wow excellent footage, i love they way the howl when they go past, i go to Lakenheath lots, just need to find the time to go here. I was lucky to meet a bunch of the pilots that fly the F-15E from lakenheath, very friendly guys.

If ur there and suddenly see guys appearing on the hill tops, like in the film "Zulu", then a big group of F-15 are about to fly through.

Not a chance of getting out there without an airforce escort. It is a live weapons range. However if you know the right people you can get out to the guns range and sitting in the observation towers, watch them shoot targets with 20mm canon and missiles. If the shoot a little too early, the missiles break the sound barrier as they pass between the towers

Brings back memories of watching all the different fighters take off from Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake Alberta where they hold Operation Maple Flag out over the 10,000 square mile weapons range. All kinds of jets from all over the world come out to compete. As kids we would collect squadron patches and I never got and Eagle Driver patch

@Scousefire its easy, Google the mach loop cad west, and there are some good websites with location details, but remember its down to luck if you see any aircraft.

@Wonkabar007 It gets better - Centerparcs holiday village is right in between Lakenheath and Mildenhall, you can plonk the family in there for a week while you get to admire a billion dollar airshow every day - and if you're really lucky you get woken at 6.00am by the happy sound of multiple afterburners singing in harmony. Bliss. Centreparcs is great, sod the squirrels. (My daughter asked "Did that aeroplane go straight up?" I told her yes, that's what F15s do).
