  • in my opinion it's about humanities addiction to money and its power to grow by itself as interest. In the middle ages interest on money was a crime called usury. In the islam world it is still a crime. Watch the " money masters" to become enlightened about the truth and history of money.

  • @bvde2002 OK BUT without interest there can be no working loan business. Without that the financial system cannot fully work. Without that, the industries, business, trade etc. cannot work properly either. This basically results in long lasting financial crisis in which Muslim world is. Even Muslim countries with oil reserves have very low gross national income. Attempts to raise money by increasing price of food and oil results in uprising like in Tunisia. Not everything in economics is evil.

  • I think the song is supposed to be about Orpheus. Hence the title of the album. Orpheus (the narrator) went down to Hades to get his girl back. And to get there, he had to pay the boatman money, to sail him across some sea. And the money he had to pay the boatman was 'easy money', because he was going to get his chick back, so he doesn't care how much it is. I think the stuff about 'the house where we live' and 'my wife and kids' is just to give the song a modern angle. i could be wrong though..
