I love the Nikon D40 I will be switching to the DSLRs from point and shoot in the next few months cant wait! I do have a question though. Are these pictures taken with the kit lenses? and are the kit lenses good or do I need to buy better lenses because the picture quality from this video looks amazing! Thanks for the help.

I heard they are pretty good, and a few (as in 2 or 3) use them as their main lense for professional shooting.

The kit lens is relitavely good.

It is a f4.8 18 - 55mm 3x optical zoom lens..

the kit lens is really good, i had the d40 for about a year before upgrading to a d300:)

it is said to be the best kit lens for a budget dslr thats out on the market today.

but if you do find the quality isnt up to the standard you want then i would suggest upgrading to a 18-70mm or even a 17-55mm f2.8

p.s whatever yngbullwnohorns says, i doubt there are many pros that use it because it is a dx lens and most pros use a full frame camera:)

There are some god pics... but to take such pics you dont need a D40 a Normal Digicam make the same pics ;)

You have to play with the settings ;)
