CF works, period. For those who say it doesn't you're not pushing yourself hard enough.
Kama, make an argument with facts not opinions.
rockad, I agree that CF isn't for everyone. SCALED workouts can be used for people "just getting started" but anything can be, and is, scaled for beginners, not just CF.
To do a CF workout takes strength, power, speed and coordination. Too easy? Do it faster or add weight. Don't like it then don't do it, but don't say it doesn't work.
Kama, i challenge you to do any functional fitness program for a month. If you actually put effort into the workouts, and dont see any improvement in your overall physical capabilities then you may be right about your comment. Ive noticed a good amount of time people that bash it, dont put out, nor do they do the movements properly.
i did this stuff for a while and it was like taking two steps back. it's good for the average person who's just getting started, but not very beneficial for someone who has been exercising for a while or wants to excel in any one area.
i've done linda in 16 minutes at 175lbs. it was tough, but not something that i would really benefit from. anyway, that's the only decent workout they have posted on that site.
yes, given the title, these pull-ups were not quite "baked" yet. Thanks for the comments though. A great video can be found on th crossfit site. Search for Mike G on butterfly pull-ups in May 2008.
I'm not sure if those are quite butterfly pull ups...You look like you'd have them if you had a bar with a split center. You're having to stop your momentum at the top and bottom, or else you'd probably crack your head open! The difference is the butterfly gets you so much higher, it's crazy. And it's so much faster. I hope someone can post a vid of a really good one!
