Yeah I have lately just upgraded to that CPU, If consoles wanna save dosh on there next console, they should go with AMD, I mean... Their latest CPU the Phenom X6 is only £234, that is so cheap, 6 Cores of RAW compute power. ATI is very cheap as well for GPU's, I expect the PS4 to be a computer now, with a proper OS and shizzle lol. But yeah the Phenom X4 965 is fantastic :)
PS3 has tremendous CPU processing power on it's CPU, if used correctly, but it's low ram amount and weak GPU put it slightly behind the 360 in terms of graphical fidelity, the PS3 can beat the 360 in the physics department easily :P anyways, I play on a PC so I really shouldn't be giving a crap about consoles xD

You are correct on the RAM. Also, RAM is really important for GPUs. People say the RSX GPU is limited (256mb), but people don't know it can "borrow" the RAM from the Cell (the XDR ram that runs at 3.2 ghz), which is mad fast compared to GDDR3 at 700mhz.
But you are wrong on the second part.
Xbox gpu is stronger (unified pipelines, higher polygon performance, fillrate, etc).
PS3 is graphically more powerful only if it uses the Cell properly.

In the specific case of MGS4, all the in-game scenes are made with the game engine, and you can test it in some scenes where you can get the control of the little robot and can play around in the scene changing the camera position in any way you want, this is a demonstration that is not a pre-rendered scene...
btw, these are all pre-rendered trailers... im not a fan of any console although i have a ps3... its all pre rendered on a big super computer. None of them are really real time ps3 action... so there isnt nothing about the ps3 power. I saw some game play but in sequences of 5 seconds. The games which are multi platform for ps3 and xbox are the same in graphics. Developers don't have the time nor money to create 2 completely different games for each platform.

Its the same as the Xbox but in the ps3 HALF of the ram is 2 times faster then the Xbox 360 ram (the ps3 ram is 2 parts not one part)
