I know these podcast are a few years old now. But I have to say that these are hands down the most helpful videos on story writing found anywhere on youtube. Thanks
You were very inspireing (especially the absolute rubish page 138) - thank you. Though I'm already late for the contest, I'll take it up - gonna be sweet.
Thank you for the tips, specially the last part. Now I can probably review (and redraft) a short story I was previously ashamed to put in a competition. I loved the hint on the writing on one side of the notebook!
I've always found writing easy, I like to scribble up ideas and develop character ideas, and important events in the character's life, write odd trial scenes and develop ideas - I never plan a whole story, that sort of evolves as I write - I love writing because I never know what's going to happen next - it just evolves as I go and reveals itself. Stephen King is the same way - his memoir "On Writing" is great for developing yourself as a writer. Good tips in there on getting published too!
I think it must be, I have a friend who has a brilliant analytical mind, and there's probably very little he couldn't learn in the way of science/technology, but his imagination doesn't appear to be quite as well developed.
Thank you very much for all of the helpful tips. I wish I could send you a short story Ive just finished but it is past the deadline. Good Job and thank you!
This was really helpful and I found things that are making creating my own story much easier. Thanks:)
