  • Him speaking slowly to get over his stutter just makes him sound more smug. Brilliant man.

  • I Do some jobs almost as good as a white person

  • I'm Pakistani!

  • I like curry, I do, but now that we have the recipe....

  • F-ing genius

  • oh my god mr bean said the n-word :)

  • And now the Tories are back woe is me!

  • he does such good satire. what is the saying that the best satire is indistinguishable from the person/concept that the satiree is immitating? never is this more true when lookin @ the current retaridcan candidates of these anti-reality lovin united states. i still slightly hang my head in shame about most of my fellow countrymen, its such an embarrassment 2 hear them talk

  • Everyone knows the Tories are evil

  • Conservatives don't realize this is a parody. They're like.....can we elect the Mr. Bean?

  • My God, he did this so well... I've known people like this, and the imitation is word-perfect. Literally, actually. Sad.

  • This is hilarious right? Nero fiddles while Rome burned. Rule Britannia? Hearts of Oak? You’re giving your great nation away and not one English person seems to care, John Bull my ass!

  • Thank you Jamwllms

    Atkinson's hilarious as always!

  • That sketch was written well over 30 years and the same principles still apply in the same party.

    Scary,Isn't it?

  • I don't give a toss about all the comments, analysis and deconstruction of this clip that is on the comments lists here ,I think this is truly laugh out loud funny and strangely pertinent for modern times.

  • typically. like capitalists and conservatives today. speaking bullshit and still they win.

  • we could sit here complaining or we could get rid of all the upper class like the Russians and the French did

if the bleedin' FRENCH can do it we can :)

  • It's just about the time where he says "now that we've got the recipe"...that just hits the right spot for me.

  • LOL

  • This is hilarious. Rowan acts it out very well, too.

  • Now we have the recipe - hahahaha

  • Why are there subtitles?

  • Our Conservatives make the American Democratic party seem like far right wing Tories.

  • ...Hold on, this was a -sketch-?

  • @TheFacelessActivist A bloody good sketch, if you ask me.

  • @darwincity

Oh, well... I guess it would have been obvious if it was more hyperbolic.

  • VERY apt at the moment, too. Damn Tories.

  • Now that we've got the recipe.

  • Can't believe people still get confused between CLASSICAL and modern day liberalism. The Americans don't believe in classical liberalism anymore than the Brits are.

  • @marcsman229 I agree with you, the Liberalism of today is nothing like it was when in got started.

  • and.......dennis!.....

  • The only good Tory is a supposi-tory

  • Tories are more liberal than the US Democrats.

  • @merrja666 in what sense... I don't know a huge amount US politics, but I always felt that the democrats were alright..

  • @MalargueZiggy Alas, at this point, Republicans and Democrats are merely flip sides of the same tarnished coin. Bipartisan politics haven't worked in this country (US) for a looooong time...

  • @madbint so what's the answer?

  • @MalargueZiggy Honestly, I don't know- you can't get rid of 'em; you run the risk of something much worse/ scarier coming in...and it seems contradictory to suggest more parties when critiquing the party system, but it might help out- more people might get more adequate representation that way; or rather, they would get representatives that they feel are standing up for their concerns. Like I said, I definitely don't have the answer :) but maybe it's something to look into.

  • ...than it is for a camel to.

  • Lol, this video perfectly describes the average party-program of the modern Flemish political party :p

  • Though I appreciate the fact that deaf people should have access to this sort of thing, the subtitles ruin the young offenders bit: 1:40

  • The funniest (and scariest) thing is that you could perfectly replace Rowan with Glen Beck and it would no longer be a joke, would it?

  • @Sylderon who the hell is Glen Beck?

  • @metamagicAntiEUJedi He's a complete loon here in the States, one of those people who sees Communists behind every curtain in the White House (and doesn't understand that Nazis, Communists, and Socialists are all entirely different things), who uses his radio and TV shows mainly to spread ridiculous rumors about the Obama administration and how the economy is going to collapse...then cut to commercials for people selling gold bullion. Be glad you don't know of him.

  • @Sylderon: ah, thank you for that briefing. Though I would argue with the notion that Nazis and Communists are 'entirely' different. They both seek total control of your life the only real difference is one is nationalist and therefore racist and the other internationalist and usually closet racist. (evidence the former USSR, weren't many foriegners welcomed there - unless there was a political point to make).

  • @metamagicAntiEUJedi While it is true that both were unpleasant, there are major historic differences (see Stalingrad, Battle of). I think part of the problem is that the Nazis were, technically, the National Socialist German Workers Party, but they were about as Socialist as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is a democracy.

  • @metamagicAntiEUJedi Communism teaches absolute equality, to the extent of becoming annoying. The former USSR wasn't the best example of -communism-. It was a proletariat dictatorship in only one nation, yes, but this wasn't the initial goal of the communist movements. It was also a country that went straight from almost absolute monarchy to that case of affairs, which didn't go very smoothly. In addition, Stalin, just Stalin.

  • @theodora2345 the USSR was run by the comunist party but the country was not comunist it was socialist, the clue is in the title. the socialist dictatorship is supposed to be a stepping stone to true communism acording to marxist doctrine. whether this will ever happen is highly debatable. But the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was not a communist country. also proletariat means the lowest social class and dictator is the person at the top, the two are very diferent and cannot be combined.

  • @guzzirider500 Excuse the "proletariat dictatorship". It was supposed to be "dictatorship of the proletariat", as said by dear Mr Marx himself. I'm not a native English speaker, so some terms just confuse me. And didn't I just say that it wasn't an example of communism...?

  • It's true that the general facade of "social democracy" keeps the British Tories at some distance, though recent events show how the Third Way inevitably opens new ways for the Right to fight back.

I wish the US had something akin to Spitting Image or NTNON or Mark Thomas or Mark Steel -- Jon Stewart, Colbert, Michael Moore and their O!bummer-loving crowd really don't cut it right now.

  • This is sad rubbish. Both Labour and Conservative supported mass immigration. The sketch is pure pretence.

  • @AngelArtists Yeah cos that worked so well for Russia.

  • @gbushimprov I see your point, but Russia is a Russian Mafia run country anyway & always has been. Though I don;t live there so I can't comment

  • "i like curry but now that we have the recipe is there any need for them to stay"

  • I can't see how Cameron got in Power. The whole of the UK working classes fucking HATE him. Jesus, when will us British take up arms & fight back against these elitist bastards. It's time to cause a stir in this Country, "V For Vendetta" style.

  • @AngelArtists fuck you, you don't speak for 'the whole of the UK working classes'.

I for one have more time for his lot than the lying, two-faced, money-grubbing, meglamaniac, shits that make up the fucking Nuliars Party.

  • @metamagicAntiEUJedi I never said I did. I dislike all Governments as they are only out for themselves. If more people were angry such as you, then perhaps the UK wouldn't be in such a state that is is in now.

This is exactly how they keep the masses down, by getting us to fight amongst ourselves.

    :)

  • @AngelArtists I think you need to read what you wrote again. It includes the phrase; "The whole of the UK working classes fucking HATE him.", which is precisely what you deny saying? Get your head straight first, then we may have a discussion.

  • Exactly :-D

  • he looks like the present chancellor

  • One of the great glories of this show, and Yes PM, is their endurance, which is both hilarious and disturbing. This sketch could have appeared on a comedy show at any point in the last sixth month and would still be relevant. What fantastic writing.

  • In Sweden he would be a member of the "SverigeDemokraterna"...... (Swedish Demokrats).....

  • It's exactly what the Conservatives would like to say, only its coming out of the mouth, not from the arse.

  • @GiratinaofFury

    Brilliant comment.

  • yes a joke it is blame everything on labour money grabbing twats

  • Hahahahaha!

  • HAHA, love it! thanks for uploading this, priceless.

  • we've been a little too soft on these.... Bastards XD lol

  • How long before this starts to happen all over again? The poorest are already paying off the nation debt by forking out 5% of their wage package. anyone above £81,000 p/a will be paying 4%. But that's the new fairer system we have here now, and if you don't like it, I'm certain the Conservatives will find a large ditch for you to die in, obviously as long as it doesn't stop the incesant flow of Jag's and Mercs getting to the office on time. We couldn't have lateness could we?

  • @MetusModus Well Cameron has already given a speech at the Tory conference "your country needs you" Lord Kitchener utters those words and 10 Milliion men died in just 4 years, that's 2.2 Milion per annum not bad for us, but the Tories would love a few more on the heap though!

  • @satoterror 100% true, I believe Cameron voted to GO TO WAR! But what does he care for humans?

  • @MetusModus Spot on sonny jim, not bad foresight!

  • @MrLuvlyJubly Not hard to to predict though, Tory scum never change.

  • @MetusModus Yeah, and the minimum wage goes up about 5p every 10 years

  • From where did this clip originate?

  • More relevant today than it's ever been

  • @RD2006

Yes and now that Cameron's conservative party is BCK IN POWER we can observe the results soon Europe will be full with muslims and turks and instead of us our wifes will be raped by semi-human mongol turks with animal desires and the examples are 10000, all thgis thanks to Cameron.

  • @NEMESIS1999 Shut Up.

  • I love how there's always some mong on old conservative/political spoofs, saying 'and that's what it's like now'. So sad...

  • Old clip, but somehow actual discussions. Not only in the UK. That is, what makes it great :)

  • Subtitles. Why exactly?

  • Flashback to leaders' debates anyone?!

  • Comment removed

  • can't believe he did this in front of the whole tory party at the time.

  • Its George Osborne!! Lmfao - In A Vision Of The Future From Mr Bean!! Please see my Attatched Video = D

  • They would be a riot if this was aired today... lol

  • This is absolutely spot on and accurate. Cameron has managed to finagle and slime his way to become PM recently and this old NTNOCN Clip still holds up as an indication of how blinkered, philistine, racist, sexist, neaderthalic, self-serving and cold-as-ice the Conservative Party is and will always be. If Thatcher was Milk Snatcher, Cameron is Cattle Prod. Look out UK!

  • @MultiSmartass1 Yeah but who voted him in? People are too stupid to realise the whole political system is bullshit. Labour is exactly the same.

  • @HoosierMF Labour is not precisely the same but it is certainly no better.

Also, the Conservatives were so ineffective they couldn't win an outright victory, they had to share power with the Liberal Democratic party.

  • @MultiSmartass1 Doesn't matter. It's the same old story. Now watch the crime levels go up and the rich get richer as usual. This is a system that has shown year after year that it doesn't care about the people. Why do people keep on supporting it?

  • @HoosierMF What choice do they have? Slim to none. This has always been the case in British politics. The only recourse that working class and poor people have had is through organizations and groups they create to help improve conditions for themselves. Whether that is the Chartist movement or working class colleges, in England, people pretty much know that you have to look out for yourself even if they don't say it out loud.

  • comedy genius and extremely representative of the conservative party lol

  • you couldn't make this sketch these days. Shame!

  • i see theres plenty of tory scum on here, take at yourselves you bunch of arseholes

  • Labour's contempt even for their own voters runs right the way through.

Do you think Labour peoples' communist pasts, paedo tendencies or treason were bad enough? You take a look at the Reds' bashing of Christianity, cashing in on still-legal drugs and plotting with the Libs to stay in power even if the Tories win!

Even other Lefties hate them for their warmongering!

Click my username to view NEW LABOUR'S TOTALITARIAN ANTI-CHRIST DRUG DEALERS DESERVE AT LEAST POLL DEATH!

  • @TheDustpile While Iam an American, I also follow English politics from time to time. You are right that other elements of the British left hate the Labour party. That's because this is New Labour not old Labour. New Labour is militarist and interventionist and has largely discarded socialism. The English have suffered through enough wars and borne enough of WWII and its aftermath. Both the tories and labour are worthless as far as Iam concerned.

  • You can just imagine Cameron saying this. Nothing has changed at all :-P

  • @RedHeadVicky I couldn't agree more. That's why this clip is so spot on despite its age. Amazing!

  • Conservatives Are Back? search for:

10 reasons not to vote for Cameron

  • omg he is so brilliant lol.

  • Last time the Tories were in control during a recession we had 3 million unemployed and 15% interest rates.

The recession we're currently in is much much worse, yet we have significantly less unemployed and significantly lower interest rates.

    THINK about it!

  • @janebusby right, yes. Let's pretend the British government controls everything, including all the global stock exchanges. Surely, that'll give us a clear view of the present situation, no?

No. You'd have to be out of your bloody mind to think that all the shite going down currently is the work of the labour govt.

  • @janebusby Erm...I think you'll find this recession is much worse AND unemployment is rapidly heading to 3 million AND even before we start reducing the ANNUAL deficit that Labour kindly gave us.

  • @janebusby not quite. The highest it got was 13%, although it did come down from 19% which was the last labour govt figure in 1979. The current low in interest rates is arguably more dangerous, and certainly will be if we go into deflation.

Unemployment figures are fudged these days as we have 2m on the so-called 'incapacity benefit', a haven for under 35 yo recovering alcoholics.

  • What sort of event was this? Is this like Colbert at american state of the union?

  • GOOGLE 'Cameron, Murdoch and a Greek island freebie'

  • Jesus. Very topical. The nightmare returns 30 years later.

  • This is the reason that the BNP have got so far. The left has up until now shouted down any discussion on Immigration as Racist. Hence why we now have the shame of a rising fascist movement in our country.

  • has Michael Howard to a tee, scary to think we might have him back in power

  • Remember, Thatcher said she would be "tough on immigration" won the election, then failed to deliver what she had promised!

  • Still rings true today, Cam the sham could use this as his party political broadcast!!!

  • conservatives are arseholes

  • Could be worse. Tories are more liberal than American conservatives.

  • @p717 But, so is a slug.

  • @p717 if you mean liberal as they understand it in US, as "social" then no, they aren't

  • @p717 That bad?

  • What a shame.

This sketch must be nearly thirty years old, and yet it's still as applicable now as it was then.

  • One of the best sketches of all time !!!!!!!!!!

  • The only good Tory is a supposi-tory.

  • LOL Brilliant. Some things have changed since this was made now the Conservative and Labour party think immigrants can do the jobs better than British people. Or should that be exploited? Both have racist and socially divisive policies.

  • This sketch wouldnt be allowed these days so funny

  • @rwc20071

Urm, Comedy Central Extra have been running all of NOT on rotation, this sketch has been playing repeatedly, and the Beeb still put repeats of NOT on whenever they have a gap in their schedule...

  • I think, even the irony behind this would be lost of Cameron today! What a sad country this has become!

  • xesionprnce is bang on, dont know what ignorant people have been giving you negative for!!!

  • haha this is funny

  • Hahaha, since when did the EU make MOST of the laws in the UK? Christ, mate, do some fucking reading before saying shite like that.

Also note how referendums have no legal standing in the UK. The Tories would have no vested interest in doing more referendums and making them legally binding, given that as soon as a referendum comes up on inheritence tax, that's the Tories fucked.

  • "Hahaha, since when did the EU make MOST of the laws in the UK?" -

Last year it was about 75%. Now YOU go and do some reading.

BTW, I meant Conservatives will make it law that referendums on treaties have to take place before a treaty is signed. Like in Ireland.

The majority of the UK were against the Lisbon Treaty, and Labour refused to let us vote on it.

  • "Hahaha, since when did the EU make MOST of the laws in the UK?" -

Last year it was about 75%. Now YOU go and do some reading."

Bollocks. Give us a source or there's no way you have any credibility. Are you taking statutory instruments and secondary legislation into account? Do you even know what that is? Do you even know how most of the law in this country is created through the courts? Nice going there.

  • @MrJST87

You do know that the Tories were the party who took us into Europe don't you. They didn't have a referendum on Maastrict. The Tories have now said they wont have a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty even though they could if they really wanted. Also, the EU is a massive benefit to the UK economy and creates jobs, not destroy them.

If the Tories really thought the EU was as evil as you seem to suggest then surely they'd propose withdrawing. Which they haven't and wont.

  • 1. They took us into Europe with a referendum.

    2. The Maastricht treaty almost got John Major's government dissolved because so many Tories opposed it.

    3. There's no point in a Lisbon Treaty referendum AFTER the treaty has already been ratified. The treaty can't be UNratified.

    4. Haha, if you genuinely believe the EU benefits our economy and doesn't destroy jobs, go and tell that to the thousands upon thousands of people who've lost their jobs due to factories closing down because of EU law.

  • 5. I didn't say the Tories view the EU as evil. I said they want referendums on future treaties and opposed the Lisbon treaty. They will also try and repatriate important powers lost by the treaty.

    6. Anti PR? Cameron is a LOT more public than Brown. Brown avoids PMQ's and interviews. Cameron is frequently on radio and tv interviews, and posts videos here on youtube and on his website.

    7. The NHS was created shortly after WW2. It's 2010 now. The Tories are different people.

  • @MrJST87

and as for tories being 'pro democracy', they are the party who voted repeatedly against expanding the franchise, against devolution, and are probably the most anti PR party in parliament.

AND they voted against the creation of the NHS. The tories are bastards.

  • All depends on whether you are talking about the 50's or the 80's, 90's, naughties?

  • This might be totally off topic, but am I right that English people pronounce "issue" differently than American people do? I think Americans mostly say "ishue" or sg like that. Forgive me if it was a stupid question, English is not my first language you see but I'm wiling to learn every little thing about it. :) Btw, I love this video's irony. It's so well done I'd love it even if I were not a liberal. >:)

  • As it has been expressed to me, political affiliation is defined by brain chemistry.

So, of course, it's extremely silly to be arguing over who is right and who is wrong, and which side should have the power to push the other side around, when it all comes down to something so intrinsically uncontrollable as chemicals flowing through the brain.

Things might appear more civil if people would stop trying.

  • @Jcolinsol

I would find this highly unlikely considering the fact that the government changes hands (approx) every 8 years. Unless large swathes of the population are replaced by death or immigration (in the region of 20%) then that wouldn't make sense.

Although there is the old maxim; 'never discussion religion or politics' (because in theory the argument will never end). I discuss both however :P

  • @Jcolinsol hm I don't want to argue with you 'cause I'm far from being an expert on the subject and English is not my first language but I believe that our poltical view is not determined but somehow developed through experiences. For example a gay man will never be a far-right winger because he's hated in that community. Speaking of myself I deny my parents' ways of politics because of things I found out about myself that I know are not compatible with conservativism.

  • Well, conservative and liberal are really meaningless arbitrary terms. I mean there are homosexuals in the republican party. And the far right, the libertarians, are often quite accepting of homosexuality. I think it's important to break down these stereotypical notions of politics, and studying it from an empirical perspective (i.e. studying brain function in relation to politics) is useful towards than end.

  • @Jcolinsol well you might be right. I just brought up homosexuality because I couldn't think of a better example and it's not so accepted by the right-wing where I live. Btw, are you studying the subject? If so I would be very thankful if you linked me some studies according to the topic, I'm really interested. (Sorry for my English)

  • tee hee

  • How Sickeningly true, let us be reminded of this during the up-coming election! This is the real face of Conservatism I fear. Whilst voting Labour is also pretty inefectual, seeing as how all political parties are pretty much the same i.e. we are now all enslaved to market forces, and are probably all governed by the illuminati in any case!

  • guess,that this "comedy" with "such content" shows "great+black" british,special humour,which I adore so much,in finest way!!

british people should be lucky+grateful, that it's possible

to "talk about some themes",in this satirical way!!!

in other european countries: this wouldn't be possible !!!

    Thanx !!

  • Just can't imagine them getting away with 'nigger loving' and 'some of them are black' etc on todays TV. For better or for worse, shit's changed.

  • For the worse, there's a difference between tact in personal company, and going paralytic over a comedic sketch.

Every television, radio and computer comes with an on/off button.

  • fuck the conservitives gay cunts

  • I think calling conservatives gay, is pretty stupid. Considering the lefty ponsie wonsies are jumping for homo exceptional rights.

    So, fuck off, homo.

  • yeah but conservitives like you and your mother are too far up your own arse and are really actually homos that cant admit it

  • So, actually, you want more rights for conservatives? How kind of you.

  • @oiFaTmaNo please can i watch one fucking video where someone doesn't use the word gay as an insult or are insulting gay people.

  • ***Labour let in migrants 'to engineer multicultural UK***

see: London Police 'Confront' Radical Muslims

  • hahaha fucken conservatives

  • Imagine this sketch on hey hey its saturday

  • So well done.

  • Hilarious.

  • God, Ted Heath used to be fat didn't he?

  • He wouldn't be able to say the N word these days ....

  • what N word, Nigger? =D

  • now that we have the recipe... brilliant

  • Rowan Atkinson = Genius

  • @dominickkk5 genius ?? not a word!!!

  • Yikes. this argument has been persisting through so many days! Look, let's just enjoy the comedy skit, okay?

  • Amusing I didn't notice an argument going on in the comments section of my own video..

Meh, some people are so sad..

  • Enough is enough. For my part, I promise to cease indulging the neuroses of someone who is clearly a full-blown obsessive.

Good video, thanks for posting it. I wish they'd release a full set of NTNON on DVD, but I suppose a lot of it is too topical.

  • We should be more tolerant of gagothesith, whose sense of humour was, I think, surgically removed at some point earlier in life.

  • wonderful how he rants on the english parlement XD

  • Anyone who takes a NTNON sketch literally has something SERIOUSLY wrong with his mind.

  • Slap a solar panel on the guy's house and he's David Cameron. The English are going to vote this party back into power some day very soon - we have been warned.

  • LEXO30:

    > we have been warned

VERBAL warnings would be heeded--or no warning at all would be necessary--if 1997-2009 did not show a WORSE AND OPPOSITE REALITY.

If the electorate live lives they are satisfied with, they would be voting for the Party in power or be indifferent to voting--why do you think there are protest votes and incumbents get kicked out.

  • "If the electorate live lives they are satisfied with, they would be voting for the Party in power or be indifferent to voting"

That's assuming that their dissatisfaction can be remedied by a change of government.
