  • I believe the correct term is "cover" not hat. ;)

  • this helped so much for my NJROTC class... haha thanks now ill pass the hair part of the uniform for once(:

  • thanks! now my 1sgt wont yell at me for hair!

  • Is this the same for the Marine Corps female hair regulation?

  • @Soshi53017173

yes, the marines have to wear their hair like this too, or if you cut it, it needs to be above the collar when wearing any uniform. but when you do a bun it doesnt have to be a sock bun, you can braid it or wrap it too. but sock buns are more common because they are more professional looking.

  • you are sooooo pretty :3

  • ladies..thats why its a great thing to braid your hair then bun those few pieces. learn to do it b4 going to boot camp or cut your hair. it grows back

  • Oh, and the comment about what makeup you can wear, why would you wear makeup in uniform? Unless you're in your dress uniform, it makes no sense. You are working, not trying to look pretty and impress anyone.

  • Wow, she's talking about no one caring if her hair isn't perfect. When I was in Okinawa, my hair had to be perfect at all times. I had a real witch of a Cpl who insisted my hair always be perfect. Hers never was, but mine had to be. Even when we were in the field, she was always complaining about my hair. The problem was my hair has a mind of it's own and it didn't matter if I put a whole bottle of gel in, it would still stick up or come loose.

  • I hope you can respond to this. I have blonde hair, medium length. It's curly and thin/fine. I was practicing with a white sock and I can't even get my hair to cover the whole thing. Would I get yelled at for this even tho I can't help it or would I be allowed to do a regular bun in Air Force BMT?

  • @blondie91390 I have no clue how Air Force is, but what you can try is getting a thinner sock and cutting it shorter, so it makes a smaller roll. At least, I think that's what my drill instructor recommended. I kind of zoned out when we got the class on how to do our hair since I had real short hair then. Even after my hair grew out, I never did a sock bun. I would put my hair in a ponytail, then separate it into two or four sections (while in the ponytail) and braid each one.

  • Thank You so much!! I am currently a Young Marine. We have to have our hair stellar (much to my dismay) during and even after boot camp. I got into a little bit of trouble for not having my hair in regulation. When I finally did have my hair within regulation, it was a mass of hair and lots and lots of bobby pins. This is the answer to my prayers! Thanks

  • that hair wud not fly in the marine corps..ours had to be PERFECT!!!

  • Damn you're pretty. Lovely hair too. Great job with the information, thank you for that. I know there are a lot of people out there who believe they have to go out as G.I. Jane when they get into the military no matter which branch.

My mind wandered and at 2:37 I thought "Omigosh! she's lost her head!"

Boooooo to the one who 'Disliked' this vid.

  • I love the Intro of your video

  • thanks for doing this,

i think you defiantly saved me from getting smoked...

    every morning...

    much appreciated!

  • aren't women in the military supose to cut their hair above shoulder length?

  • @SexiCoolWIL Not in all the branches she is in the airforce I can tell by the uniform

  • @SexiCoolWIL No, women in the military can wear their hair any length, as long as they keep it looking neat and feminine in appearance. So no going all GI Jane and shaving it off.

  • Thanks for the tutorial. Looks great.

  • interesting

  • beautiful!

  • usaf has the best looking women... Thumbs up for girls in ABUs! = )

  • k for the one girl: im going to boot camp may 10th for the marines. you're allowed to bring mascara and foundation for your pictures and for graduation. [ASK YOUR FUCKING RECRUITER IF YOU DON'T KNOW] as for the hair they don't cut it for marines. one girl just got back and taught me how to do a sock bun as long as your bobby pins aren't showing and you have no loose hairs you're good. and to you who posted: i didn't know about the non aerosol spray so thank you for that!

  • im going army active duty and im female im getting scared now lol thank you for this i was worried

  • I've heard people say that all brances of the military now require women to cut their hair to above shoulder length...is this true?

  • no not at all

  • NOTICE: I am leaving JAN 25TH, i WILL BE BACK IN JUNE TO ANSWER MORE QUESTIONS.

  • @sheistyytina07

LOL.Hell no.Its call military not beauty school.Thats like letting you wear makeup in the military. If you do combat when bullets are lodging on your base, you cant go "odalay my mascara no bueno chakino".I'm a girl going in the marines soon. That made my day xD Lmfao.

  • Are you allowed to bring hairspray and gel to boot camp, to make your hair secure?

  • you are allowed to bring a "pump" hair spray... non aerosol ONLY. And yes to gel too. how eles are you supposed to get your hair with-in regulation? get EXTRA HOLD!

  • Thanks! And also, this might seem like a stupid question but; I read below that you can bring make-up for pictures; Do you just bring the make-up to boot camp and then they store it until pictures?

  • in bootcamp, are you allowed to put make-up on??

  • sorry, nope. but you ARE allowed to wear it to get your pictures taken!

  • @itsnotjodi thank god lol , i'm joining the army, i do not care what i look like in boot camp or in the field but i dont want any photographic evidence of me looking like a mess XD

  • @ArisaKicksAss

Why are you joining the army if you don't want to look like a soldier?

  • @sheistytina07 Noooo. Don't even think about that. I heard this one chick went to church with makeup on and got recycled back to zero week so don't test it. The only time you can wear makeup is when you get your photo taken.

  • glad to see u made it through basic alright, its 2 years ago now that i left for basic, kinda miss it, did u like it?

  • the new basic is longer and.. has a bit more army-like training... weapons, self aid buddy care, war tactics etc..

it was ok, worst part was the evil female flight members. 50 woman, pretty much all on their period..under in one room= not good.

  • haha sorry to hear that, i was actually one of the smallest guys in my flight and during the self aid buddy care section the TI's got a kick outta calling fire and making me have to drag this big airmen around the ground

  • @itsnotjodi ooh yeah! Thats totally the truth. its amazing how quick girls go for the throat during basic. Seemed like everyone was on the rag

  • Haha, pig tails in basic. Can you use any type of gel or hairspray in basic?

  • any type of gel, but ONLY pump squirt spray hair spray.. but you will want super duper hold action :)

  • i'm actually going to basic training next month for the air force, and i have short hair, i'm trying the sock bun method [=. one question though, are you allowed to use scunchies that match your hair color, or just regular hair ties?

  • nope, no scrunchies!

get the good sport hair tie things with the rubber twisted in them, it will hold tight!

  • y r u up at 4 am?

  • i commute to work, gotta get up early

  • Welcome back! I missed your videos :)

  • by the ways as i always say you look beautiful wonderful as always... and damm u got ranks now that's way fast lol love u : P

  • hey jod its been a while i miss you babe hope everything its good over there we need to talk : P
