
Being able to set up speed dialing is great too, something that's missing on the G1.
+++ for the Hero OS

the chin of the phones makes it easier to put the trackball in
infinit3t 2 years ago
It's so that when the phone lays or falls on its face the trackball isn't mashed and the screen isn't scratched.

Rumors is this is coming to Sprint.
I am excited about the Dell Android MID. I don't wanna give up my iPhone but I wanna play with Android too.

Does anyone know when it will come out in the US for T-Mobile?
yungmulah89 2 years ago
no indication at all so far that t-mo USA will carry it ever.
mobileburn 2 years ago
but you can still buy it from t-mobile uk and connect here right?
psuncar 2 years ago
Without 3G, most likely. I don't believe it supports the 1700MHz band that T-Mobile USA uses.

if only you had an iPhone 3G S on hand, could've shot this in better quality.. LOL
