  • now if you could instantly store that hydrogen under immense pressure in much larger tanks that last for days, then you might actually have something there.

  • @ZebbMassiv and why wouldn't that be possible? just pump it into tanks.. np

  • now here's the rocket launch BOOM!

  • @ xmicina you are a complete IDIOT !!!! whatever shithole country your from you are an embarressment to it !!!! FOOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much for thinking with about the easy access and usability of hydrogen gas...so many people would tie us to big company and the problems associated with that. You are very brave and I hope to be able to purchase your work for personal home use...please contact me with your products.

  • you did all that just to shoot a rocket lol

  • You mentioned it only takes water. Well in your demonstration you actualy converted human energy (calories) into a different energy source, hydrogen. It takes energy to make energy.

I have always thought it would be a good idea to harness the energy in gyms, but i think just converting it into electricity fed into the power grid would be the most useable way. The hydrogen step just seems like an extra step.

    Nices demonstration.

  • actually, if every adult in the country of america pedalled a bbike for an hour each day, we'd only reduce our national energy consumption by 1/8th...

  • good video. in my research however, when you create brown's gas from your bicycle, it will not run a fuel cell. find me a way to efficiently turn brown's gas into super pure H2 and we'll really have something. Right now our HHO on demand systems are good for combustion.

  • MythBusters: Hydrogen is not a energy source !!!!

This is most common ecological-lie I know. Hydrogen is one form of stored energy, compared to natural-gas is natural gas winer, CNG compressed natural gas is already in no-days usable for cars, light and safety solution. no heavy metalHydride for storage hydrogen is not needed, no heavy baterries, no expensive fuelCells. Natura gas CNG + standart 4stroke light engine in ultralite recumbent (velomobile versatile) it is right way of personalTravel

  • that may be true however hydrogen is still the most efficient battery we have. but using the same logic is fossil fuel not also a form of battery as it is the stored solar energy from million year old plants.

  • you're an idiot...

  • Hydrogen is direct way to hell. Carbon-hydrogen fuels(oil, gas,biomass-wood) are always better choise than pure hydrogen. Using hydrogen means waste of money, energy, place, weight of device. complicated technology.

Forget to hydrogen is good thing for mankind. There are many and many suitable ways in storage and use energy. If somoone want to everything on the wolr will be powered by hydrogen- I personaly will attact hydrogen pipelines and hydrogen infrastructures to stop this.

  • yeah, okay, but natural gas produces greenhouse gases...

  • u r so smart

  • actually the fuels used to run a bicycle are food and oxygen, and the waste products are carbon dioxide, urine, and feces.

  • How long did you pedal for to generate enough electricity to fire that rocket?

  • if we only lived in neverland . oooh well. shucks!

  • Wow I love the idea. I think it would have been great if you added some plans.

    Good Job.

  • In terms of small personal uses, this is a fine design... but in terms of actually applying hydrogen as an alternative energy source in the future, this simply will not work, you can't get the large scale down, we're better off developing better batteries to be charged than using hydrogen in a situation like this.

  • so are we going to have people peddle bikes for a power source now? The energy isn't from the hydrogen, its from the calories he is burning peddling the bike.

  • I heard gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger had this system installed on his hummer H1

  • Is this guy an idiot? The power source came from him peddling the bike. Evreything else was electric and chemical processes.

  • Hydrogen, while the most plentiful element on the planet, is almost always bound to something, and separating the hydrogen from those other elements (usually oxygen in the form of water) requires energy. You must expend energy to get the hydrogen for powering something else. His project is a solution for the middle step of acquiring hydrogen to use as fuel.

As for the electrical processes, you'll notice he was on a closed system. The electricity WAS from riding the bicycle.

  • how did his legs move to power that bicycle?
