  • EUGENIST NAZI TZAR OF NWO TYRANY..... CONTROL FERTILTY AND SO....THX OUR 'HIGHNESS'....

  • @PATACHENREN you must be retarded

  • Aha, Bill Gates has just in a rather roundabout way avowed that the coarse of his life -as is that of all other humans - is inexorably subjected to determinism. For not only was he born at the 'right time', placed in an environment most conducive to his goal, blessed with comparably brilliant friends such as Paul Allen, and so forth. In short, life is deterministic. For this reason Taoism seems more and more profound each day

  • If anyone's interested in really depth explanation of the 10,000 hour rule (briefly described in this video) you should definitely check out Malcolm Gladwell's book, "Outliers". It'll totally make you re-think your ideas about what defines "talent" and why people become successful. Gladwell kinda overplays the timing card though (via his attempts to find the "perfect time to be born for x career") but other than that little bit of astrology, it's an awesome book.

  • This man is a legend!

  • give me the best microsoft computer!

  • Looking for serious and hard working people who wants to join my team and some make extra money, email me : write2dell@aol.com and I will instruct you on how you start with us.

  • yo bill gates make xbox live free u got alot of money already

  • What if bill wasn't popular and he was just ordinary guy , no1 would take him as seriously as of now .. some1 can answer me dat?`

  • @lolex169

The fact that he isn't ordinary gives his views credibility.

  • yes i can answer that he gave so much money to charity he barley had enough to take care of his family

  • Bill's correct about fanaticism. Most people cannot concieve and do not believe when told how many endless hours and repetitions extremely successful people often put in.

  • @robi2000

Most people also can't conceive how many connections people who are labeled successful & self-made actually receive. Bill's success is NOT ONLY due to his "fanaticism", but also due to his corporate lawyer father and a mother who sat on various boards with influential people. There are fanatics who never make it out of the garage. Assuming they have a garage : )

  • @drbayoms Your comment is incorrect only in that you omit the word 'some' . Some have connections and make it -very true. But some have connections and fail-also true. And also true is that some work hard and don't make it, but hey - dat's da way it is. Gots taDo what ya gots ta do .

  • @Ramsez e.g. bill gates

  • i give microsoft 3 years only matter of time till free softwhere take over ^.^

  • @will76736

There will ALWAYS be proprietary paid software. Its stupid to think people would program entirely for free their entire life (that would be the case if all software became free). ALTHOUGH it can be free, but ONLY for the end-user. If that's what you think happening then its not really free, it'd just end up costing you in a different way.

ie. taxes, corporate giants (which get their money from you with other means), donative support. They're not magic fairy's that live off gratitude.

  • @Valoric0 I think @will76736 was talking about "free as in speech" software (if this is the first you've heard of that, a great introduction would be Richard Stallman's article "Why Software Should Be Free"). But nonetheless, there will *also* always be free (as in speech, and as in beer) software, and it isn't unreasonable to think that Microsoft could have difficulty competing. Ubuntu has set its sights on MacOS/Windows, GoogleDocs & OpenOffice/LibreOffice on MS Office.

  • @angelwhite

Not saying paid software will take over either, they give each other healthy competition. If Ubuntu is your main reasoning for this then you'll see the market trying to pitch paid software on that platform as well (beginning another violent era of fanboyism, not that it doesn't sort of exist already just not as prominent). Either way, I'm glad we have both and it'd be at our detriment if one or the other left us :|

    Peace.

  • @Valoric0 It will happen eventually (Linux as a platform for paid software). The Linux culture is such right now that it can't take hold. But some pursuits, such as gaming, will have a very difficult time fitting a f/oss model, and Linux needs that to appeal to the average user. I think in time they will find a compatible medium. But if someone fixes Linux's shitty interface, Windows and Mac OS could have difficulty competing (reason I use a Mac is because its the most user friendly Unix).

  • @will76736 rofl. We've been hearing about open source taking over in 3 years for about 10 years.

  • @raguila11 I use Linux instead of Microsoft products, but I still admire Bill Gates' success.

Current alternatives to Microsoft products are quite good. Use them if you want to.

What have you spent 10,000 hours on?

  • @raguila11

DO NOT BLAME BILL GATES FOR TECHNOLOGICAL STAGNATION. Pinning it all on one guy is foolish. If anything its the consumers that are mostly to blame for bad decision making, poor choices when it comes to supporting the right directions, another lot of the blame falls on investors for forcing Microsoft executes to ensure that they follow "safe" (repressive) paths.

Lastly consumers need to smart up on how technology advances. If there was microsoft intervention, it was national greed.

  • This man has been horrible to the tech industry. He has tried to repress new technologies that threaten Microsoft, in order to maintain Microsoft's dominance. That's called a monoploy and is not what made this country great. That is not "free-market" capitalism.

  • @raguila11 capitalism entails the individual trying to create a monopoly, I think that market regulation to put others on an equal playing feild is a good thing, but that is more of a socialist principal than one of capitalism (although it is fairly mild) its not Bill Gates's job to do the best he can for technology its his job to do the best he can for himself and his family

  • Is he sick or something? he has been unloading a LOT of his money and he isnt looking too good...

  • @Kooletz71 He's mainly a philanthropist now as opposed to his previous occupation as a CEO. This man has done more for the world than almost any other citizen. I disagree with the conjecture stating that 10,000 hours of doing something will lead to expertise since there is a huge sub-conscious component to consider and things such as how people incorporate their improved skills into how they see and predict patterns.

  • @Zubinen to be perfectly honest most of gates's charity work has been... well a failure, but he is well intentioned so I wont complain too much

  • @Kooletz71

Indeed lets give Mr. Gates all due respect.

After all the man gives so much to charity he can't even afford a hair brush. ;)

  • @Kooletz71 I hope so. He's a strong beleiver in de-population. How ironic.

  • First view

  • @ndecker3295 incredible ;)
