Hmm..I plan on trying out Heretic someday-I've been in the mood for old-school shooters untill Halo Reach comes out. How would you say it's quality is like compared to games like Doom or Duke 3D?

I'd say that the quality is very good. I love the game. But I haven't fully played it for years. I actually prefer it to Hexen, which is already outstanding. Just as good as Doom and Duke 3D. Plus it's really challenging.

Just like Drakan i'm fairly sure i know whats half of your pet peeves but nonetheless i'm interesting in hearing them. Also it sounds like the perfect settings. Sitting at home, relaxing enjoying a drink and playing some video games for a bit before heading out and doing other stuff.

P.S. No need to apologize if you feel like you aren't posting much stuff on the channel, real life comes first and as far as i'm concerned you do a lot on YT even when you feel you don't. =P

Great vlog Rob! I'll keep it general but... I don't see the industry going to hell, but changing in a way that kind of alienates people with a certain taste... if you will. I try to enjoy it, but some of the games I look at and think "Meh... maybe".

I'd love to see this top ten pet peeves list. Shit, I feel like I'd probably agree with at least half of them already!

Recharging health, being forced to play with others or with AI NPCs, constant duck/cover gameplay, slow gameplay. Meh.

I just don't like new-style FPS games that are made multiplayer first. I can really see why people like them and why they're popular, they're just not for me.

I like being the only person blasting, fast twitch gameplay, inventive weapons and environments, and holding on by the skin of your teeth, not knowing if you'll die around the next corner, and having concequences to playing sub par. So basically everything that's not COD.

Each to their own though. Everyone's free to like what they want to like. ;)

I very seldom play multiplayer. XBox Live for me is for XBLA releases. In fact, I sometimes don't even use my 360 for weeks at a time.

Not really. Maybe once every few months I'll play a online multiplayer game. But then I lose interest after a few hours. I find it boring knowing that I'm not actually accomplishing anything. I would much rather work towards an ending or completion of a game. There's no end to multiplayer, so it doesn't hold my interest.

@elbryan42 with halo 3, COD 4, COD WaW, and COD MW2, you get challenges that you have to accomplish. and you rank up and go prestige so you do accomplish something.... and you get gamerpoints for campaign missions...

Before gamerpoints existed, and I didn't have a good internet back then. Campaign/Single player modes were the only thing I could play and there are accomplishments (understanding the story or seeing an ending). Also MP don't always give the game replayability. You can try playing differently on campaign too. For example, Crysis, you can play all Rambo-like to being stealthy.

@JerichoSupporter ya. but i only play FPS games. i mean. i'll play a TPS like GoW. but i am gonna get doom, doom II, quake, duke nukem and wolfenstien. i mean hell, i play old games still. but now that they fuckin ported em... its even better because xbox has great FPS controls. but i got a question rob, do you like halo?

It further simplified the FPS genre for more casual gamers. The only thing that I like about Halo is the controls that have since become standard. I don't call following waypoints to each group of enemies, carrying only two weapons, and repetitive environments very fun.

I can understand why other people like it. But a few years ago I bought it used for $5 and felt ripped off.
