Fantastic video, congratulations. Please can you tell me what gear you are using to get that grind? It's the closest I've heard yet, greasy but so smooth and clear.
you are a very good player! great technique! I saw you in another video holding the ibanez gem..Do you still have it or have you sold it for getting this gibson? I have a gem also and i am thinking of selling it and geting a les paul traditional.. comparing the gibson with the gem which one you prefer..there are total different guitars i know, but i am just asking if you liked the one more the other?
@Vaish57 the jem 7v is an awesome guitar...wish i had kept it...it's great for the fast shreading stuff...i don't do much of it so I traded it for something I would get more use out of. I love les pauls...i would personally rather a les paul for the style of music that i like over the jem. But those jems rock!If i were you...i would hold on to it and try to save and get a gibson if you are able to...if you are a one guitar kind of guy..then do what makes you feel better about it all...Thanks man
Well if you call that "an improvization" I'd like to hear you playing something you actually "trained". I really love your playing and you are a real source of inspiration and motivation for myself. Awesome.
this is damn good playing my friend......Ive got a 58 reissue tobaccoburst myself and that sounds killer to.Bur can you explain to me what a Butterscotch is?
@MrWarensemble is was a part of a promotional thing at a local musical instrument dealer here in canada...they made so many in butterscotch....thats the only difference...
Nice playing.... I have one to... # 8 0748 I can't put the thing down. My buddy has one as well. We both live in N.B Canada. It would be interesting to locate all the Butterscotches and see where they ended up...lol
I love this piece like there is no tomorrow. You did a hell of a job on this one. I'm certain that Billy is proud of you and you sure deserve my respect. GREAT! Rock on, brother
What drew you to the 58' reissue? I know they sound great but dam that price tag! You did the best vid on this guitar yet. I bought the trad plus. The burstbuckers sound a bit thinner that the 57' classics, but in a great way. Rock on.
Great sound, brother. But I'm sorry to say that there are some real, signature things there that ain't there (in the solos). When covering/demoing something like this - in my opinion - it's not enough to just toss out some blase' pentatonic solos over the C & A solo sections. Show that you really appreciate and that you studied Mr. Honorable Billy F. Gibbons (The Reverend). You are a top-notch guitarist. Awesome sound; greasy, fantastic vibrato, nice chops. Sincerely, KTK
Well played, but most of it was pretty boring....the same riff again and again and again...i dont know if you were copying the song exacly note by note....maybe so.
but anyway you would benefit from some leads you know :)
@hozzy933 no disrespect man but the riff kinda makes the song. obviously theres some vocals and stuff. he may not have neccisarily done the song note for note but the parts where the riff was going was usually where vocals were. saying his was boring was like saying ZZ Top's la grange was boring lol. and he did lead guitar throughout like half this video. awesome leads, btw. but yeah man. try not to be so harsh! he sounds great
LOL...I should have known that was you!...I viewed it as one of those suggestions and I was listening saying...Damn..this guy smokes!!! Nice Job as usual!
you really captured the vibe of this classic tune, fantastic job mate.
picking up my 58 vos on tuesday,i cant wait.
