Tim's version came out first with At\rt Garfunkle releasing his shortly thereafter. I think the original artist brings an invisible depth to the quality..
I was 17 years old and had broken up with my first boyfriend when this song was around. I thought the world was going to end and this song made me cry for years. 38 years later I still love the song and appreciate it's beauty even more than before. Thanks for posting this, I haven't heard it in a long, long time. What a great song.
One of my favorite songs of all time. Beautiful melody, beautiful lyric. One of those most moving songs I've ever heard. Thanks for posting, I lost my copy in a fire.
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
I HAD THE PLEASURE OF HEARING TIME MOORE IN 1974 PLAY A CLUB IN MEMPHIS. GREAT VOICE, GREAT SONGS AND VERY DOWN TO EARTH PERSON. ART GANFUNKEL HAD A HIT WITH THIS SONG AS WELL. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO TIM?
i bought this album in soho market (london).....my brother and i were blown away....every song was decent-yet nobody in the u.k. knew who he was. his second album was even better, the one with 'rock and roll love letter'.........next moment we hear that the bay city rollers have done this song.......its played everyday and everywhere......we felt like stopping every person we meet and telling them....hey thats a tim moore song!
Sad love song, good break-up song.....if that makes any sense. Love the songs in this era, the 70's. Lots of great songs came from this era. Too bad there aren't as many great songs written or sung by true & raw talents these days. Nonetheless, thank you for posting the artist.
This is one of my all time favorite songs-did not know who wrote it-only heard Garfunkle sing it-both versions absolutely beautiful-and memories of the 70's.
It is hard to believe that I found any of Tim Moore's stuff. I was all of about 10 years old the last time I listened to his music repeatedly using the headphones passing the night away. I remembered his name :o)
Thanks for this great song from my high school days.

Brings back great memories of the 70s. That decade was full of a lot of great music, which is sadly missing today.

Thanks Kevin, that track's pretty good! It reminds me of Paul Davis from around the same time period. He had a big hit called "I Go Crazy".
