Options>Emulator>Save Type>Automatic, Flash 128k.

Close the program completely, reopen it, and it should work.

Open Visualboy Advance, select "Open", choose your ROM. Make sure the settings are as I just stated and the patch and ROM have the same name.

Download a Fire Red ROM. Download the patch. Make them named the same thing. Open the ROM, play Shiny Gold.

Youtube regulations prevent me from giving any ROM download locations.

Windows should recognize that it's a .gba file, just as it would a .doc or .exe. Even if the filename itself doesn't say it, the type should.

I finally got the game working.

I fixed the save error, and switched my save type to Flash 128K, but now, when I save it says "Save error. Please exchange the backup memory."

What do I do? I dont even know what the backup memory is?

but... this is gonna sound really bad but how do you speed it up? i can speed up other games but this one won't go any faster than 116%

i tried but it seems to actually slow it down :O cause i think it frame skips some and makes the game look really bad. haha but i found if you put frame skip to 2-3 it makes the game go to 200% [or around that] but i still want it to go faster like it usually does
