The reason why cobblers are considered 'untouchables' is down to the fact they deal with leather and hindus venerate the cow - so you can see how this doesn't sit well.

But saying that how many higher caste people wear leather goods (shoes, sandals etc) and have leather handbags, purses, belts?...its all a bit hypocritical ultimatley.

Interesting. I've got some photos from 1998 taken when Mubarak was refloated following some restoration work and the hull is definitely turqouise! Did Sadruddin Daya own the yacht then? If not I do apologize.
