@NeilDnb Yup, custom set cue points for any track which are instantly accessible from the 4 hotcue buttons under each deck controller. This means you can jump forwards and backwards within a tune to create custom remixes on the fly. Use the sample loopers to keep the beat going while you jump (all in perfect BPM sync) around and it's a whole new tune!

Nice work bro! Just got myself an S4 and loving it to bits already. Serato is great for the 'performance' of being a vinyl DJ and when used in a clean setup with decent TC rec's means you can scratch and do all the 'proper dj' stuff, but IMO with the looping / layering / FX capacities built into Traktor Pro it takes things to a whole other level. Remixing on the fly, dropping home made loops / beats into the mix, kinda blows Serato out of the water ;)

@RockstahRolln Yes, u can control 4 decks at once with separate gain, volume, EQ, filter & FX for each deck all right in front of you! It's like the most amazing four channel mixer you can imagine. Combine that with the 'shift' function which you can then re-map to move you into another mode where you have 2 decks and 2 sample pads and suddenly your options are blown wide open. This is a SERIOUS piece of kit that will bring back the pleasure of 'crafting' a good mix whilst still keeping it fun!

I think this is a good example of how well using software sometimes but not always emulates in other words "copies" the old timey style of DJ mixing when combining two or three tracks of musical tunes, I.e. Hi i'm using a s4 controler and a x1, i just intsalled them both but the effects dose'nt seem to work...when i turn the knobes they do react on the softwere, and on the computer monitor.. but they dose'nt make an impackt on the sound..what do you think is the problem and what should i do?

@B3ellinelli You would have to select the channel button (1 or 2) above each channel to use the effect on that channel.... also there is a wet dry knob that might be the case. If you select MIXER MODE in the views make sure the effect slot (123or4) is light up for that particular track if you have an effect in use.

traktor miscalculates the BPMs a lot its a 65 when its intended to be 130 (I know this is half speed im not a fucking idiot) so when I sync it either places it double speed and I really want to play these songs. and don't tell me to learn to beat match just is there a solution to this to recalculate or set a tempo within traktor? thanks

@tylersherritt under each track there are settings... one will show the bpm with a TAP button... you can TAP it out or tell it /2 or x2. This will cut the tracks BPM in half or double it up. But yeaaa... you have to do it for each one.

i do this on every track to make sure they are on point.

wait...u said it occasionally 'crashes'..? the actual device itself? or traktor? are u on a windows or mac setup?

@indomelll yea if you push the device to hard (like cpu usage, latency up high and computer cant keep up) then it will crash sometimes. Im on a MAC setup. What happens is the program will turn off and then that shuts down the device as well... so you just gotta make sure you're not pushing it

@djpromote You have to use Traktor's on board sound card. You should not use the sound card on the computer as the USB speed and latency is too great. You can tweak but I've found out that using only the on board Traktor hardware gives best (and fastest) results.

I can't get the hang of my new Traktor S4 or the software yet, how do you get the effects knobs to be Beatmasher 2? I've tried over and over, but the effects are too complicated, there's like two different modes or something :/

@99TheHero99 yea two modes... im using the mode where it lets you use the 3 effects on one channel... you choose the effects you want... turn the wet and dry knob all the way up then choose 1 or 2 on each channel depending on what effects your using... hope that helps
