Stuck in a District Line Train Between Monument station and Cannon Street Station

Recently, I was using the new Victoria Line train and we were stuck behind a train for at least an hour because someone 'accidently' pressed the emergency button when leaving the station.

Out of interest, what caused the train to have to stop like that? I don't mind admitting I'm not a fan of the underground and in the past I've worried about getting stuck for a long time. Had to use it every week when I went to college in London and I was always so relieved when I reached my stop and was able to get off

@Meanmanmartin2007 The train infront stopped, and when that happened well, you just have to wait. Watch my recent video of stuck in an london overground train because we were stuck for over 45 minutes! Because of a falty train infront. Then trains pile up behind so you can't go back and I know that if you can't move after an hour or two they will open the doors and you'll have to walk upto the next station. Just like any other thing. Whats there to be scared of?

@harrihealey02 Thanks for explaining. I've been on there a few times when its stopped and an announcement comes up saying "we're being held at a red signal".Then rather hillariously its began moving again seconds later.

I'm not really scared of traveling on the underground trains. Just not used to them so in the past I have not been used to them stopping at signals etc. I'm not very keen on lifts. In particular the ones at underground stations when its crowded. Covent Garden is the worst

Don't know. All i was told was a heater in one of the middle carriges had over heated so we had to get off at the next stop but I think one of the vents under the seats were blocked so the hot air was burning the seat causing smoke.
