@j0em0f0 In a live environment he doesn't really add much(Improves the backing vocals, just not much in the way of guitar, occasionally theres a 3rd guitar part that is nice to have, like the intro of New Dark Ages), but he writes a bunch of really good songs for the band

@kiklogik mr brett participates in the recordings and writes some of the music but he does not go on tour. I guess that since this is a tv performance he wanted to appear but normally brian baker plays lead guitar...that the reason why...ur welcome

When Mr Brett left, they replaced him. When he returned, they kept all 3. cf Iron Maiden. triple axe attack!

The vast majority of live performances they do they only have two Guitarists, Brian Baker (the guy in the cap) and Greg Hetson (the bald one). Brett Gurrewitz is the 3rd guitarist and a founding member of the band but he owns Epitaph records and usually only plays at hometown shows or for some televised appearances, to my knowledge at least. He also left the band for several years in the 90's which is why they have three guitarists now.
